  1. I don't believe Neeld (or perhaps not Schwabby either) would call in because it only gives that weasel denham oxygen. Better just ignore him and turn off. You argue with fools and......
  2. I heard talk that Schwabby had purposely fed journo/s significant misleading info. Don't know what that info was, but I bet it's a driving force behind that fool denham's clear attempt to discredit MFC. Petty payback which makes denham look childish. Apologies old dee, don't know how to link to a comment from another thread... old dee, on 04 November 2011 - 09:57 AM, said: I heard him this morning at approx. 9.30 he was asked why do you hate the MFC so much? His answer: Some CEO's go out of their way to help and provide info and others lie! So there, now we know what his problem is!
  3. Sums it up perfectly. ^^^^
  4. If Denham does any investigating (a big if...) he probably glances over 'land and would be aware that we rant about his rants. And he'd love the fact he's getting a response. He's a nobody journo with a radio voice as flat and interesting as a corpse. Obviously stirring the pot to get as much reaction as possible. His radio career is only based upon creating a reaction to his so-called controversial opinions, in the hope of becoming a 'personality' and increasing listeners. Then he becomes in demand for comments. He has no substance. Its not working, and resorting to childish name calling (Melbourne Bears) is a further sign of his desperation. Turn off or change station for 30 mins and he will soon disappear.
  5. I believe Sellar is a keeper. Plays his best football in defence where he can run straight at the ball looking ahead. Keep: Dunn, Gys, Morton, Sellar, Strauss, Bail, Magner, Joel Mac, Jetta and Martin (unless traded) Trade/delist: Cook, Bate, Sheehan, Davis, Couch, Bennell, Petterd, Barty (knee pending) Gawn: Green, Beamer, Riv, Jurrah, Lawrence This is all guesswork, of course - I've got no idea what will happen.
  6. Yes, we need a mid. Agreed. But if Grundy was available, it would be very hard to pass him up. He would be behind Martin, Gawn and maybe Spencer in 2013, moving up the order in 2014. And there are many here who have no idea why we gave a 3 yr deal to a 29 yr old, injury plagued big man who has had one good season in 10 and averages about 2 maks per game.
  7. I've said this before, but how about Jamar to GWS for pick 14 and a deal that they leave Grundy for us at pick 4? We get Grundy, a mid at 14, Viney in 2nd round.
  8. Gotcha. So what's origanal? Didn't realise the timing of update. Apologies.
  9. Updated OP says Gumby still on the table. I was sure I read he had come to terms with the Bummers for a 1 yr deal and had rejected a 2 yr offer from others.
  10. Wish it were that easy PaulRB.
  11. Martin averages twice as many marks as Jamar, so what does that say about Jamar if Martin can't mark? While Jamar kills him for taps, he also kills most of his taps by dropping them to his feet. Lets face it, about all Jamar does well is tap it to his feet. Around the ground he's mostly useless. One good season in his whole career and we think he's a trade untouchable? I'm not a great Martin fan, but neither do I think Jamar is our future. Which one has more trade value? Jamar.
  12. Yes. Pedersen looks ok, but if he's unwanted at Norf then only offer them 49. He's contracted, so we take that worry off their hands. We need run and carry desperately. While I'm not all that thrilled with F Ray, he fits a need well. Quick, experienced and comes from a sucessful club. I'd rather trade Martin for Ray or the like than trade Martin's trade pick for Pedometer.
  13. Leuenberger and Billy Longer. Would have thought Martin would not be top of the heap there. Not a big heap, granted. Can't see him going, especially seeing he's studying law here.
  14. Saying what? There is also a Chinese ex volleyballer/basketballer that has good (very) raw skills with an unbelievable jump. Anyone know how developed his footy skills are? Here's some basic info... http://www.news.com.au/sport/afl/chen-seeks-jump-into-afl-at-draft-camp/story-fnelctok-1226488494047
  15. And a box of man sized tissues.
  16. 'Shenanigans' sums up Dunn's toughness to a tee. However, I also think he could be a useful role player in 2013 and he has versatility, which Neeld clearly likes.
  17. Agree. Clearly, he needs to go to a club where he has a shot at being no 1 ruck. Otherwise it's just Groundhog Day for him.
  18. And we have way too many of those. Think he may be on the chopping block due to injuries.
  19. Except for that Dipper is of Italian lineage...
  20. In most drafts, trading away pick 63 is like giving the charity tin rattlers a few 5c pieces. Not worth much, prob just getting rid of late picks we are unlikely to get much for or use.
  21. Clubs will learn to manipulate the system based on what we have seen this FA period. It is designed to give single-club players greater freedom, but in time, the clubs will work it out and own it. What will become commonplace is the weaker clubs will want to trade for FAs rather than just take them, like Port did. They will then maximise their compo when they lose FAs to the power clubs. FA players seek money and/or success. Alternatively, weaker clubs will trade players who have been with them for 6-7 years before they become FAs, eg. players from interstate. Clubs like Coll and the Cats will want to take as many FAs as they can, because they're more likely gain than lose FA players - they have $ and are successful. Or...... All clubs could just collude and agree quietly not to take FAs and simply trade players instead.... a safety net that gives them greater control over what they get for losing a player. Currently, compo is decided by the AFL based on factors that, in our case, we had little control over. Riv take a pay cut for success and we get a crappy compo pick in return. Byrnes gets a pay rise coming to us and compromises our net FA gain. Just some musings on how this may pan out in the next 12-24 mths....
  22. The lack of transparency in the AFLs conclusions is mind boggling. In an effort to keep players contract $ private, they have got the fans offside. Riv and Beamer must be getting paid 2 live chickens and stale loaf of bread, while we must be paying Byrnes a ton of caviar and 100 crates of French bubbly, by that reckoning.
  23. I thought Stef Martin was studying law? Isn't it the popular thing to say that you won't move interstate because of studies? Stef Martin palming down to Brent Moloney..... Brisvegas are in for another poor year.
  24. Geez, they're pretty damning stats. I still don't believe that Martin is the long term answer, but I now kinda think that Jamar is neither of short term or long term benefit. I think I'd rather Gawn/Martin with Grundy (if we can get him) in 2013, then Grundy and Gawn in 2014. MFC - talk to GWS about taking Jamar, giving us a 1st rounder and leave Grundy for pick 4. This, of course, means we won't take Wines/Toumpas/O'Rourke etc with pick 4, leaving our midfield undermanned for another year.
