agreed, #2's a meat head -
maybe Schwaby is getting all nostalgic again regarding the Jumper; bring back the collar, dark blue & blood red, and no sponsor!

Maybe not a complete lost cause but we didn’t exactly sacrifice much to get him on board did we? My hypothetical version of the conversation between the interested parties prior to picking Sellar; Neeld – I’d like to get a big bodied defender on the list, whether its on the rookie list through the draft MFC recruiters – What about James Sellar, delisted by the crows? Neeld - What do you think Craigy? Craig – He fits your bill, big bodied and a defender, maybe through the rookie draft? MFC recruiters – by the time our last pick comes around there will only be [censored] house, skinny kids and Fev left, why not use that pick on Sellar? Neeld – yeah, go on then, why the F#ck not, we’ve got nothing to loose, we’ve got enough skinny kids anyway Craig – don’t blame me if he’s a dud! Basically if he turns out to be any good we've jagged one, and if he doesnt Casey will have a good enough VFL player -
I cant believe the people saying that Cook should be given time, using Ben Reid & Dawesas an exaple to a KPP who took some time to make it big. The glaring difference IMO in this instance is that those fellas were trying to break into a very good collingwood side at the time, so the fact they didnt paly much footy early in their careers was probably due to not being better than some pretty good senior players (presti for Reid etc) rather than taking a long time to develop?

Garry Lyon's six-month rescue mission over
DemonWA replied to Brayshaws' Helmet's topic in Melbourne Demons
Im a fence sitter on this one. No doubt that Garry Lion has helped out the club over the last little while, but I can also see why people would be saying negative things about the set of circumstances that were required in order for him to become involved. He's obviously made some things happen but i wouldnt paint him as the messiah in all of this. If anyone is the unsung hero, its Schwab -
Lucas Cook reminds me of Tony Notte....and thats "Notte" a good thing! After playign a few games for West Coast he now doesnt even get a run in the WAFL

I think Watts is one of those guys who is so talented that they've never really had to "try" inorder to be successful. Problem is for Jack to be the player we hope he will be, he is going to have to bust his gut. Hopefully he will, but time and time again you see highly talented people not fulfill their talent becasue they done have the desire that some other, less talented guys have. -
Narrowing in on either Grimes or Trengove for Captain
DemonWA replied to mdemonski2's topic in Melbourne Demons
yeah i'm not writing Green off as a player just yet, still has a very goot set shot and takes a good grab. I actually dont think he played many really poor games last year. The media got on him in a big way which probably didnt help his form in the latter part of the season. Yes he didnt kick as many as the year before but he wasnt as bad as alot make out -

TBH i find Bail & Strauss are given a massive wrap on this site. Both could be great players for us, but neither of them are quite there yet IMO -

What number to put on my jumper? What do you have?

i reckon the club should put out replica gurnseys, like liverpool did with the old crown paints strip? -
RE Aaron Jetta, if he plays for "Scary Park" then he's allready playing in the red and blue gurnsey! Also his lack of impressive stats might have been due to the fact that the black duck's reserves had a tough year in 2011

looks that way to me, although it could be that alot of the fellas have bulked up themselves, making the juxtapostion less dramatic?! -

i agree with everything apart from the last line. How can anyone with his injury record not be "injury prone"?? What other types of player could this name be given to if not Grimes?! -

DemonWA replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
I hope the guys have improved their times, but lets not get too carried away with time trial results and preseason form in general. Last year it was Maric and Old Dee's mate #7 who were burning on the track and they had underwhelming years.
