Speaking of the jumpers - anyone know if the red has been deepened/fabric fixed? At the end of last season they STILL looked pink on TV...
-
Clark? Jurrah? + the rookies and Fitz/Cook, we have a lot of forwardline players developing already... and what if something happens to chip? We'll have no-one to play on the big forwards (Garland does an alright job, Rivers... no, and no more Warnock).
-
Is Tom Mcdonald still training with the forwards? anyone know? Second in the time trial... I still hope to see him and Frawley being our unstoppable backs in two-three years time.
-
Someone who wanted to go home, but chose to come to us instead cos we offered him a boatload of money... captain?? no thanks. Would prefer someone who loves the club (Moloney) and/or has been with us from the start.

Narrowing in on either Grimes or Trengove for Captain
rhaz replied to mdemonski2's topic in Melbourne Demons
Trengove - 2 seasons - 37 games (should have 40 but got rubbed out for 3 for that tackle!!) Grimes - 4 seasons - 32 games Cant have a greater claim if you cant get on the park. At the end of this year, you may be right, but if you ABSOLUTELY HAD to choose between those two and those two only for this season, they'd pick Trengove. -

Frawley from what i can tell... is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Great player, but off field im not sure hes right. Even his cousin Danny has said numerous times that hes got a bit of air in his noggin. I'd rather just let him play and do the hell of a job he has been doing these parts few years. I cant pick yet, from an outsiders view its tough. I know i want Trengove in 2013/14 but i feel he is just not quite ready yet. -
I too want my players overworked and tired before the season even begins. Surely we'll play better if they've been run into the ground!

they're made for the supporters who dont sit on messageboards all day reading about every aspect of preseason... aka the majority of supporters

'Training The House Down' --- Official MFC pre-season updates
rhaz replied to bananas's topic in Melbourne Demons
Tom McDonald done by Brown? That's strange considering he played backline all last year, and with the other tall forwards running around. Still hoping he'll become a key back. -
I reckon Martin has showed he is definitely capable of being a #1 ruck - vs Essendon 2011 - did a very, very good job as first ruck against Hille, Ryder and Bellchambers. Wouldn't want him there permanently but he could cover for injuries for quite a while with help from Clark/Sellar/Tom McDonald

MFC list now if Neeld took the helm in 2008
rhaz replied to Ron Burgundy's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Neeld took over in 2008, perhaps we would've got more wins, or less wins, and therefore different draft picks... so maybe we would've have got Trengove, or not been able to trade for Clark, taken Lucas instead of Gysberts... it goes on and on and on Maybe having Bailey not do so well, and having the Geelong result, was actually a good thing for the club - a kick up the arse. Lets just deal with our list now (which i personally am very happy with) and see what Neeld can do with it. -
How much do SANFL players get paid? Considering hes from Vic and has been living here, its a decent move just to play SANFL..

Tom McDonald can pinch hit too, did it for Casey a fair bit from memory?

Why would you want to feed him carbs to put on size

Dont want your players stuffed before the season has even started though. There is a fine line between pushing yourself and overtraining.

Team Selections delayed in 2012 - thanks to channel 7!!
rhaz replied to Vagg's topic in Melbourne Demons
Read teams at 5pm, then spend the trip home from work deciding what words you're going to use in your hateful post on Demonland regarding selection -
3 practice games at Casey, thats alright. Turn that place into a fortress!

Got rid of Maric after 4 seasons and he was an early 2nd rounder. Talls get more time... Juice was ridiculous though.
-
[censored] i hope so. 23 is my birthdate and has subsequently always been my favourite number. Get to put it on my jumper for 2 reasons!
-
Cook would be trade material only... but to trade a first round KPP after 2 years would be very, very unlikely. Spencer is 100% gone. Guys like Bennell and Jetta i reckon they'd be happy to risk losing by attempting to acquire again through the rookie draft. Green will hopefully retire. Dunn could possibly be traded to GWS for a late pick in the same way Warnock was?
-
OF COURSE ITS MODESTY. i think almost any young male footy fan/player would be thinking the same thing... basically saying he'd appreciate even 1 year on a list, but would obviously love many more!

Grimes insurance policy. Sounds good. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCH CLARK
rhaz replied to waynewussell's topic in Melbourne Demons
I admit, i haven't seen a whole lot of Clark play, but everyone talks about him being a big bodies pack-crashing forward. Is he really strong through the core? Because he doesn't LOOK that big, and most other players of his height/intended position are like 102-6kg+ whereas he is 98kg. -
Neeld said he CAN, not WILL, step right into the team. Get your facts right.
-
Can we move any more onto the veterans list? Jamar/Davey im thinking? Dunn and Spencer are the only players i can think of that are almost a surety to get delisted. Green might retire. Bennell will have to show more. Bate - it'll be interesting to see what happens, but we all know that Maric blitzed it last pre-season and look where he ended up.
