  1. Looking likely for the Cats game with Curnow out.
  2. Sounds like Jordie killed it at Casey, he'll play next week.
  3. If we can't have a laugh at our own expense, what's the point? =)
  4. Buller or Hotham this year?
  5. I'm honestly expecting zero. Hoping for one (preferably against Carlton) but expecting zero.
  6. That's awful. No way he will survive based on that.
  7. Dunno, thought Dunn was actually reported by the ump then and there too.
  8. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbournes-depth-to-be-tested-after-more-key-injuries/story-e6frf9jf-1226055946645 I'd suggest that if Jordie gets through today he'll be a walk-in starter for the Aints.
  9. Probably Bate, yeah. I agree he should be dropped as well, he is stupidly out of form. I made the point elsewhere that I've never been sold on him, and yesterday proves once again why. Every time he gets the ball I worry he is going to shank it or take the wrong option. Days like yesterday show off the very worst of him. He can have very good days, yes, but his worst is far more disastrous than his best is beneficial.
  10. What? Stef was fantastic yesterday given the situation he was in, competing against a genuine #1 ruck when he has only really started playing #2 ruck this season. His dropping for the Adelaide game was harsh - he's been fantastic so far this season and continues to improve. He offers fantastic utility. He can be a marking target down forward, a backman if an extra tall is required or a second around-the-ground ruckman. Couldn't ask for anything more from him.
  11. And Dunn, there is no way he won't be suspended for that.
  12. Nar, last week was the top of the chain that they drag you up - it's all down from here for the next 5 weeks.
  13. The next six weeks just depress me. I'll be shocked if we win 8 games this year on current form.
  14. that's a real worry. lots of eyes on Max @ Casey tomorrow methinks.
  15. Early report, 2 FA, 8 disp - had a SC score of 19 which meant they were all ineffective basically.
  16. Hurt himself Q1, played on but couldn't run at all.
  17. Look, I'm still willing to cut some slack. Why? 1) No ruck. It hurts. No matter how well Martin did, he was never going to be able to fill those huge Russian shoes. You may remember - think it was last year - Hawthorn played against North in Tassie. Renouf got injured in the pre-match and Roughie had to go into the ruck for the game. They were terrible. A non-ruckman up against a ruck always makes things very one-sided. 2) We were genuinely missing seven, possibly eight if you include Dunn (which, after today, I doubt) of our best 22 by 3QT. Scull, JT, Jordie, Rush, Garland, Rivers, Bail. Add to that that we had 20 vs 22, as well as those games that Dunn and Green had, and you see struggletown coming on.
  18. Last I can remember is Richie Vandenburg
  19. Yeah, he works hard. But he's not good enough - my original point. He continues to try, yes, but if the skill ain't there, it ain't there. Wonna is different - it's more of a tank issue. You say he's lazy, but he was buggered by halfway through the third quarter. I'd say he needs a heavy enduro run next preseason.
  20. Brent Moloney, every day of the week.
  21. Yeah but who do you drop him for? We're actually running out of midfielders. Jetta and Bennell were poor, Green was not there but won't be dropped, Morton probably will only come back if he annihilates Bendigo, Bail is out for minimum a month (and possibly season depending on whether its ACL or PCL), Scull is still 2-3 weeks away, Trengove is suspended. Jordie may actually come back if he plays well for Casey tomorrow, and Evans and Nicholson are lining themselves up, but apart from them we just dont have anyone we can bring in for him.
  22. oh to add to the ugly the fact that you could see it coming 5mins into the second quarter and knew nothing would change
  23. Out: Bail, Garland (injured), Dunn (suspended), Jetta, Bennell In: McKenzie, JMac, Evans, Nicholson, Gawn
  24. 6 - Martin 5 - Frawley 4 - Jurrah 3 - Newton 2 - Watts 1 - Garland simply for playing on with that injury.
  25. Look at it. Garland is effectively rooted end of Q1 cos of his injury. Bailey takes the punt to leave him on there injured, because he knows Bennell isn't going to offer anything defensively. Swaps his matchups to put Garland on the weakest of the Roos forwards - Aaron Edwards. He is, but he could get space because Garland was injured. Bailey took a punt and it didn't come off, I understand where it came from and can accept it. Then we lose Bail in Q3 to drop us to 20 men. Doesn't help that he's our primary tagger.
