  1. The only target for next year is Trenners, and he'll stay cos of Tapscott.
  2. was 166 IIRC due to good behaviour?
  3. Any given Monday.
  4. Pretty simple to counter him now though, really. Put a hard tag on him, stick to him like glue. He was nothing in the first half except for the punch thanks to Jones' tagging. If he plays you tell someone (maybe Nicholson, he's probably the best tagger we have atm) to absolutely force him to fight for every ball etc. He can't deal with it and lashes out as he did to Jones.
  5. Depends on where you sit. I'm a vocal person at the footy, but I try to make it funny rather than shout obscenities. Worst one I've had in a long time was Friday night - couple of Dons fans who thought every second word had to be f---. There is a line in there somewhere. Couple of things: - MCC is, by virtue of what it is, held to a higher code of behaviour. - Racism is strictly not on. - Other stuff I'm not sure. I agree with some in the media who have been saying that Eddie is hypocritical by holding a Saints fan to account over the Andrew Krakouer stuff, yet won't hold his own supporters to account as they call Milne a rapist. But it's hard, you can't police everywhere and there are always going to be areas where fans get rowdier. (Bay 13, anyone?)
  6. He's contesting it...
  7. Carro asked him 'what did you talk about' and he turned around, stared at her and replied 'Life'. He knew the question was coming and didn't give anything away. That said, Hutchy did ask him that if Tom came to him for advice, what would his advice be, and his instant reply was actually emotional, came out with 'For god's sake stay!'
  8. Lyon & Thomas: no comment Carro: staying Hutchy: trying to get a story out of Garry
  9. Don't know if anyone just watched Footy Classified, but they did touch on the Tom issue. Grant Thomas didn't comment, as for the other three, they discussed Garry meeting with him a few weeks back. Carro put it to him as to whether they had discussed the GWS issue, to which he replied no. Hutchy continued to try to get an answer but Garry didn't budge, while Carro offered that she thinks he'll stay and that the decision has already been made. Furthermore, Garry added that games like Friday night helped the MFC's cause because Scully could see full well what was assembling around him. Let's get real, people. This isn't Chris Judd having won a flag and a Brownlow, nor is it Gary Ablett having done the same. He's 20. Let's let him decide in due course and back off the speculation. I know the media won't, and in all likelihood someone will explode every time the media even cough GWS, but seriously, he has said he's keeping mum til October so let us leave him.
  10. Should really do this, thus... Green - finally up forward Jones - man of steel Watts - will breakout soon Gysberts - best to come Bennell - underrated and superb Frawley - outshone by Riv Trengove - he never left Morton - actually quite good Sylvia - come back Col McKenzie - tackles, tackles everywhere Moloney - fought every minute Jurrah - better 2nd half Rivers - spoil, tackle, clear! MacDonald - much-needed support Scully - welcome back Skull Martin - rover doing ruckwork Gawn - will be better Howe - he can play Jetta - really strong game Strauss - all-round skills Nicholson - lightning-fast skills Evans - solid all round
  11. Tell you what, if Bailey was smart about it he wouldn't have even mentioned MM calling Maric a cheat in-house, he would have saved it for this week.
  12. Actually, I'll put my neck out. We'll finish 10th. Simply because everyone knows Richmond will finish 9th.
  13. Beams may miss too, wasn't he hurt late last night?
  14. Did you copy that joke off of me saying that in the 'Make or break' thread?
  15. Are they running open training on Sunday? I have an exam Monday morning but I might shoot up to watch them.
  16. Scully, Trengove, McKenzie, Gysberts, with Viney, Evans, Nicholson running around as well. -------- Ablett, Bartel, Corey, Ling, with Chapman, Enright, Selwood running around as well.
  17. In: Bartram (if fit) Out: Sylvia (if there's a questionmark, if not then Evans or Nicholson) It's a bloody tough call though, with how well most of the team played.
  18. The fixture: - Collingwood, MCG - Loss - Freo, MCG - Win - Richmond, MCG - Win?? - Dogs, Etihad - Loss?? - Bye (Rd16) - Port, Darwin - Win - Hawthorn, MCG - Loss - Geelong, Skilled - Loss - Carlton, MCG - Loss - West Coast, Etihad - Loss?? - Richmond, MCG - Win?? - Gold Coast, MCG - Win - Port, AAMI - Win?? Which means 6-8 wins for the rest of the year to put us on 10-12. We need to win 12 and currently possibly 13 to make the 'F' word which I dare not utter. It'll be close, I'm expecting 9th-10th though.
  19. With the wind now, cmon Scorps
  20. Watts is gonna be a toughie for them - it'll probably be O'Brien tbh, Maxwell doesn't offer enough around the ground and Tarrant is just eh.
  21. We know what it means to us, we're the dedicated of the Red & Blue supporters. But the club as a whole does not do enough for Queen's Birthday. There are only two occurrences in the AFL season where there is only one game on a particular day. The first gets a full house at the MCG year-in, year-out. The second was nearly removed due to falling attendances a couple of years ago. Why? I believe it's completely underpromoted by the club. The club should have come out yesterday with the 'biggest clash of the year' stuff. We should be building up the history. The clashes in the 50s. The great games of the 2000s. The draw. Turn it into a huge spectacle. The rising MFC versus the powerhouse CFC. While we may not turn it outright into ANZAC Day II (simply because of that sense of occasion that ANZAC Day has) we also need to realise that we are really squandering an opportunity here.
  22. I reckon this latter one is a fair point - they get two bites at the cherry. Sheedy is definitely eyeing Pendlebury for the second year - why else would Pendlebury sign a 1yr extension only if not to see what GWS has to offer at the end of 2012? They can't afford to have thrown so much money at Folau PLUS do the same for Pendles and Skull, considering the first two demand over a mil a year.
  23. I'd say so simply because Frawley is quicker.
  24. No. Should the game be pushed far more by the club so we get 70,000-80,000 each year? Yes.
  25. The Bombers fans are starting the Melksham v Gysberts threads in the vein of Watts v Hurley...
