  1. I believe that there is a vacancy at MFC for a recruiter and I look forward to hearing publicly about the outcome of your application.
  2. Thanks for that.It seems just incredible in the true sense of the word that Williams is even playing at all, let alone impressing at VFL level.
  3. and I thought that Brad himself pulled the plug, but you may know some other facts?
  4. Yeah...OK. The best explanation for his selection last week and not this. Thanks Barry.
  5. I will then.....My pet hate is that an incorrect tackle - especially in the back, driven into the ground, or "stacks on the mill" - on someone who has had the initiative and courage to get the ball is often "rewarded" with a HTB decision when clearly the mug with the ball should be rewarded, and the vulture who applies the incorrect tackle penalised. And again the vultures "hailing the cab", not even trying to get the ball or even looking at it, but just grabbing the ballgetter's jumper and staring at the maggot.............grrrrrrr!
  6. I did too, but surely he needs a few on the trot to see just where he stands.....before hopefully an enormous committed preseason!!
  7. So, is a good coach one who has a good and experienced list or one who plans ahead to achieve success even though he starts with an underdeveloped and inexperienced list?Would Malthouse do better with our list at this time? Would Neeld do well with Collingwood or Hawthorn's current list? Both are obviously unanswerable questions but worth considering nonetheless. Successful coaches (not necessarily the best coaches though) don't need excuses.
  8. I will just have to keep my opinions to myself, at least for now.
  9. you forgot Kruzer http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landkreuzer_P._1500_Monster
  10. Of curse they would be very upset and disappointed, and nobody should even suggest otherwise (other than say someone with the credibility of Brock McLean), but it is possible that we may lack the live cattle to do the job.
  11. BHis dad learned to kick after a few very ordinary years (in that skill respect only).
  12. So true. Oh yeah, sack a new coach after 18 games, or one season, and just get Malthouse or Roos or some other premiership coach who has suddenly developed a death wish and are lining up at the door to be the next sacrificial bunny!!!
  13. I guess my question was along the lines of: Is Williams at all likely to be a big surprise packet ala Pods?I wasn't even remotely looking at Reiwoldt or Gehrig comparisons. But I wouldn't mind Gehrig, at his best, but of course would rather Reiwoldt, or Carey, or JBrown etc etc etc
  14. Now I haven't had an opportunity to see Casey other than on TV, but could the unlikely and underrated, now resurrected Williams steal a march on Cook? The clips one sees suggest that he is a big boy, and a good mark and kick. Any comments from regular Casey watchers?
  15. Well done, Brad. You are a gentleman and a courageous and skilled leader of our club. I hope that you may feel able to stick around the club and help mentor the next generation.
  16. and I honestly wish I could share your optimism.
  17. and not all break a leg in their first preseason, then dislocate a shoulder in their comeback game, thank goodness.
  18. you beat me to the punch
  19. True I used to wonder if pretty ordinary kicking could be improved in an otherwise good to very good player : Todd Viney and Nathan Jones have both given me hope.
  20. Gys and Blease will be the ones most worth watching over the preseason. Lets hope that they can gain the necessary fitness to allow them to unveil their full talents for full games over a full season.
  21. ...and how well was he walking? Unaided?? Surely not.
  22. Recovery from this trivial sounding but potentially very serious injury is no certainty and I think we must just give him as much time as it takes. I would take the lack of comment by the club, or by Mitch himself, as just reflecting this uncertainty rather than a cover up.
  23. Could we secretly sneak into the AFL registry and swap our Bennell for GC's?
  24. Neeld does seem to like most players to have more than one string to their bow, which can only be good though very frustrating for fans starved of success for so many years.Howe's induction into the midfield can only enhance his natural talents as a marking forward. If he keeps it up he will be a big AFL drawcard, as Liam was starting to become before his various injuries and other issues. Let us all (trolls excepted) hope that the hard work of this year, reassessment and the learning of their various new roles, pays off big time in the next few seasons. Then we will all (trolls excepted) be happy to hail Neeld as the next Norm Smith!!
  25. Neita started off as a top rate CHB then became one of our greatest KPP forwards. I have thought similar things about Tom, though a top attacking CHB is incredibly valuable too.
