  1. Moderator or originator: Can you change "tonight" in the header to March 11. Thanks
  2. Public silence, but then who else may he be talking to? Julian Assange?
  3. You wouldn't be suggesting that the AFL lacks......"integrity"? Surely not! I would never have thought that :-)
  4. Pelaco Inquest. Footy Teams 9pm Thursdays ?3AW?
  5. I know it has been a hell of a long time since a flag..........but.....that long??
  6. If Joel McD with all his fumbling is a better bet than Tom McD then our recruitment and development is even worse than many here suggest!! Tynan has had a sniff - didn't fare well but will be better for the exposure despite being in a well beaten team. Couch whilst a rookie isn't a baby and if he deserved a game, they FCS play him! Protecting the youth from what must be expected to be a poor game surely cannot be for real - and remember that the Gys had an extraordinary debut in a badly beaten team vs Geelong and backed it up the following week, so stop this "protection" nonsense.
  7. If he is not named at Casey one would have to assume that he is actually injured. Now possibly, just possibly, an injury may have contributed to his poor showing last weekend. It would seem pretty senseless to "drop"him on form and not give him a game at Casey to get him some match play. It would also not send a necessary message. PS: IF he played with an injury that he didn't report last week, (like he did when ill in the 186 last year), then I think that is a great explanation as to why he was removed from the leadership group. It would make him clearly not a team player. If he is injured and did this, he really should clamber his way back visa Casey and not come straight back in as soon as (he claims) he is over the injury.
  8. I may be wrong but I beleive that Mifsud is a Maltese name, not a middle eastern one as one may suspect at first hearing. Still, when it comes to AFL HQ, the conspiracy theory is always a good starting point. More often right than wrong.
  9. Beautifully written! But are you suggesting yet another full rebuild? I must say that I believe there are too many members and long term followers who may not have the stomach for yet another one, especially so close on the heels of the last (as yet unfinished) one. That together with the club just lying back and being in effect raped by "Mr Integrity" at AFL HQ is nearly enough for me - and I have been very patiently waiting the whole 48 years!
  10. Thomas doesn't need to be there - he knows it all without trying. (tongue further in cheek)
  11. Realistically, to get within 2 goals a quarter, ie 8 goals overall would be a surprising result. Sad to have to say it, but there we are.
  12. I will be very disappointed if the club just rolls over and takes this [censored] from the bully boys at AFL. Don't forget that a so called senior AFL official either fabricated a "story" to the detriment of MFC, ot breached a confidence taken in his official capacity. And whichever, he was backed up (despite he claimed verbal counselling) by the greatest hypocrite in AFL history who bleats on and in about "integrity"!! If we lie down and take this, I reckon many long term supporters, myself included, will very quickly lose interest in yet another rebuild of a club that will now be widely, and this time correctly, regarded as totally spineless. Sure, take the risk that Vlad will screw us and send us interstate 10 times next year, and play the rest at Docklands, but at least we will have shown some balls for a change.
  13. Exactly my point. IF MFC takes this lying down, the brand is trashed. A serendipitous opportunity to make a very big statement. Sure a distraction, but definitely a defining moment.
  14. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/opinion/a-decent-man-is-trashed-by-line-of-nongs-and-buffoons/story-e6frg7uo-1226317969028 Sorry, can do the link thing on my iPad. Patrick Smith is surelybwalking on pretty shaky ground here, basically calling Davey a liar. I sincerely hope the club is taking high level legal advice here. The coach has been slandered by Thomas, and by a senior AFL official. Davey has been slandered here by Smith. If we just lie down and take it it will be the MFC who is the big loser; never to be taken seriously again. All the pain and hard work of the last 6-7 months will have been for nought.
  15. The stench is not blighting the club: it is the duplicity and weasel words coming out of Vlad's mouth that stink, and are blighting the AFL brand. All his repeated talk about "integrity" is clearly just hot air. He wouldn't know integrity if it hit him in the face.
  16. ....well, we could always start with doing a Joan of Arc on Misfit, seeing that Dumbitriou lacks the balls to sack him.
  17. AFL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT OFFICER: what sort of BS position is that? Presumably supposed to engender harmony - wow, he has done a great job so far! Vlad is as big a tool and fool as Misfed Misled Mifsud for not having the guts to sack him.........and has the gall to carry on and on about integrity!!
  18. I agree, but as I mentioned above only if there is proof or a confession. Not on the basis of a big knobber.
  19. Mifsud and Thomas have come out looking like total tools. How can one beleive what they say without evidence or a "confession"? Let's give our "senior indigenous player" at least the benefit of any doubt before condemning him on the basis of rumor and innuendo, even if part of it came from that bastion of integrity, the AFL.
  20. Allegedly....allegedly......allegedly! You are jumping to conclusions that Mifsud and Thomas didn't just dream this up to damage MFC. Who is this Mifsud anyway? Ex player? How did he get into AD's bed??
  21. ...so as to maintain (the failed pretence of) integrity at AFL HQ??
  22. Stef offers incredible versatility few others have. He certainly could be useful down back against the tall WCE forwards, but that said if the match ups change then he can move to the midfield or forward, as well as doing a lot of the ruck work. Most gorilla minding defenders are pretty unidimensional - Stef is nt. And as far as Clark is concerned, his "failure" as a FF at the weekend was in big part due to the incredibly poor delivery: sure he is expected to take a grab, but nobody can if the ball is bombed over their head and never to the lead. Dunstall, Lloyd, Lockett would struggle if offered the delivery our mids offer. that said, IMO he could be better utilised at "CHF", whatever that is nowadays.
  23. Sure he did, but then he wasn't the only one and he does recover pretty well and makes a chase. The "forward structure" is in evolution - they need to get to know each other and plan who is to fly, who is to decoy and draw opponents from the contest, and who will crumb. This will take time. Overall our players have become accustomed to lazily standing aside and not working hard even when it is certain the ball will not be coming their way. They will NOT create space and alternative even unused options, and we will not progress until they do.
