  1. Bail has missed three weeks with concussion -- surely then one would expect him to have a modified return, through Casey, even possibly their reserves (or whatever they call them now) with lots of time on the pine.
  2. No good -- I think one needs a small target
  3. Maybe he sees a future for these two...yes, even Davey. Would he want to get involved with the other two??? Who knows. Time will, or may, tell.
  4. Great stuff from Jones in particular. It would be great to see how / if it all happens against a hard nosed "adult" team NB Hawthorn who have bullied us for years. Big progression from the early rounds.
  5. Surely you couldn't dream of even thinking that Mr Integritou would conspire in any way to compromise free trade? Outrageous suggestion. Would just never happen :-)
  6. Very pleasing to hear that Williams was able to get out on the track, and kicked a goal. Wasn't he BND about 6 weeks ago - a remarkable recovery, even if not a big influence on the outcome.
  7. "We the collective jilted wife coming face to face with her husband for the first time since he ran off into an emotionless [censored]-in-a-cash-register style relationship with a young, well built tart." Brilliant stuff.
  8. "Jared says no one is safe at Melbourne"...............and, not before time one could add.
  9. Moloney.......but surely preferably someone else who has actually contributed this year?
  10. Does anyone know his contract status? Maybe this could explain why he has been struggling.Still, one man's misfortune is another's opportunity.
  11. Agree 100%.I am old enough to remember the late 1950 glory years - I loved being envied and hated too.
  12. High draft picks haven't worked - debate the reasons elsewhere: poor picks, poor development, poor culture, poor leadership on and off field? What we need is to regain a winning culture -- and the best way to do that is to start winning, aiming to win every game by as big a margin as possible. Play 100 per cent for 100 minutes, or as Barassi says 6000 seconds. No respite for our players nor their opponents.
  13. Is there any definition as to what is "to advantage"? If "to advantage" means "resulting in a clearance" then it is a combination of the ruckman's strength and ability, and the "rover's" ability, determination, nous, and skills, and another skill we sadly lack, the players around the "rover" being proactive and protecting him, clearing a path through traffic and taking out the predators.
  14. Thanks for that, Demonland So things aren't quite so bad this year, eh! Do you have any records of how ferrel the Internet boards were that season?? :-)
  15. Friends -- have no doubt whatsoever that Mr Dimitrou will as always "do the right thing"in a fair and equitable manner. Don't worry your little minds about these matters -- Andrew will look after us.
  16. Geishen.....consistency in the one sentence !! LOL !!
  17. Are you suggesting that perhaps Jamar will reveal a "nagging injury, manifest as general soreness" for the next round?
  18. Is it three byes in 4 (or 5) weeks. Does bugger all for the development of any younger players, nor for those returning from injury. Epic FAIL, VFL. Good to see young Williams getting a run after his near-death experience. Well done.
  19. Oh FCS gen-not-my-fault-blame-someone-else-Y -- of course he has to take most of the responsibility for his not progressing; sure maybe not all but it is HE who goes out onto the field, not BP, Bailey, Neeld or Missen. It is HE who decides whether to jump into the contest or hang around outside the pack and hope.... It is HE who despite the much vaunted "silky skills" shanks and turns the ball over.
  20. What pisses me off most, and has done however Geishen decides they should interpret it on a particular week, or even within a particular quarter, is that the first requirement surely for a HTB "reward" should be a correct legitimate tackle. All too often we see the poor bugger who actually risks life and limb going in and getting the ball then ridden into the ground (in the back) being penalised for HTB. If he is lying face down on the ground and one or several players jump onto his back, how can that be "correct tackle, no attempt = HTB"???? Exasperating. Surely the benefit of the doubt should always be in favour of the play maker and not the vulture hovering outside.
  21. If bringing Martin in as a FP alternate with Jamar manages to keep Clarke where he does his greatest damage, as a leading FF then I say bring Martin in. But Jamar's lack of marking, and lack of "presence" around the ground IS becoming a real concern. By the way, is there any recent news re Fitzy and his diabetes? Poor bugger can't take a trick. Opportunity beckons and then this, and another injury, hits him.
  22. I also doubt it, but are Casey 1s playing this week? IF he has a real burner, then a leapfrog wouldn't be out of the question.
  23. or Mt Martha Primary School -- oh hang on, they can't even play bruise-free footy there any more.
