  1. We had 2 inside 50's in the first quarter, surely a new low. I saw Stephen Newport on the train home and begged him to come back.
  2. I think your anger would better directed at the AFL than the club in this instance BBO. I spoke to the club today when I booked my reserved seat and it's completely out of their hands. Obviously it's the league that makes the deal with the stadium, and does the fixture, and a combination of AFL / ground management that decides whether Level 3 is open or closed, and even dictates which bays / rows are allocated to MFC members. I booked the reserved seat on the wing, and was disappointed to learn that we only have the front 3 rows to choose from. Pretty shitty seats given that I fork out more than $500 for a premium membership, and the extra $10 for the Etihad reserved seat, and yet still have to sit virtually on the ground. The club was sympathetic to my annoyance (not that it was much consolation).
  3. Neitza? Cracker? Other than that, it's a pretty stock standard Mike Brady footy song, not sure why there's so much angst..
  4. He also released an album in the early '80's called Hall of Fame: The Songs of Football's Greatest Sons that had songs about players such as John Nicholls, Polly Farmer, Peter Hudson, EJ and Ron Barassi. Was the soundtrack to my childhood and I still remember many of them by heart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugfwoWNWuP4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFtZHDUqc7E
  5. You should have received an email from the club about this a few weeks ago. Premium members do not have a reserved seat this week, just entry to the ground. You can pay $10 for a reserved on the wing on level 1. As far as I know, level 3 will be closed. Level 2 is best, but it's expensive, somewhere between $30-$50.
  6. Great idea! Let's bring up the tanking saga again.. *shakes head*
  7. ...nah Viney - our best mid
  8. The tagline for this thread is spot on - it is a very hyperthetical ..
  9. Or close to ..
  10. Surprised he managed to play out the game after the knock to the knee - it looked horrific on the slo-mo
  11. Jack Viney, how I love thee
  12. Equally, it was rare to look at the ins and think: 'yeh, he should be promoted'..
  13. yep, we need more players who are amphibious
  14. Yep. Remember Andy Collins tackling Hawthorn team-mate Tony Hall in the 1989 State of Origin, resulting in a serious knee injury to Hall which required a total knee reconstruction? It didn't cost them the flag, but Hall was never the same player after that.
  15. La esperanza muere ultima ... Hope dies last
  16. Caught behind all day, forward and back, absolutely unforgivable in wet conditions. Lost count of the number of times a quick kick fell short into a Geelong player's arms, standing 5 + metres in front of their Melbourne opponents.
  17. Reality bus? More like a ghost train. Craig has brought them back to life.
  18. Agreed. And I'd prefer someone with "a heart as big as the MCG" rather than someone whose heart is merely as big as Phar Lap's.
  19. Careful. Go through the entire litany and you'll end up with pneumonia.
  20. So many possessions. So much of the play. So many inside 50s. So many goals to jump and down about. Haven't enjoyed a game like that for ages! Go Dees! Ps. I don't think we ran out of legs - I think we thought it was all over and basically came to a standstill. Thank god they hung on.. it was so good to sing the song again...
  21. 6. Garland 5. McDonald 4. N Jones 3. Clisby 2. Spencer 1. Watts
  22. Cool story bro. But I was talking about Pederson and Dunn
  23. Holy cow indeed.. these two make baby Jesus cry.
  24. It's been replaced by the fear that if we try to do it ourselves again we'll f#$k it up and wipe the club out of existence before the decade is out.
