  1. Does explain the Matthews sightings - and a touch of Lethal around the club is a good thing. Gotta wonder whether it's making Dean more confident in his methods to be honest. Interestingly, they're only meeting outright on a Friday, but I wonder whether they're chatting outside that - stuff like after the Weagles game (although they were back the Friday after that)
  2. I know we're probably second-lowest on this list (possibly third) but anyway... Does anyone have the average experience (ie average number of games each player has played) of each team stat running around? Just trying to work something out.
  3. Cudi, the other thing if you put it Gen Admin is that the basic Melbourne membership gets you in there.
  4. like ruck tomorrow night. and their backline
  5. Gen admin generally gets you in any gate except MCC & Gate 6 and it's top tier. Best way to do it would seriously be to get people (number depends on who we are playing) to arrive a coupla hours before game-time and shotgun seats for the group. For example, up against Adelaide or somesuch you'd only really need two people, but up against the Filth you might need 4-5 (or even everyone) Apart from that, it's a good idea and I'd be interested. It would depend on what is happening with other social/work engagements of course, but if I am able to make it to a game (and not sitting MCC when we play against Carlton) I'd certainly be in. Also, there's responding to opposition and responding to opposition. For example, if a player constantly turns it over to us, I give em a cheer and yell thanks.
  6. Tough to put it in AFL members, there's just not enough people that have it. The best supporter groups are those that are at the front of the stands....probably put it General Admin, get someone to arrive 1-2hrs before and stake out a really good spot at the front of one of the top-tier stands. GSS, right next to AFL members would be awesome. The only other issue I can see is that I know I would prefer to wear my Melbourne jumper than something else to be honest. Apart from those issues, I'd be interested.
  7. Am I the only one here that has a strangely good feeling about tomorrow night? Maybe it's just cos I'm going with all my Carlton-supporting friends and am going to shout them all down...
  8. no choice. look at the injury list then look at the options. either go with 3 first-gamers and a second-gamer or bring in a couple of players with a few games under their belt.
  9. Hrm.... Heard [that he said he was playing sub]it on AW, not sure if it's confirmed elsewhere or not. Could be either a gnarly tactical ploy by DB (in which case if it works my respect for him rises) or simply a young player being honest about his role. Thoughts?
  10. Heard on AW that Dan Nich came out and said he will be sub tomorrow night?
  11. It's pretty hard to find quality small backs tbh, they don't come through that often, and if they do quite often they end up as midfielders.
  12. Yes.
  13. A pick and Dunn for one of those kids might be useful, but it depends on what type of player we're targeting. Down back we're basically good. Up forward we have Watts, Cook, Howe, Fitzpatrick, Jurrah, Wonna, Dunn right now, plus one of Jamar and Martin rotating through. Midfield speaks for itself. The only way it'd be handy would be if we were doing it for a mid. A KPP wouldn't be useful to us for this.
  14. Well it's a two-part issue - who we would give up for one of those and who they would want for one of those. I just don't think we have anyone who fits what they're hunting for - maybe Dunn would be the only one I'd consider. I'm guessing they'd look at... 24-27year old. Number of years in the system (not a mature-age) Someone who is really up for a contest and willing to go body-on-body. All of our players who I would genuinely throw in there (Sylvia, Moloney, Jones) are untradeables IMO, and the only other player I can think of is Davey, but with his current form plus his role in the mentoring program I doubt he'll be useful at all.
  15. Yeah, I know, those kind of losses have been crap. But ultimately, if we make finals even with those losses are the board going to care? The ultimate judgement is the W/L column.
  16. That's an interesting point. Melbourne are far less likely to be interested than a club that's stuck in the falling stages, a la Port last year. Where the stars are aging and still competing but the kids aren't good enough, or where they want a kid as an extra boost to their prospects. I just don't think it's something the club will be interested in, we've got our kids, and with the exception of JV there's no need for us.
  17. He does has flaws in his game, but I love watching him blow through a pack. He's still improving, has improved every year, and is steadily becoming a genuinely good player.
  18. This season, right now: Game........Preseason....Result Syd @ G - win?.........Draw Haw @ G - loss.........Loss Bri @ G - WIN..........Win GCS @ Gabba - WIN........Win WCE @ Subi - loss........loss ADE @ G - WIN..........Win NTH @ Eti - win?.........loss StK @ Eti - loss.........loss So the only game right now that I would call out of character would be the North game. So slightly behind - but beating Freo or winning any of the next 3 will put us on track.
  19. All the Nathan bashing kind of makes me want to save it and bring it back up in 3-4 years when he's a huge part of the beating heart of our midfield.
  20. Just had my MCC guest pass arrive.
  21. Third youngest in Vic Metro, pretty good - he'll get another shot next season (unless GWS do the 17-year-old-trade-to-Dees thing) I think?
  22. Jamar 3-5, Bull 3 weeks, doubtful unfortunately. Love it to line up against the Tigers though.
  23. How about Angus Graham and a first-round pick?
  24. I did see that, had a chuckle
  25. Not for a GWS swap it won't.
