  1. (re Petterd): I guess all will depend on whether he has "bought in" (horrible expression) to the Neeld mantra, AND, possibly more so as he didn't show a lot physically last season (?injury or just not fit), if Missen and Craig think he is physically up to the job. If either of those questions gets a "no" then I would be very happy if we can get anything for him, anything at all.
  2. .....errrrr.....because one of the clubs is Essendon?
  3. So he hates himself then! Who???
  4. Worrying, yes.Surprising, given AFL's history in regards the poor vs the rich, no.
  5. From that fantastic YouTube it seems that in fact more of his goals were crumbing snaps or from diving marks than pack splitting grabs. Still, does anyone really take whining Terry Wallett seriously? But back to this the Gumby thread. I hear on the wireless that he has signed with the Bummers for one season only. I think that says that those who know him best are concerned about his recurring injuries. Glad we didn't get him.
  6. So that explains it all.....never had a preseason.**re Morton
  7. Are the two parts of your sentence, the bit before and the bit after the comma, connected in any way, or just two thought bubbles???
  8. But....it says so in the H-S so it just has to be true. They have never got anything wrong.
  9. Does the name Morton sound at all like Sheahan?
  10. Well he would have picked up so many development hints from ND & DB, that the Hawks are clearly destined for glory!.
  11. that video clip would make even an Italian soccer star flinch....what a soccer dive was that??
  12. #8 Tassie Bob Johnson. Fullback. Kickins - drop kicks - routinely reached near the centre circle. Never beaten. Dasher.
  13. Do you mean like in Auskick? Next the maggots will be designating whose turn it is to jump? Is that where we are heading?
  14. i thought that's why the Brownpaperbaggers got Judd and the Toiges Cousins.
  15. if by that he means he is someone who will play twice as well at his second club, then bring it on!
  16. Do you think that a second preseason under Missen / Craig may bring him up to pace? Somebody with better understanding of exercise physiology than I mentioned, I cant remember regarding whom, (maybe Gysberts) , that there is a parameter that can be measured to predict the ability of humans to reach certain fitness goals. Hopefully that test will have been run past all the players who struggled last preseason, if not the whole list.
  17. As I mentioned in another post, just maybe Jamar could feature in a late trade, somewhere?? I certainly see Martin as providing more options and contributions around the ground than TGR. And IF we snag Pedersen, and Gawnius Maximus pulls up well then one will have to go. I feel sorry for Spencil as he surely will be redundant (if Pedersen gets to us.)
  18. I clicked the "like it" button but we need a "love it absolutely" button too - as well as a "dislike" one.
  19. Howe in the world could you leave out Jumping Jeremy, either from the midfield or the forward line?
  20. I reckon it would have been a good few seconds...in fact a collective sigh throughout the recruitment team I would imagine.
  21. Despite his many doubters, Sellar added versatility and strength to the line up. Not a star by any means, but part of the solid workforce that a club needs.
  22. So am I right in saying that our first "live" pick is 58 or thereabouts, in what has been described as a top draft especially for mids, which we need?
  23. So did you really expect that there would be much progress in the first year of a coach endeavouring to create a whole new culture at the club? He has shown that he will not tolerate anything but best efforts, and hard work which has upset some prima donnas.
  24. When two ruckmen make contact with each other, who gets penalised?? Both of them?? Another "really well thought out" rules committee decision. Nice theory, but unworkable. They need to draw an imaginary line at right angles to the boundary, or across the ground rather like the centre circle line, and make the ruck men start from either side of this line.
