But we all know that the MRP is an absolute joke. This disparity just proves it yet again.

Were they three or maybe four unconnected or unrelated sentences?

Shocking news -- brings back the Troy Broadbridge tragedy, and Bali bombing.
-
Pretty deep stuff, that. It is great that he now recognises that he has a huge problem, and great that he is now going to do something about it himself. I hope that the club will offer him all the support in every way it can. Sounds as if it could at very least offer him a focus and a "home".

POLL: Who Needs To Go? ... The Fans Decide

I know they are killing the opposition, but they are playing in a very good team, which they wouldn't be at Melbourne.

POLL: Watts v Naitanui ... Did we get it right or wrong?
monoccular replied to Range Rover's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was watching the game today and wondered how long before this was raised again. So NikNat is playing in finals ina very good team, and Jack is doing neither. And NikNat is playing in WA where he may well be even were he picked by us. -
The Hawks will be very relieved to see Geelong bomb out as they have had the wood on them for quite some time.
-
....and did it quietly without bottoming out and getting rewarded for mediocrity with draft picks. Sure some cap concessions but that is not what drives them -- it is pride. Note that young Demons. Pride in themselves and their team.

Maybe G Lyon should have spoken to R Lyon after all!
monoccular replied to Sir Why You Little's topic in Melbourne Demons
And I don't think it happened, either. And does why you little think that because RLyon got Freo up,tonight that he would automatically have had us up,too? Illogical thinking, or maybe wishful! -
Interesting analysis, Ben, and surely at least some cause for a bit if optimism. The Hawks, and the Cats, have that solid core of uncompromising players on which to build - we lack that at present but I have faith that Neeld, Missen and Craig are the best options to advance our cause in this essential area.

Sorry...is this a Caddy or a Monfries thread?

Nathan has been a more than capable LEADER without the need for a formal title. He just leads by example, and hopefully those who have the strength of character and body to make it through to 2013 will just feel they must follow him.

Key Position Forward - who do you think we can/should get
monoccular replied to melbfc2013's topic in Melbourne Demons
That highlight reel vs Hawks shows an athletic tall with guts who can mark, chase and kick. Is this his consistent form? -
Well, he may or may not be a Magpie for life, but his price will sure as hell have gone up considerably. ADDENDUM: The Visy plant has just gone into overtime making extra brown paper bags in anticipation of a hectic free agent / trade period.
-
He will sook a lot more IF the MRP shows any semblance of consistency and rubs him out for 2 or 3! Off ball, high, at least medium contact. Squirm out of that, whinger.
-
Geez, Collingwood get away with everything. Several throws again this quarter, and a blatant deliberate OOB.
-
High intensity footy - I would love to see that. How absurd was that deliberate OOB - the guy ? Gibson was thrown as he kicked, it landed 20 metres inside 50 metres downfield and bounced sidewards. Absolutely clueless. Geishen of course will say "perfect decision"!

Maybe Tex, who wants Neeld sacked immediately, could suggest who we should apparent as his successor? Of course it would be best if we appointed, some gun multi premiership coach, but for a six month probationary period and then sack him mid 2013 when we are anything but top 4.Should be really easy to find someone, who is really really good, on those terms, especially with such a quality list to work with.
-
Hey Tex.....how much had Peterd done even under the great DB since his "emerging game" v Collingwood. He had already gone a hell of a way backwards under Bailey. Back to topic: none of us are privy to the conversations between Neeld and Gysberts, or others for that matter. MN has laid down strict KPIs and maybe he and Gys have agreed that he is unable or perhaps unwilling to meet them. If that is the case should he then just say, like presumably DB and ND before him, well don't worry, hang around anyway?? Do we have ny confirmation either from the club or Gys that they are parting ways anyway? Or is this more media and Internet speculation?

Clark, Pearce, Monfries fuschias' foreign legion
monoccular replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
Well if Mark Stephens says it then it must be gospel truth :-) -
#5 Froggie 1964 GF would surely have to be the greatest all time Demon goal, but of course dependent upon Hassa Mann's dying moments goal at Glenferrie Oval, without which we would have missed the finals altogether! Cam Bruce in the dying stages of the 2000 QF was also pretty inspirational and left the Cheaters aghast Ox just before half time in ?1994 ?QF, again vs the Cheaters was game turning

And another one bites the dust - Cook
monoccular replied to Demon Disciple's topic in Melbourne Demons
I guess if Neeld / Missen / Craig feel that Gys can make the grade and meet their physical and commitment KPIs then they will offer him another contract: if not they will let him go. He certainly showed in his early couple of games, before he was first knocked down with injury, that he knows how to play. It would be sad if he fell by the wayside.PS: is this a Cook thread? -
Jack Grimes ''Time For Team To Rise Up''
monoccular replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
are you referring to "getting touches" on the end of season trip, 'cos he sure ain't going to get any in the footy field?
