  1. Dazz and his missus were on TV tonight interviewed on that terrible Current Affair. Lump is benign, cyst only. Phew!
  2. Viney, Stretch, Lovett, Davey, Lyon... maybe even a Stynes! To quote the Blues Brothers...."we're getting the band back together"
  3. If the bone wasn't regularly presented then there would be nothing to gnaw dc.
  4. Mo64's point was valid. For Spencer to drop a sitter and then fumble to recover straight after is an example of what he thought of his training today.
  5. There goes his Brownlow chances in 2015. Guess he'll have to just accept 4 over his career instead of 5...
  6. If he was a skinny runt I'd say it gives him the opportunity to bulk up in the gym and get a bit of strength into his frame. But alas...
  7. Exactly old chap. Thanks to all those who did detailed reports so far today.
  8. Thanks for your great write up mo64, balanced and objective. Don't listen to those who diss. Please attend more sessions.
  9. Who are the medicos on land who can give us considered views as more info comes to hand (as opposed to dismissive put downs)?
  10. There should be no reason why the training thread cannot be about training and this thread about Petracca's knee. Or do we want the training thread to be all about Petracca? There is also no need for some here to herd posters onto the training thread only to be told by the mods to keep on thread topic when the Petracca talk goes into wider discussion (which it will). Let it go Saty please.
  11. Collingwood fans stand for a very long time on the dental care wait list.
  12. I just can't see development improve his skills much beyond where they currently are. Hope I'm wrong, but it's easier to work on improving a 18-21yo than a 27yo AFL player. Great that he's training the house down though.
  13. You speak for me too Wiseblood. We all would be thrilled to see Matt Jones be part of the team resurgence upward but at 27 it's very difficult to improve the areas of disposal and decision making which are his big weaknesses. Personally, I'd be very concerned if we were climbing the ladder over the next few years and guys like M Jones, Terlich and Bail were still regulars in the side. I haven't chatted to Roos or the players about this, but I have observed them closely on match day when it counts. Glad to see them giving their all at training, competition for spots is great, but the real stuff starts April 4, we will find out where they are at in the weeks after that.
  14. Nail on head.
  15. The fewer the facts, the stronger the opinion.
  16. Agreed. I'm a Fitzy fan and think there are a lot of positives for a guy of 200cm, but equally some glaring deficiencies. If he can improve even a little on a couple of those there might be a regular spot in 2015. He is still very young for a big man, 24 I think. Would benefit from 6-8 consecutive games.
  17. Winning games will do wonders for our street cred, but we must also ensure that our off field stability continues. Clubs with a strong and experienced board, CEO and senior staff tend to ooze strength and more often than not are financially stable (maybe not Power, after posting their latest loss). When confidence, stability and good management start at the top, it usually filters through all aspects of the club and creates the nucleus of healthy culture. We are seeing that emerge now. Obviously we need to win games and continue to recruit the right players and develop those we have, but as we've seen in the dark years, the wrong people in senior club positions can destroy morale. What's that saying about the fish rotting from the head first.......
  18. Agreed. Guys like Matt Jones, Dean Terlich and Ro Bail, who we love for giving their all, are always going to be depth in a good side. It's just we are not there yet and must play some of them too often IMO. We've gone past Nico, Tappy and Evans, love them or hate them. There's probably another 5-6 that will go in October. AFL is a cutthroat industry that doesn't stop.
  19. Thanks for your write up Bob. How was Hoges travelling out there? ("By foot" doesn't count )
  20. Would rather we poach another top notch midfielder such as Danger. That would be a far greater need. Rance is good, but.....meh.
  21. The eyes have it will, only ours have been cross eyed for the last 6 years...
