  1. To me if the verdict is not guilty or the sentences are too light WADA will be all over the AFL. The AFL is a very small minnow in a very large ocean of sharks, we are tiny in the context of world sport. Remember next year is an Olympics year and WADA cant allow teams to use the Essendon[ sgt schulze] defence, I know nothing. The dog ate my paperwork or some such rubbish. Even though we are tiny world wide, a lot of countries and teams will be watching to see what they could get away with next year. For WADA this is HUGE, a lot hangs on this out come.
  2. As 6 of the 8 clean skins have been outed by the efc and they I believe those 6 are all rookie or first year players in 2012. Does this mean efc didn't trust new players with the good stuff. It would seem a very big coincidence that only new players said no. I think they weren't asked to partake in the program as efc didn't trust them enough yet.
  3. I still say that the key to all this days of our lives stuff is, why did 8 players not sign and get dosed? I have posted this twice before but as we seem to be going around in circles rerepeating the same stuff by the same people, my question still hangs there. Those eight players decided to stay outside the program, an official club program either legal or illegal. Did they check with somebody, ASADA, manager or players ass. or read the tea leaves in their cups. They choses to go it alone, a very big move in a team culture. Or is it as simple as they LISTENED at their drug lectures that they have to attend and decided that they didn't like what they were being told. To say that the other 34 players may have been duped is an insult to the 8 who stood up to the HIRD rushing down on them in the name of team culture. I don't know jack sh t about ASADA rules, legal ifs and buts, but I would love to know why those 8 didn't go along with the HIRD.
  4. The argument " WE WAS DUPED' wont wash, do you know why? ManDee raised the point, because 8 players Nearly 20% didn't sign and get injected. WHY didn't they sign, who didn't sign, those 8 players had reasons not signing, it isn't easy standing up to a raging Hird thundering down on you. Any arguments over team bonding, teams sticking together to get better for the next season didn't make them sign. WHY? Did they check? Are they scared of needles? Nearly 20% scared of needles. Team mates talk amongst themselves over a great many topics, this would have been one of them. Did the new players ask Fletcher if in all his years he had signed waivers before. They didn't sign, if they were duped it would be one in all in, not nearly 20% out.
  5. As a member who defended the Casey practice match before the event, and was present on the day , the organisation was pitiful. No food or drink. no memberships sold, no talking with supporters. But I still think the Casey idea is as good as we can afford at the present. BUT for all you complaining posters I assume you will be at docklands for the druggies game. I HATE docklands ,cold ,spiritless, expensive and lets be truthful here drab. Concrete hell. Then we come to game day and the mighty Dees are playing there. Everybody get off their collective bums and GO. Support the team, if Casey is the outback for you, just this side of outer woop woop, GO to eckythump, close enough. Go and support a non druggie team against a druggie one.
  6. Thank you TDI for the reply as I look forward to your take on the training days and the chats to players. I think many on this site hang out for your training day notes, for a lot of people, away from Melbourne this keeps them in touch with the club and its playing staff. I would like to meet you tomorrow just to exchange views. I am the grey haired old bugger near the race.
  7. Who said people wont be at Cranbourne at 2 ? I will. For too long a lot of MFC supporters act like little gods deeming nobody lives more than 10 kms from the GPO. That's one of the reasons our supporter base is so low and one of the oldest in age. We seem to look down on people who live out here, I live in Pakenham and cant make training at Goshs paddock, but I enjoy the reports put on this site from Dees supporters. But hold training or match practice out here and the noses rise a bit higher. Come out breathe the air , we are people and Dees supporters out here too.
  8. In the money section of last night, PJ mentioned $124,000 returned to the MFC from an insurance company. He said it was to do with an AFL investigation. I can only assume it was the tanking. Does anybody have any idea what this is about?
  9. People write and say the 34 players were pressured or forced to undergo the injections, they did the TEAM thing. Young new to the game players followed the older team mates. Nobody checked with ASADA on their phones or computers . QUESTION. What about the other players on the list, about a dozen or so, did they refuse? Were they asked? Or are they the smart ones who didn't go to sleep during the drug lectures they must all attend. I assume all listed players were given the waiver forms but some didn't sign, why? I would love to know.
  10. Has anyone got a copy of the " self reporting" conference? Essendon even way back then was trying to distance itself from the accusations. As I remember it the three Essendon officials were backed by an AFL sheet board not Essendons. Also not one piece of Essendon clobber was on show. Not Hird nor anybody else even wore an Essendon tie, zip , nothing. How often do you see any teams officials appearing on TV or anywhere without team clobber. Even at that early stage they were in denial.
  11. If Watson is found guilty does that mean he will have to hand back his Brownlow?
  12. Why do we have to " grow " the sport? Why cant we enjoy the sport and game? TV destroyed the NRL attendances, look at what they get thru the gates in Sydney. So what if soccer does well in outer western Sydney, who cares! There is no national sport in Australia, not one sporting competition has a home team in Tasmania, a state of Australia, so by definition no national sport. Answer me this , do you follow the AFL or the MFC? I know I follow the mighty Demons not the AFL and if because of less money from TV deals is available for the sport I will still follow the mighty DEES. If they played in the outer eastern league not the super must continually expand AFL I would still be there. Is GWS good for FOOTBALL not TV or AFL. Football, There is a difference, Vlad wouldn't think so but there is. To continually get the crowds they are getting isn't growing the sport, I have seen bigger pie lines at the G than they get thru the gate. As for whats his face I have no problem him going to GWS but he lied to a dying man, so as a person he is a SKUMBAG! And thank you Sheedy we nearly got landed with him.
