  1. Geez - what a disaster. That doyen of recruiting and building up a list, ex-Tigers coach whining Wallace says we didn't do well!!! That actually pleases me as it probably means the opposite. And as for Barrett - pfttt. The proof of the pudding will be I the eating, and I hope the eating is those two tosses choking on their humble pie. I do not give a toss about "Getting Smashed on TradeRadio", not one iota. The club has put their faith in Neeld, Missen, Craig et al and I am certainly prepared to back him. To those who whine about getting such low picks for a couple of ex round 1 draftees - why do you think we got such crappy offers? Because they were elite performers? We got more that we would have had we simply delisted them, like we will for quite a few of our OOC fringe dwellers.
  2. I doubt if he will get a game, even as a sub under Neeld if he doesn't get a defensive side to his game. Bring on 2012. GO DEMONS
  3. those responsible are MORTON & GYSBERTSI know that if they had been retained and had years like they did in 2011-12 the same folk who are here now bagging the FD would be .....bagging the FD for NOT getting rid of these two. They have moved on..... So should we all. It doesn't matter a stuff that they were first rounders ..... They are not now.
  4. My first thought is also WTH?? but the FD have had an opportunity to have a good look at him and have decided, for better or for worse, that something is not right about him: maybe his attitude to training, his potential highest fitness level, or something else. IF they had hung onto him, like a previous FD did say for Cale, then in a year or two the howls would be even greater.Decision made.....move on.
  5. And do you, for a FACT, know that we didn't chase Stevens?
  6. No more dealing with the Bummers - Heffernan, Morecroft !!!! Never forget. I guess we would maybe take Watson though
  7. surely the whole drawn out saga has effected other trades - has to with some holding off as most trades are linked in one way or another, as the stack of cards falls or is built up.
  8. FCS - this month long FA & trade "week" is a pain I the butt. Surely it should all be put into one week, then bring on the draft, and we can all start fantasizing about the preseason: this system is more painful than drawing teeth. Another Dumbitriou / Anderson triumph :-(((
  9. Well, if this is all true then they have well and truly compromised this year's FA and trade period; surely they would have to be excluded completely from the draft, and probably next year's trade and FA period too.
  10. Maybe if he does move to Subi he will mysteriously and suddenly put on an enormous amount of muscle: it seems to just happen over there. Something in the water? Something else? Maybe the AFL should look at that instead of wasting their time following up the half baked allegations of a not-so-bright, disgruntled ex MFC player who after all now plays for the grand experts in tanking? Frankly, I have totally lost faith in his ability and / or willingness to get involved in the harsh rugged brutal argy bargy that is AFL top level footy, even if he does sometime actually put in a full Missen preseason.
  11. IF we move Martin on end don't get Pedersen, we wont have any shortage of talls. So only IF he comes very cheaply should we continue with this charade - tell Norf to go and stick their deal. If they dont want him they could always just delist him and get nothing for him. Mids are the big need.
  12. is that what folk mean when they mention he is an elite outside runner. :-(((((...In fairness may look worse than it is. They may have been running to where the ball was headed.
  13. A great highlight clip.....but it begs the question: why couldn't he get a regular game at North through 2012? If it is "just" a personality clash with Scott with no underlying "issue" then Scott is a very immature and inadequate personality for a coach. The concern to me is that our recruiters must do forensic heavy duty due diligence and see if there is some other underlying defect on Pedersen's part. It is hard to believe given the wraps some seem to have on his footy skills, strengths and abilities that it is just a matter of "team balance" at Norf that leaves him at VFL for most of the season.
  14. Darren Jarman? Drafted but ever even came over to train? And your defender is probably Nathan Bassett.
  15. I sure as hell hope that you are right...but few of us have had the opportunity to see if he can. Have you, or is this opinion "can really play" based on what you have read or heard?
  16. You all "underdesire". Assuming it is a 23 round season, anything under 26 would be a disappointment!!
  17. but at least there ain't a Maloney!
  18. see link on post # 99
  19. i seriously doubt that there is room for both, though I guess they may hang on to both as insurance for each other injury wise. For what it is worth, probably nothing, I would trade Spencer this trade period to someone desperate for a ruckman. How about Saints for Ray?
  20. Not sure where he stands in the pecking order. But the words quoted "hard to play against" may be a hint that he is highly regarded.
  21. but what about the lack of activity around the ground - marks, shepherds etc?? Martin >> Jamar here.
  22. I have looked at those stats - I must say from a spectator's point of view I find the 50 percent hit-out to advantage stat very surprising. Do others?
  23. He may get the stats for hit-outs, but very few of them have been effective. We need clearances not just hit-outs. He does bugger all around the ground - takes very few marks, few possessions and can't / won't kick. How many 1 percenters such as shepherds? Really quite a disappointment.
  24. Still tradeable, maybe, if anyone wants him.
