My god, Bail and Nicho's kicking are appalling. What the hell do the players do at training? Prance around like prize stallions? I've seen the Filth look far better on Goshes Paddock than we do on a Sat arvo at the G.
Too many times players managed to f**k up great link work with TERRIBLE disposal. Bate and Howe were also cringe worthy.
Not many positives from the day, Tigers poor kicking excepted

Hate to say it, but Spencil looked 1000 times better today than last week. Tried hard, got in front, tacked hard. Considering how shite we were, he showed more effort than many on the list. Still has the appearance and coordination of a startled giraffe on the run. Can't see him making the cut.
Not wanting to compare, but Big Cox's last quarter against the Roos shows how a champion ruck can win a game on his own, just about. Spencil would do well to watch that tape.

Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane...
or so said my Richmond mate today.

He'll do 2 Saturdays at the canteen for the Yarrawonga pigeons.
On a serious note, would this act impact on a new contract or make other clubs shy away from him?
No.

exactly what I was thinking
Simpson will be reprimanded for severe high shoulder contact.

Thread should be named "Wellingham is weak".
Thought it was a cheap, easy hit.

Obviously you say it in jest, but I think worse decisions could be made than having jnr running around showing gysberts morton and blease what it means to be a real midfielder...dumping him was one of the worst decisions the club has made in a period of many poor choices
Hindsight.
What's done is done.
Let's move on, hey.

Funnily enough it also unsettles my wife!
Stop stealing her make up then!

Many of the comments above refer to the fact that Junior has not experienced a premieship or come from a successful side - that is fair enough. However, what we have is a bloke of limited natural ability who has made the most of his talents to play 250 + games of footy and earn respect everywhere. I reckon that is just the determination and desparation that our players need to learn.
Like your point of view. It's your avatar that I find unsettling though........

Given that Ling has very successful pubs and other businesses in Geelong (and not to mention a blooming media career), a venture into coaching would potentially be at a financial sacrifice. If he was to coach, he would be well aware of what he would be missing out on.
Wish other ex greats who could be v good coaches thought the same

Thank Christ we have Spence to cover for him!

[censored] get 9 lives. He's got his quota.

Is Ratts leaving the sinking ship?
'left' as in 'parted company/ sacked/ terminated their working relationship/etc'
-
Great bloke.
But better to get someone from a background of club success, ie. someone from outside.
Don't think Neeld is a believer of the MFC old boys club
-
I would imagine Neeld has his 2013 sights on players that would be part of our longer term climb to a potential flag.
Lynch has only one or, at the most, two years left.
If he were 26-27... yes.
At 30... no.

Brereton was an infinitely better footballer than he is media commentator now. I cringe when I hear his 'special' comments.
I think people should take what he says with a grain o salt.
However, it is disappointing to see RP not on the park developing as we had hoped. Remember the widespread relief when he re-signed and didn't go to GCS? Too much talent to stay in the magoos for long. He'll be back.
-
Well if Ratts left the Poos, perhaps Ling would be on the senior radar there. If he's that good, why not?
Doesn't have the assistant stepping stone yet, but he's fresh out of a very successful club in which he was premiership captain in his final year.

Anyone got a link for replay or footage of championships?
Have not seen these boys play.

blues are experiencing the axe-drop on a tall poppy syndrome. 7 weeks ago they were flag favourites now its doomsday. theyll have a good win soon and it will be backflip city blah blah passion redemption etc
just garbage media and short-attention-span culture fuelled rubbish. the second things go wrong its pin the tail on the donkey who's getting sacked? pathetic society we live in
You could very well be correct. Probably, in fact.
But....... there is also a reasonable chance he could be available next year.
Is Royal worth keeping or would Ratten be a better option next year, esp if we load up with midfielders in the draft.
I think yes.
-
Agree with a bit of what you are saying, except if he doesn't nominate this year, he isn't eligible to be picked up as a F/S next year (Fairly certain the rules only allow you to nominate once this way, and withdrawing would void him doing it next year) The AFL wouldn't allow this as a loophole. Also... Jack Viney as much as he probably loves MFC, wants to be playing AFL next year, not playing in the VFL...
That was what I understood as well. You only get one year to have the option of being F/S, ie. the year you are eligible to be drafted.

This week takes the cake for bad threads.
School holidays have synced up in Vic, NSW and Qld this week...

And he's huge. If he fell over in the goal square he'd completely cover it!

I'm petitioning for away teams to be "skins," that'll sort out this colour debate once and for all.
What about naked for away team? And what would opponents of the skins team 'grab' in order to lay a tackle (tackle being both the question and the answer, I suppose)

Aren't we splitting hairs, now?

Simon Buckley is getting a game with the Filth reasonably regularly. Not setting the world on fire, but they are developing him. Looks much fitter and more confident than when with us.
At the moment, we couldn't even develop a bad case of jock itch.
