I empathize with you, willmoy. Who else is in your "list of twenty five to watch in action this year" pray tell?
-
Yes...and...yes. It may be interesting to speculate as to who has a good season and who has a bad one, which really is what this thread is all about. Speculation. Roll back 12 months and I suspect a majority here (and remember most of us had never seen him in action, the boy from BGS who didn't even play TAC and who was "always injured") would have had Jayden Hunt on the outer and now nearly everyone has him securely locked in their top 22, maybe even 15. Nev Jetta a few years earlier. A lot changes over a season, so I for one won't speculate at this stage.

Same was said of his dad early in his career, but Todd did work on it and did become pretty reliable in his disposal. As I remember, Todd was a far worse kick at the start than is Jack.

Is that one of the myriad of sessions when they are, iter alia, told about their personal responsibilities regarding what they ingest? The session that apparently the Essendon 34 (or however many it was) either ignored or thought did not apply to them. Must be true if it is on 7️⃣? -

An opinion. That is all. I trust (now) our whole player / team management team to seek out legitimate ways to give our team even 'a slight edge' over others. If this as Saty points out instills self belief into some who may have lacked it in the past, and gets that marginal little extra drive at vital moments, it can only improve the team. Others as we see have different opinions on the value of all this 'commando training'. Maybe, to those who have done it but not have been training at or playing at 'elite level' footy, it helps less than for those who have done everything else to be at their very top physical condition. Time will (or may) tell. -
The ultimate KPI, winning games between the two competing teams, has them way way ahead of us.

Checker Hughes?

If Petracca grabs the game we could be in for a very exciting year. He could really be anything, a scary thought But, it is a team game, and as the old saying goes a champion team beats a team of champions (or champeens as Jack Dyer used to say)!

Nobody seems to have mentioned his set shot routine and accuracy: very impressive especially for a first year player. Hope some of this could rub off on Jesse, too.

Chris - if you are old enough to remember it your probably would be too old to remember it !

And let's not just be satisfied by getting there. Win them all is the only way.

Has been totally derailed by bickering about the club website which should be in a separate thread, but sadly this happens regularly despite moderators' warnings. Meanwhile, our third tall forward may be .............

Another saviour, like Chri$$$$$ Judd?

By all accounts Tim Smith has a good brain - haven't seen him in action, but OMG one can just dream of Jakovich with a focused mind. Could be anything if what you say is right.

HS Bicks weighs your AFL team’s chances with his 2017 preview
monoccular replied to JAG007's topic in Melbourne Demons
A fair assessment - we must learn to - win games that we should - not fold under pressure - answer pressure with pressure - follow but a single piece of Mark Neeld's wish list, being the hardest team to play against. We have only seen it in flashes, v Hawks, and v Cats 2015 - if repeated we can go places. -
Absolutely goes without saying but must be a price that doesn't disadvantage or [censored] off any our home grown talent. I (now) trust our list management team

5 years from bad to top isn't exactly historical. One N Smith took us from last in 53 to premiers 55,56,57,59,60,64. As long as that weekly list includes September 30, 2017 ? -
Probably better to avoid "interesting personalities" altogether if that is the standard. Ah......Tassie Johnson. Drop kicks from full back almost to the centre mud caked circle. Cettainly my favorite #8.

Good teams have good (depth) players on the fringe both to pressure those in the firsts, and as back up for injuries and form lapses. Pedersen fills this rôle perfectly. Not underrated nor overrated. IMVHO he is an important part of our 2017 list, and how he and others perform will determine what happens thereafter.

Oscar Clavarino and Luke Davies-Uniacke

Another Oscar in the backline! Could confuse oppositions and supporters alike. :-) Luke would need a surname change - a bit of a mouthful as is stands. LDU? -

Is your glass half empty, RS? Can be a lot more than half full this time I reckon - unless of course we keep draining it in celebration, not sorrow.
