WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - CHRIS DAWES

I realised what you meant - my weak attempt at humour. There should be a "tongue in cheek icon I can insert to avoid confusion when I am being ironic. -

Unfortunately P_Man some people, soothsayers particularly, seem to just like the sound of their own voice (if that can be extrapolated to internet boards) - you have probably seen those guys (usually) who stand on street corners announcing the imminent end of the world as we know it. We just have to put up with them - I guess it becomes THE meaning of life for some of them. I think that replying probably only encourages them, though it is hard to resist sometimes as I have shown myself from time to time.GO DEMONS - RISE IN 2013!!! But I digress: Back to the thread - are there any CONFIRMED updates on the Dawes situation. -

Amongst the plethora of good news I have heard this week, that is probably the best of all. The injury apparently unpredictable, so I am told, so to hear that Mitch is skipping is just great. It is essential that his rehab is handled very carefully, and it sounds as if it is just that. -
Too true.It will be interesting to see if Voss lets him play it all on his own terms, or has the strength that Neeld has shown and demand he follow the team rules.

It is good to see such a positive post. You can't change the past, just the future.

....assistant coach........not nearly yet I hope. Have you heard something very bad about his foot ? :-((( -
Hi moderators This is a great board and an exciting time of year, but excitement, anticipation and unfortunately some trolling can confuse issues. Can you mods maybe put up a thread with up to date FACTS on the current status quo....one without reader input. It is very confusing today for example on the Dawes thread - congratulation on a deal well done vs don't want him mixed in with all sorts if speculation Thanks

.....and he isn't going to lose us pick 20 when we still desperately need quick skilled mids -
ripper - post #18. - some guys are just never ever happy. He / she will be the one who when the Jacks hold the Cup aloft complain about the shocking miss in the second quarter that cost us the 100 point victory.
-
Quite surprisingly I think only one of 24 could be really construed as negative. Maybe the soothsayers are asleep and will attack again tomorrow!
-
If you are suggesting that he (JW) play a bit on ball, a "ruck-rover" type should they still exist, I like it. Quick, reads well, great disposal. Otherwise I see his as an attacking HBF on whom the opposition will need to use an accountable forward, and / or a winger. Looking forward to him delivering it to maybe HOWE PEDERSEN/DAWES/GUMBY/HOGAN2014 SYLVIA/BLEASE/TAPSCOTT BYRNES CLARK DAVEY/JETTA PS:Being super optimistic - after all it is pre preseason - maybe we should throw Williams into the mix as well, which makes me even less keen to get all of Pedersen, Dawes and Gumby, of course dependent on the price. Certainly one, maybe tow, but certainly not all three unless they are given away.
-
You forgot the gun #4 pick of 2007 :-(((

Stef Martin needed as key back for opposition gorillas
monoccular replied to Tex's topic in Melbourne Demons
I have been very keen since Jamar's return from injury for Stef to return primarily to defence. He reads the play well and has the pace to run with the likes of Franklin, though few Dan beat him one on one all day. I would keep him, and maybe off trade Spencil instead. He offers more options for us. PS: may also free up Tom McDonald to move forward, depending on the Dawes and Pedersen status. -
Precisely - we would get like for like. Would seriously far prefer a mid range pick. But I have become fatigued by waiting for the "huge potential upside". If a spray from a coach for a stupid costly act can as has been said dent his confidence for the remainder of a season, it would appear that he doesn't have the psychological fortitude necessary for AFL.
-
I think he may have got marooned up at Hotham without any antifreeze. Poor bugger got a cracked head.
-
Schadenfreude could still prove a useful AFL player....if he can get a clearance from the Bundesliga.
-
Maybe Neeld has read his whole attitude to professional footy better than most here. His hopping off to Vegas whilst he mistakenly thinks he is also trying to promote himself as a professional just emphasizes all of that - after all, somebody reported Dunn and ?Jetta or Bennell running laps of The Tan before negotiations began. Like them or not, at least they are not strutting around as if the world owes them a living. Good luck to them.

So are you suggesting an even more complex tanking operation undertaken by the Demons for 2012- [censored] of a former number 1 pick on a China trip, and deny his dad free hot dogs and pies, so he will leave us; - break the foot of our most promising FF in years, mid season That sounds far more complex than allowing Jordan McMahon to take a mark outside 50 on the siren, and through our sheer willpower guiding the long kick through. Even Carltank could not have dreamed that up. Time to start another deep AFL probe: maybe they can spring an interview with another cheesed off ex-player, Beemer in a year or two to "confirm" this elaborate plot.
-
if they do they will be even more confused than the collective of this board:-)
-
i haven't followed him a lot, but how does he ranks for pace, especially if he is maybe being compared or considered in the context of him or Farran Ray?
-
Good on Voss for picking up a player who has basically told his previous coach that he doesn't like being driven hard at training. It will be interesting to see just how he fits in.
-
WTH ?????????
-
Viney, Snr, I presume :-)
-
We all need a good laugh every day. Who is offering something that may rival this though? T'would be hard to beat.
-
Pardon my lack of knowledge but do Macrae and or Kennedy fit into this group and are either likely to be available at the right place? Both have sounded good in reviews.
