  1. Mate, I was there. I know what happened. But please yourself.
  2. He took less money to play with the Hawks. He was atrociously dealt with by MFC. He was a much better player than he was given credit for.
  3. Garry is an ordinary bloke, nothing has changed.
  4. File doesn't load for me. I think a much better analysis is either the "best 22" or "selected 22". I built an excel spreadsheet for this quite a few years ago now but couldn't be bothered updating the information - very time consuming. Where did you get your info or alternatively can you send me the info?
  5. Must be right if Craig said so.
  6. I don't know any of her history but the article had an agenda and this was just an opportunity to promote it as far as I could see.
  7. When I was at school there was an English subject called "Clear Thinking". We had to analyse articles like this and evaluate them. To me this is an emotive article that misses the point. The story was originally about the split of Garry and Billy as best mates because of Garry's affair. The story was about this split, not the affair. It's obviously moved on but if Billy was "ok" with the affair I doubt we'd have heard about it and if we did it would be a little bit of "titillation" to those that heard about it. The story would not have got as much traction as Garry may not have stood down his media commitments. Clearly people have moved on but they were only able to move on because of Billy's initial reaction and that was the starting point. Anyway if you've got a distressed mate I'm not sure many would think Garry did the right thing. It's not about peoples "right" to do things, it's about what's "right" to do for a best mate in trouble. Big fail for Garry.
  8. I agree with all you've said but it didn't address my point. Or maybe I've missed it. Jones stayed when the trajectory was down. He stayed when we were a hopelessly managed basket case. So did Watts by the way and he was subject to the worst of the "bad management". Who says Jesse won't do the same? Who says wins are his criteria? They don't seem to be for Cripps who could have sort much greener pastures. I just don't like putting a tag on Jesse who signed a contract extension well before the current improvement was evident and he doesn't deserve the tag that goes with RPFC's comments.
  9. Jollies! You've got to be joking. Like many here I've been a very long time supporter, I've helped the club as I could both financially and with time and I've never asked for anything in return. There are no jollies in seeing the inept management and decision making that has gone on. Seeing Schwab and his Board hopelessly flawed in their management and seeing blokes like Lyon fiddling where they had no right to - "I'll have to ring my mate Jimmy" after the 186 thrashing which was largely caused by a bitterly divided club who had their head in the sand and didn't understand their roles. They are not "jollies" mo. They are the painful reminders of where we came from and Lyon played a starring role. And then we have someone suggesting he should be made an assistant coach. Some never learn. Give me a break. Lyon was a fantastic footballer for this club and he has given his time at functions and the such. But he's also meddled in affairs that were none of his business and while I will acknowledge his contribution on the one hand I'll recognize his failures on the other.
  10. Hogan will be offered enough money, I think we can assume that. RPFC said "money and wins". Cripps certainly hasn't been offered wins. Nathan Jones stayed for more than money. I think to say a player will only stay if the team wins is presumptuous. Some will and some will stay through loyalty, personal objectives and relationships. We don't know what Hogan will do at this stage and to suggest he will leave only if he gets wins is insulting.
  11. Lyon was a fantastic footballer for MFC albeit his career was curtailed by injury. He has a high degree of self confidence and values his own opinion but he's not as good as he thinks he is. His foray's into footy since his retirement have been disastrous. Great footballer, ordinary bloke. Anybody who knocks off the ex wife of a clearly distressed best friend doesn't have a high level of empathy but does have a high level of self interest. Oh and junior, there is a reason he was never on the Board but I can't say why here. Needless to say it wouldn't have been through lack of desire.
  12. Patrick Cripps says hi. Don't know why you have to tar Hogan with the equivalent of the mercenary tag. He's not done one thing to deserve it.