  13. Whatever Pedo has in his water bottle this year I want a crate load of. From being a train wreak last year to a solid team player this year is amazing. The next time you see JKH play watch the speed he gets to his feet after a contest to compete again, I cant remember anybody so fast as him regaining his feet and getting to the next contest. GREAT WIN.
  14. First up I don't know if he will go or stay. But I believe Roos has decided to give our back line a years trial without Frawley to look and learn to play as a unit. Roos has said before that this year is about looking at our list and learning. If chip goes we have an extra year into our backline if he stays we have a stronger back unit.
  15. It seems to me the AFL have just exposed themselves to future possible defences for thugry. Would we be where we are now if Lynch was not injured? NO So it is the result of the action not the action itself that is the determining factor. So if you belt somebody and that player keeps on playing with no perceived effects of the thump, there is no harmful result hence nothing illegal has been done. Logical yes AFL no. The way the AFL is going it is handing the biggest amount of help to soccer and the arl that it can. Those 2 bodies must be laughing as the AFL does its very best to get its supporters offside.
  16. DB only argument for the suspension is that the rules say blah blah and so he must be found guilty. The rules are always right. The good old sgt Schultz quote, "I know NOTHING" Only obeying the rules is an argument that was dismissed at the Numerberg war trials in the late 40s. Even in the military since the mid 70s you can disobey an order if you consider it illegal but you will wear the consquences latter if you are wrong! What I am trying to say is if his only argument is "I am only obeying orders" he is half a century out in his thinking [ if he can in fact think]
  17. Standing up at the game and as the crows supporters were leaving yelling at them to CLEAR THE CARPARKS. Boy did I get a response, I just laughed and told them to stay and sing our song. Just loved it.
  18. If the outcome is worse than the act i.e. a possible broken jaw verses a side on bump, how did Maxwell not even get sighted for breaking a Geelong players jaw in the pre season comp? Oh that's right he is one of Eddies boys. Didn't he knee him or kick him in the jaw? Also by the way, spoke to Wattsy over the fence after the game and he was really stocked. I asked him was the feeling worth the effort, he just grinned ear to ear. I think something might be starting to get into his head. Hope so ,we need an active Jack Watts.
  19. I have approx. 90% of all winning games between 1987 and now. I have missed a few mainly when my video machine was down. In that lot would be about 20 name a games the rest would be recorded off of TV. The quality of some leaves a lot to be desired, recorded from VHS to disk. In a few years time I will give them all away as my daughters don't want to have to go through my wifes and my nick nacks and dispose of them. A lot of MFC nick nacks will be given away to a good MFC home. Better than daughters chucking them away. I collect MFC throwaway items, eg all them paperwork and proxy voting forms from the merger, all the different car stickers MFC has issued except I missed 1993, DAM. A lot of the old teamworks mags, annual reports, membership cards as well as the footy cards etc.
  20. As to Jordies eff and accuracy, please watch the first qtr of the game again. We scored 3 gls for the qtr, Jordie supplied 2 pinpoint passes for 2 of those gls. The ones to Chip and Dawes. Cant kick , cant run, cant do anything but grab. Oh yee of little faith but then we could always use that speedstar Trentgove on Ablett. GOOD MOVE
  21. As you can see I proudly wear the number 13 on my back so I guess I am biased. Every player has a roll, whether you are chip or Bail, spencer or Jordie. Jordie carries out his role better than anybody else in the team can. We expect the players to improve under Roos but doom Jordie to every lasting fire and brimstone. He will naturally improve as the midfield around him improves, more run and confidence to get the ball out to. Could Watts do his job? NO because it isn't his role, each to his own. And finally if every MFC player tried as hard as Jordie does all the time we wouldn't be taking our holidays in September we would be watching our boys run round the G. My avatair photo was taken in September, anough said.
  22. In my opinion, Frawley and his manager should be asked to meet with the MFC footy department. At that TAPED meeting he should be asked if the newspaper article is correct and he is asking $800000 to move to a new club. A yes or no answer. If he says yes its correct the MFC should offer him a 4 year deal of $700000 a year plus possible bonuses. Ifs he refuses the deal and still intends to move on next year, tell his manager and him thanks for coming in to talk and wish him a merry Christmas. After he has left the room the MFC should drop him to Casey and leave him there for the rest of the year. With the rest of the year we should use it to get our backline organised and decisions on draft replacements thought over.
  23. Three things out of last week [ I think] 1. Frawley is just going through the motions to see out the year and get to his next club, uninjured. 2 Nick nat throws the ball a lot. I think I have seen more thrown balls this year than ever before. 3. The eagles runner shepards a lot as well, I watched him a fair bit and he just seemed to get between a demon player and his man, funny that.
  24. We are talking about gws mids, what happens to TS when he comes out of contract? As I see it gws IF they keep him will want a massive pay decrease out of him. His stats arnt all that flash in a winning side, and his skill and football wise being over taken by a lot of better gws mids.
