  1. Apologies if it has been mentioned, but isn't Selwyn Griffith just such a typical Melbourne Football Club name? Talk about nailing stereotypes.
  2. Sucks obviously, but depending on how we play it, we can benefit enormously from this trade. In fact, I think we could be a better team without Jackson, so long as we use his currency wisely.
  3. There were a number of guys at Casey whose form definitely warranted selection at times, like Chandler, Laurie, JVR and Dunstan (unlucky that we're so loaded in the midfield). I do like that we're allowing the younger players more time to develop at Casey but we need balance... our selection was so predictable and the lack of fresh legs was so obvious by the end of our campaign. Back to your original point though, definitely agree that we'd benefit hugely from two high draft picks and the fresh talent that comes with them.
  4. Agreed, Mundy alone will be an impossible gap for them to fill, on and off the field.
  5. I'll be watching from Bali - anyone in the same boat and want to share a few Philip Seymour Frothmans?
  6. Nothing wrong with that, we are an impeccable source of cutting-edge insight and peer-reviewed information.
  7. All I'm saying is don't discount him. He's extremely hungry and probably will be even more so in a do-or-die final. JVR doesn't strike me as the kind of player to be overawed, either.
  8. I seem to remember a 4th gamer in Jesse Hogan rinsing multiple AA fullback Alex Rance.
  9. By the sounds of it, one of McDonald or JVR is going to play tomorrow IMO. Goody was a little cagey, but very firm that nothing would be announced until later today about those guys.
  10. *If Franklin wasn't such a masterful flopper.
  11. Does anyone else feel like we're just about to shift into another gear and steamroll through to the GF like last year?
  12. A big highlight for me though was Trac's first quarter goal out of congestion in the pocket, that was freakish.
  13. Our forward line was such a shambles. And what the hell is with continually kicking it to the same congested pocket, every bloody time? Needs to be sorted out ASAP. Collingwood's forwards were consistently marking 20m out, no angle... and not just after a coast to coast break.
  14. I've really enjoyed watching Larkey for a while now and really have just assumed he's untouchable, as a real generational key forward that North can build their forward line on. However, what would it take to get it done? He'd be huge for us.
  15. Why not? It's their Grand Final after all!
  16. Tonight we'll continue to build on last week and show the competition how good we really are.
  17. Or if you want extreme nuff try the Junction in Preston.
  18. In my mind a lot of those (young) guys played out of their skin in their first couple of years and so a lack of growth this year probably follows the natural progression. Next year I'd really expect Sparrow and Rivers especially to come on, Jordon to step up to be a regular fixture alongside Oliver and Trac, and a high-quality recruit to bolster the ranks.
  19. Okay my bad then, thanks for clarifying. I still think it was dumb though, he literally grabbed it and ran into the midst of like three Doggies players... and with the umpiring as it was anything could have happened.
  20. That's the rule isn't it? Soon as he grabbed the ball he opened himself up to being pinged, we just needed to get it forward at all costs. It was stupid.
  21. What TF was Gawn thinking grabbing the ball out of the ruck on the flank... dumb, dumb, dumb. Too many stupid errors made to have won that. On the other hand, would have been a great game to watch for neutral fans and Jamarra's goal at the end was epic.
