  1. Heard Col and Byron Pickett will be the "Big Fishes"
  2. Little confused when people start bantering around 'loyalty' and money in the same sentence. The two operate in different spheres altogether. If your current employer that you've been working for 6 years said you're worth $50 an hour and all of a sudden a recruitment agency said another 3 or 4 companies are looking to acquire your services for $75. WHY would you feel loyal to your current employer when they're offering you less? Clubs don't keep paying these guys bills post retirement.
  3. finally someone on this forum sees the reality. Jones gets the toughest gig week after week tagging the opps' best onballer. He played his best when Baloney was injured and he was able to get the ball and use it. As for his disposal, I saw him do some daisy cutters this season that most of other Dees onballers (Davey excepted) can only dream about. Stop looking at stats. When you get the ball you can either chip it 20 meters sideways or try and hit a more difficult target. That's why Davey and Jones make more mistakes than those who only chip it sideways. (best example, our recently retired (and Danihers love child) Nathan Brown. Everyone's entitled to their opinion but try to base them on what happens on field and not stats or observations of media nuff nuffs eg Walls, Sheahan, Darcy etc.
  4. I noticed a couple of things while watching the kangas game with the seagulls in the stands, ie the north boys were bigger and stronger (but not better) than our boys and therefore Moloney has his upside. Also, Jamar was beaten all game and therefore Maloney struggled. I am of the opinion that during this season Moloney's form is totally dependent on Jamar's dominance in the ruck. Therefore whoever is Jamar's target will win possesion if Jamar rucks well ie Moloney or anyone else.
  5. yeah, would be good if Neale got the gig at the bummers. 10 years of mediocrity then leave them with the weakest list in the comp. Yeah I'd enjoy seeing them go thru what we went thru.
  6. forgot to add... but you're right about the years to become top 4.
  7. I'm getting old but I seem to have a recent memory of doing ok against the maggies this year??
  8. sorry, my mistake, agreed with everything except the line about Johnson. Been talking him up for years actually, nice kick and fast for his size, just needs to hold onto more marks. Needs to be played to increase his confidence as with Watts.
  9. why does anyone worry about what Mike thinks? My wife has a better understanding of footy!
  10. I too am sick of reading ignorant opinion that he doesn't use the ball. I was there today and can remember one disposal, left foot pass, that was intercepted by the opposition. I'll watch the replay to double check. No changes for next week. The only players who were down ie Jam, Syl, Bartram have been our better players of late. Leave the team as is.
  11. not that I think he's a [censored] but wouldn't care if he was. The kid's got more class, vision and skill than most and just needs a big self belief tablet to be stuffed down his throat. Also, just like to admit I was wrong re Joel Mac.
  12. as they say in the British Parliament "here here"
  13. yes, and all those players you've mentioned are better now than they were then. Maloney isn't in and never has been in the same league. Re best 22 I stated a la Julia, moving foward. Don't care bout this year, next year or the one after. Near 50 years of mediocrity or worse. Hope we're building towards a winning a premiership not a repeat of 2000.
  14. No 1 for clearances cause he gets the job each week to rove to Jamar. He's a long way from No 1 with effective disposals. Shows how far we are from mixing it with the best when our perceived best onballer couldn't get a gig at the cats.
  15. yeah with Maloney in for Jones I'm looking foward to watching Baloney puffing his chest out and trying to run thru opponents then getting caught and giving a handball to put a team mate under pressure or kicking a long bomb to nobody. Jones started playing better as soon as Maloney left Suby' cause he was released from his tagging duties. Yes he needs to improve aspects of his game like giving away dumb free kicks but take off your rose coloured glasses when watching the captain and maloney. I don't think either are in our best 22. "moving foward".
