At worse he should get a reprimand/warning that he has to avoid doing it in the future. He is a young gun with no record to speak of, and 2 weeks is a joke.
-
This club seriously cannot catch a break sometimes. Losing Grimes for the year is a massive blow.
-
It might not be a direct quote, and I may have added a word for emphasise. The point is, football is getting softer and softer.
-
When that tackle occured, I said to my Dad "he will get suspended for that" to which he replied "you're [censored] joking me aren't you?". I am all for protecting the player, but there was no malice in what was a brilliant tackle. A warning would have sufficed to let Trengove know that he needs to avoid holding the opposition player's arm and slinging him to the ground.

Jones can be unclean at times but he tries his heart out and is easily in the best 22.

7 votes for Trengrove for his tackle on Dangerfield.

We need to bring the same intesnsity next week
Samsara replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
A great performance today, but you're right. The same effort and intensity needs to be bought to the table next week. And we need to capitalise on our chances. We totally dominated the whole match but only dominated the score board in the second half today. -
Intensity, tackling, pressure. Moloney - you [censored]rippa
-
Awesome performance.
-
Carn the might Dee's, show the football world that last week was an aberration on a path to ultimate glory. Need to shake the soft, nice guy image that the club has.
-
Ask them why they are so [censored]. Joking. Will be interesting to hear from Viney regarding how the club is performing, on and off the field, at the moment.

What do you want to see from the players this week?
Samsara replied to P-man's topic in Melbourne Demons
While I certainly want some physical presence, having half the team suspended or reprimanded is hardly going to help our cause. -

Desire, passion, effort, determination, physical effort, grunt, heart. One or more of these would be lovely. More, of course, would be better. -
Most moderators on this forum do a great job and only delete material that breaks a COC rule. And they usually offer an explanation as to the reason for the moderation. Some, though, may have succumbed to the influence the moderation title has on their ego and use their 'power' to moderate outside of what is expected according to forum rules. You get this with any forum. If you want total free speech, best start your own forum and make yourself a moderator. On a side note, Nathan Jones is entitled to his opinion, just as player X would be who beleive that Osama is little more than a scapegoat who has probably been dead for years. You can't really complain about moderating when you are, in essence, trying to moderate what Nathan Jones can and cannot say on his own personal social networking account.

While I agree that we should continue to support the club and back them through the ups and downs, it is hardly accurate to label some (justifiably) annoyed and angry supporters as 'giving up' when it has been 10 years since we last played in a GF and 47 since we actually won a premiership. Melbourne will come out firing this week I think, and show that world what they are capable of. It's whether they can continue with it that is the concern.

In that context, I do understand your position. Both Melbourne and Essendon have smashed GC, but Essendon have done it more convincingly by kicking 15 in the first quarter and the final margin is likely to be 20 goals plus easily.
-
I don't think it matters when you score the goals, we still performed well against the Suns in my opinion. GC beat Essendon in the second quarter today 5.2 to 3.0 by the way. Still, 15 goals in the first quarter pretty much seals it. edit: also impressed with Essendon. Just goes to show you that a change in coach and admin can do wonders for a list. Essendon will trounce the Dee's in a few weeks.
-
No, we do not.
-
Position on the ladder matters little this early in year. Only matters at the end of the final round. We have only beaten Brisbane (just) and Gold Coast, so not a lot to ride home about. OUr two losses have both been poor. This week against Adelaide will be very interesting.
-
When does the seniors game start?
-
The thing that pisses me off is that you can tell other clubs perceive Melbourne as being soft and an easy kill. It also annoys me that we tend to always concede 5 or so goals in the first quarter while we slowly wake from a coma.
-
I feel the same mate. I curse my Dad too for doing this to me. And I love this club. I tell myself not to get emotionally invested but I can't help it. Slowly though, I am becoming more distant due to the players being soft as a snakes underbelly.

Tonight is the turning point for the MFC.
Samsara replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
I feel your pain. I didn't expect us to win tonight but I expect us to be competitive and not to be made to look like absolute imbeciles out on the ground. -
Liked Watts' game but the team, overall was nothing short of insipid. I love this club, but they lack spirit and are bloody soft. I really cannot tolerate the how 'we are developing' argument after that performance. Frawley was terrible, Green has gone missing, Sylvia useless. No one seemed to want the ball or to be accountable. Honestly, Scully should take the money and leave this shambles of a team.

I checked the page before and the basic package is $44 per month and the Sports package is an additional $16 per month (this includes about 6 current sporting channels plus it should include the new Foxtel AFL). This means you will need to fork out about 60$ per month. This assumes you cannot just get the sports package. When I used to have Austar, you had to have the basic package at a minimum.
