Anyone considered that interview might be the best thing that's happened for MFC? Gubby Allen came across as smug, conniving and anything but truthful. TS would see something like that and be fuming if he's had contact with GWS at all, as he would almost certainly have agreed for it to be NOT mentioned under his 'wait til the end of the season' agreement. $7mil/6years is a hell of a lot of money, yes. But at the same time, MFC will almost certainly put a deal on the table to certainly make TS a fair wad of cash. And with no signings beyond an ex-League player and a bunch of 17-year-olds, gotta wonder if they'll be any good at all.

That's the big sticking point for me. I'm perfectly happy to see some of this stuff increase, but things like Debt Demolition and donations to clubs should not go into player salaries. Neither should any Auskick stuff - all the Auskick funding should go back into Auskick. However, some of the motions are great ideas, especially the rookie increase and pension scheme.

GC and Swallow is interesting, as I believe both Swallow brothers are on record saying they want to play together at some point in their careers. A lot of clubs will start to target those GC rejects I believe. 5 a year rather than the typical 3 and some of them are going to be pretty good.

The worst one was the 2nd quarter where CB handballed straight to one cos he was hot in the midfield. They grabbed it and turned it around for a goal. Terrible.

I reckon the Hawks are sneaking up as a possible. 4 weeks time? Cyril (who always ruins us) may not be back, no Roughie so we can rotate Chip and Garland on Buddy, and our ruck stocks are still sublime against theirs. Their new arc strategy is something to behold against a press, but against Melbourne's gut-running, pack plays it's useless. That said, getting up over Carlscum would be particularly sweet.

Good analysis of NikNat on FC tonight. Basically made a couple of points - firstly that because what he does is generally so good, it's not noticed that he only does it a few times a game relatively speaking. Second is that he still has a ways, being replacement for Cox and all.

Last year still makes me bristle. Lost by 4 and it was the farce where the umps were in the same colours as the MFC players for the cancer game. The number of handballs that went to the umps...

If we package em up and send them to GWS it counts as 2 of the 3 right? I would say the club will attempt to [censored] them for whatever they can get. Possibly Warnock as well, although I think he probably has some more value to MFC than either of those two now.

Great post. If we make the 8, unless it is through some Essendon-esque falling in backwards, he will survive. Current situation suggests that 8th will be around the 11 wins mark this year. I'd say that even if we do pull a Richmond and finish 9th he'll make it, as it will put us on around 10 wins.

On topic, West Coast winning has worried me more than anything else, no way that's a guaranteed win.
