MFC players you're most looking forward to watch in 2012
DemonWA replied to Dee-Bortoli's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree, that richmond game was a cracker. Whilst theres no doubt he needs to find more of the ball, he's one of those players that only needs to get the ball a few times a quater to have an impact. Rarely wastes a disposal. -
Mine; FB: Bartram Frawley Bennell HB: Garland Rivers Grimes C: Jones Gysberts Green HF: Howe Watts Petterd FF: Davey Clark Jurrah FOLL: Jamar Moloney Trengove INT: Bail Martin McKenzie (McDonald)

Narrowing in on either Grimes or Trengove for Captain
DemonWA replied to mdemonski2's topic in Melbourne Demons
fair point, but tbh i think the on field role of a captain is basically just to play well and lead by example. An even better spot than the backline to view the play is from the coaches box, and runners make real time adjustments... -
Would be good if true

Stop torturing yourself, man! Live in the now!

Harsh but fair IMO. I've had a few chats with the bloke at the western demons dinner functions in recent years. Hes a nice bloke but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. Grimes has a good head on his shoulders - he'll represent the club well whether its on the field, at a corporate dinner or a local kids meet and greet day. -

Nasher, are you for real? Nit picking - Looking for small or unimportant errors or faults, esp. in order to criticize unnecessarily. IMO the part of the training report wasnt critical to begin with, so even bothing to post about the error is nit picking. And taking it further, E25 could have just said, "who did you mean by this?" or "we dont have a Johnston on the list". However he chose to list out every person with the name similar to Johnston who have played in the last 5 or so years, to make the error seem all the more silly. i'll stand by my comment -

slow day at the office E25? That’s unnecessary pedantic nit picking at its finest -
hasnt stopped him from kicking goals for us since his first game?
-
Jurrah, finds a way to kick goals even when he isnt playing at his best or seemingly cant get into the game

funny you should say that. I was mocked for wearing a gurnsey & number by richmond fans whilst having a few pre game beers at the Transport last season! haha -

#31 - got caught up in the hype of a pretty scripted and cold media conference. Thankfully i was a big Paul Wheatley fan.... -

I'm looking forward to Green & Davey playing good footy and proving the doubters wrong - both quality players and both will benifit from a playing in a more structured side Im looking forward to seeing Trengove further stake his claims as a future A grader Looking forward to seeing Mitch Clark play in the red and blue, and seeing is Sellar was a punt worth taking? -
my favourite biff moments are barry halls cheap shot on Staker and Josh Carr belting Ben Cousins in every Derby they played!
-
worse than the preseason list assesments. I'd actually prefer no updates than rehashed news like these articles

Grimes has had repeated bad runs with injury for his entire career to date. This is fact. How can you state so matter-of-factly that Grimes' body will not continue to let him down?! -
i honestly think that they should have given Fev the fairy tale and picked him up to finish his career in navy blue. Could have been the last piece of the puzzle that they need to be a serious contender, rather than a team that thrashes poor side which allow their mid fielders to kick bags of goals (ie US!)

touch wood!

Jack Grimes is would be a lock the next captain if he wasnt so injury prone, even still he might get it. Having met him, its fair to say he ticks all of the boxes. As a smokie i'd be happy to see given the captaincy given to Col Garland - good communicator, intellegent, backs into packs, does the 1%ers

I rented the 1st one from the video store. some sick [censored] there. Would be interested to see number 2 purley to see how they could possibly continue on from the end of number 1? On a similar note, how gold is the South park episode?!

agree with WJ regarding the WA teams. Eagles played out of their skin in 2011. Freo were injured all year long. Would expect them to be around the same mark this year, both finish just inside or outside the 8
