This is a thread on our ruck stocks, right? But I do note your last sentence is consistent with the gist of what I said.

Agreed Dee tox. Our rucks have been thin for some time and injury has highlighted this.

True, but so too can Gawn and Spencil go down injured and Jamar is nearing the end. Their pre season looks promising, but as we all know it's the real stuff that will test them. If Gawn and Jamar have an injury free year we look damaging in the ruck dept. If they get injured, it'll be Spencil and Pedo, that combo frightens me. Our ruck stocks are injury prone and thin IMO. I reckon Dazzle is on the money, Gorringe or Zac Clark are good targets.

Don't get stuck into my mate Jazzy O. Just because he lives south of the Mason-Dixon Line and his nearest neighbour has 6 toes on each foot doesn't mean he can't have a worldly view on the lifestyle of a hipster!

Hird was reported on the news tonight (interviewed at their training session today) that he hopes the provisional suspensions can be sorted out or lifted in time for the NAB Cup.

How terrible for Geelong to only make the finals over the next 10 yrs or so, perhaps top 4. I feel very sorry for them.

Many think the role of a ruckman to be overrated, but I actually think it can be the most influential position on the ground. A good midfield can adapt to their ineffective ruckman by working off the opposition big man. Hawthorn have done this well in the past. But a very good ruckman such as Cox, Sandi or (dare I say it) Jolly in their prime years were often a litmus test for the team's form. A big man who can tap well, take important marks, kick well and run out a game are gold. We need Gawn or King to develop into this or trade for one. Jamar has only 1 or 2 yrs left and Spencer isn't it.
