  1. I can hear in now... Cometti: 'Jamar, taps it down, Moloney clears, big kick forward....WATTS!'
  2. I did point this out in the previous thread - the unstated factor is what if we do play finals? Even if it is a one-and-done September, it still says a lot about where the club is going and how far ahead we are relative to where GWS would be. As for the Richmond stuff, we could simply bend them over a barrel and demand that they give us Martin in that case.
  3. Nahas = Bennell. If you're willing to watch QBD or more likely watch Essendon again, watch Bennell on the small, speedy type - against the Pies it was Krakouer (only scored 2 goals, one of which was junk-time, and all his possies were when he moved to the midfield while Bennell stayed back) and Essendon it was Leroy Jetta. He does very well shutting down that small playmaker type. As for the others... Riewoldt = Chip Vickery = Rivers Miller = Garland Martin = McKenzie (when mid), Trengove (when forward) Cotchin = Has to be Scully, but wouldn't be a hard tag like Martin Deledio = Petterd as def fwd, otherwise Dunn comes in (about the only game where he genuinely has a role IMHO) Pity Bail is still out, he'd destroy Cotchin
  4. dont know if anyone saw it, but the mark that the Vic Metro kid took on the line vs WA should be the mark of the year/
  5. Jurrah's already there on a HFF. Thus Wonna -> Howe
  6. I know HiFi is Bennell, as in JB HiFi
  7. Who the heck is The Disappearance?
  8. Jordie is massively, massively underrated by a lot of opposition coaches IMO. Well, except Neil Craig.
  9. Bail back after the bye, hell yes. Tapscott still 1 week?
  10. That's the thing. The whole situation is so vague. It's probably going to work best on certain players in my opinion. Guys who want to stay in their state for example, such as O'Meara, or guys like Viney who will simply be a F/S anyway. Remember, GWS are almost certainly going to have the #1 pick for the 2013 Draft as well (although I'm not sure whether the priority pick rule comes back in for 2013, and if so Gold Coast could be eligible?) and will thus be lining up the top talent for THAT draft as well. They'll be looking at those that they can genuinely get, rather than those (such as Viney) who won't be going their way. I'm anticipating Freo trading with GWS for one of those picks for O'Meara.
  11. Maybe a minute and a half. It was topic-relevant at the time (I've had it for a while), can't be bothered making a better version.
  12. And don't forget the Max Factor!
  13. This picture is ready and waiting.
  14. Tell you what, I'd park Bennell on Nahas and get him to do what he did to Krakouer now that I think about it...
  15. We could throw Bate and Dunn at them for him and it saves us a first round draft pick at the end of 2012 (which he probably will cost us regardless of father-son right now) We have to nominate to GWS who we're taking with it. Only issue with that is O'Meara has said he wants to stay in WA.
  16. haha, they're all arguing over whether Brad Miller should play. speaking of which, who will play on him? Riv or Garland?
  17. Hutchie nitpicked the Scully article in the Hun tonight. Yawn.
  18. Interesting talk of JV on Footy Classified tonight - not sure whether they were wrong on the rules so clarify for me, if we do a deal with GWS in order to get JV to come as one of the 17-year-olds, will he be able to play in 2012? Opinion of G. Lyon was they could, but I was under the impression that he would not be able to play til 2013.
  19. Oh please oh please. I have the photoshopped pictures ready to go.
  20. Admittedly forgot about him. Still though...GC have 12 players with AFL experience on their list. Right now I can't see more than 5, let alone 12.
  21. Well the thing is, Kreuzer re-signed. GWS did offer him huge $$, but he said no and signed with Carlton. He's staying. Unrestricted free agency will get them a shot at 2 players at clubs rather than one, that's all. And the second player will be in that older bracket, 27-28ish. Pendlebury doesn't qualify for FA, he's got a shot cos of his contract being up in 2012. Goddard at least qualifies for Restricted FA but they can throw the megabucks at him too. The reality is, with possibly the only exception being TS seemingly noone is heading to GWS this year. Certainly noone with Ablett-like class who will demolish off his own back but have the rest of the team falter around him. They will struggle far more than the Cold Toast simply because there isn't that bracket of hard bodies that will be able to help them win - Bock, Brown, Rischitelli, those sorts.
  22. Gotta wonder whether TS is looking at Kreuz (who has been reported everywhere to have had Ablett-esque cash thrown at him by GWS) on the weekend and his leading of an absolute demolition of a very good Sydney side, compared to Gary Ablett being the only one cutting apart a Hawthorn side and eventually having the team get flogged. While I know there's the dollars and cents equation, we're also talking about a guy who simply wants to win, no matter what. Winning is what GWS will not do, certainly not next year (while they may get A win, more than 1 I highly doubt) and probably not until 2015 at the earliest will they look at a Melbourne 2010 season. In the meantime, Melbourne will almost definitely be playing finals, hopefully flag challenging.
  23. Melbourne (by this point we will be up the top) Carlton (dying end of the cycle, Gibbs and Murph getting on but still a force a la Geelong) Collingfilth (see above, great squad team with no stars a la Sydney 2005) Gold Coast (The rise is on, they finally hit top 4 this year)
  24. Curveball, Daniel Nicholson.
  25. BT maintaining the Scully Press Conference line on AW right now