  13. Pro was referring to the angst in relation to his training on Friday. I didn't see any angst.
  14. I was making the point that they don't always pick a form team. They have their favourites and they have a line through players either now or very early. I reckon Jones and Terlich have a line through their names and something pretty dramatic will have to happen for that line to be removed. Just as McKenzie did last year. Jones is 28 and Terlich is prone to brain fades. Neither should get games this year IMO. They are not future. Oh, and just on the draw. I agree with Pro and yourself that it doesn't mean much. I'm of the view that it's better we don't play the weaker teams twice. We need consistent play against good opposition, not the top teams but that middle group that if we are to be successful we need to be better than. A few cheap wins against weak opposition won't do us any good, consistently good opposition will help us get to their standard and beyond - if we're good enough.
  15. I'm not going to do it Saty because I don't really mind but I reckon you said the same thing last year. Last year McKenzie was very good for Casey week after week and was overlooked while Lumumba was disappointing week after week. Lumumba wasn't dropped and McKenzie wasn't elevated because the coaches knew that Lumumba had a future and McKenzie didn't (I'm not suggesting one for the other BTW). The same thing will happen this year I reckon and Jones and Terlich will only get games if things are very bleak as they fit firmly into the McKenzie situation given a normal run of injury.
  16. Lumumba is a flashy player. He runs like the Roadrunner, if a fantastic physical specimen and of course is easily identifiable meaning we notice everything he does with the ball. I became very disenchanted with him well before most last year. He failed to get the ball 15 times about 10 times last year and only got more than 20 possessions 3 times. He just found it very difficult to get involved in the play. I went off him early when I saw him "misjudge" a lot of overhead marks - he found himself under the ball and unable to impact he contest on numerous occasions. I saw him play lazy defensive footy often not involving himself in the play when it was in his area. He had little if any sense of urgency. His decision making is very ordinary and his vision is poor. My personal opinion is he makes Jack Watts look like Glenn Archer. I'm very aware that when you get negative on a player you see all the poor things the player does but even taking this into account his season last year was unacceptable for a senior footballer brought into the club to be a leader. Having said that I watched the first quarter of the Suns game again recently and saw a bit to like so I'm open minded on him this season but he needs to do some hard things and he needs to show courage in the air. He's very good one on one when the ball is on the ground and he has the playing style to lift his team mates. But if he plays anywhere near the standard he showed last year he should be at Casey because given a fit list he's not in my top 30 at the moment.
  17. Hey Dazzle, it was a compliment mate, not having a crack at you at all, just a conversation. Just took the opportunity to point out the enormous benefit we get from Saty. Pro is a passionate Demon, backs himself and goes hard and early but I like the inside stuff, the stuff that matters to me. I like that Turls played well yesterday but I don't really care. He's not the future and if he is we're crud. I care that Petracca is back into full training in two weeks all going well. I reckon at this stage of the season we all know who's going well. Gawn, Kent etc etc. We all know that to improve on last year we need Salem, Kent, Gawn, AVB, Brayshaw, Tyson and Hogan to all go well but it's really nice to know that injured players are coming back because we need all our good players on the track. I want a fit list and then we'll see how we go. That's my first priority. Saty is the only one that provides it. Thanks Saty. Doesn't mean I'm not interested and really appreciate the efforts of all training track observers.
  18. Hey Dazzle, this is why Saty is the best poster on the site. We get information nobody else provides. Just rumble over the stuff you don't like. BTW, no issue with the way you've responded recently to Saty. First class.
  19. What, so you can listen to Derwayne? DC second to none. Will be missed.
  20. You seem to be at odds with both the Club and the captain. Seeing such a weak culture (in your eyes) must hurt. I hope things get better for you.
  21. Dazzle the reality is those people supporting Viney and loving his aggression (as we all do) would be spitting chips is Terlich did that to Hogan who dislocated his shoulder and missed a season. I can see the meltdown here if that happened. Frankly it's just dumb and it's why the club has told Viney to wind it back and the the skip has given Viney a clip.
  22. I agree, can't see why they wouldn't do it unless there was a good reason. The reality is it's only the fanatics like us that would turn up but I take your point.
  23. But I'm guessing while you're disappointed you'd rather they did it at a time and place that was best for the team.
  24. Thank heavens for that. I thought I'd have to change my view so as not to upset you, delicate thing that you are.
