  1. I would have dropped him last season after the Bulldogs loss, and have been evil-eyeing his place ever since.
  2. For Melbourne; - Always love the red and the blue, but.... - Don't mind the white-heavy ones. I loved last year's clash strip (the one Jurrah took MotY in in case anyone doesn't know what it looks like) and something like that would be fine. Personally I am not a fan of the current strip though. For the general AFL; - A necessity in many situations. See Kangaroos-Collingwood, Melbourne-Carlton, Melbourne-Port, Melbourne-Freo, Hawthorn-Adelaide. - Should be mandatory for clubs to have a second strip. - Third strip should only be needed in situations where there is a clash even if the club does the opposite. See the Carlton jersey - the clash is generally the direct opposite to the major jersey colour (so white for the Blues) but because of the St Kilda jumper being predominantly white they went for a pale blue in order to clearly ID their players. (What the Dees should have done btw) For the Filth; - Their clash should be pink and puce and come with little fairy wings.
  3. I may be the loudest person in the MCC by a long way (I normally sit with the plebs with general admin, but my friends have MCC so I'm forking out and going with them) but I will not be.
  4. I've read every one, they're great insightful pieces and a great tribute to the club, the players and (in the Indigene series' case) the indigenous links that the club has worked so hard to build.
  5. Out: Tapscott, Davey In: Morton, Nicholson
  6. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/melbourne-coach-dean-bailey-is-under-pressure/story-fn7si0bn-1226060646636 Funny, he says everything yet nothing. What a joke bit of inflammatory journalism. Not that I'm going to come out and defend DB, but that is one of the worst-written articles I have seen in a long time.
  7. That middle line sums him up for me. He's amazing yet you don't realise it.
  8. I would rather accept a player that genuinely knows his shortcomings and will prefer to take a different option (as Bartram knows well) than a player who has some skills in an area and attempts to use them but it doesn't come off cos he really isn't that good.
  9. Do not understand the Bartram hate, I love the guy. Our first-choice back six seems to be: Frawley Rivers Bartram Garland Grimes Tapscott With Warnock as the key big-man backup. Bartram doesn't have great distribution and he didn't have a great game early on Milne, but nevertheless is quite solid and fulfils his role without fuss. He's not going to be a backline superstar, but hey, he'll be fine. There's far worse around.
  10. Simple. They tanked last season.
  11. Fair call - taking nothing away from Carlton, but you look at their forward issue in terms of still really lacking a CHF and then you look at them trading Kennedy...I know it's Judd, but wow.
  12. I reckon he might have, think he was injured though. How we got Gys at 11 watching him now is beyond me.
  13. 1. Jack Riewoldt 2. Buddy 3. Brendan Goddard
  14. Honestly, we have the best shot at the Filth...although that's at full strength. With our injuries, I'd say the Blues. We don't match up well against the Bombers at all.
  15. The more I look at that draft, the more I think we effectively got 4 top 10 draft players in what was a very deep draft - with Winmar at 32, Hooper at 58, Dennis-Lane at 56 and such.
  16. I have a soft spot for Boomer, met him at work and he got me a signed Roos jumper for my North-supporting grandmother.
  17. Brent Guerra Mark Le Cras Campbell Brown
  18. There's a superb article running around talking about the different pressures indigenous players face and how recruiters are forced to look at them differently on a personality basis. Talked more about Troy Taylor and Weetra, mentioned Liam as well though. Great read about the cultural problems they go through - and the cliff they can go off if they can't deal with it. Personally, I get the feeling (although RudeBoy can answer far better than I) that Liam is genuinely trying to stay at the club, but the feud is making life v. Difficult
  19. Morton for a small back of some sort.
  20. Either put him back in a forward pocket for the major bulk of the game or send him to Casey. Only two choices.
  21. Maintaining an earlier vibe (although slightly altered) - he has had ONE quality game since the start of 2010, and that is the game vs Adelaide where he was inexplicably not tagged. And I'll challenge you to name me another where he's been the threat where he was 2-3 years ago, when we were at the bottom of the table. Clearly you haven't been watching the same team.
  22. I'll just say as well - if you can't honestly say you didn't expect losses like this this season, you've absolutely got your head in the sand? We matched last year's grand finalist and just got run over a touch by that extra A-grade that they have from experience and developed A-grade talent. Apart from the Davey issue, I'm still pleased with the game.
  23. I called after his debut that he looks like James Hird...everything I see keeps my view intact. He's sen-[insert choice 4-letter word]-sational.
  24. Cheers, considering I watched the first quarter on the AFL website only using the match centre then went through and read a coupla post-match reports
