  1. FCS just beat them into pulp round 1 Long long overdue.
  2. True. Awful Americanized word. Maybe when DumbItriou who loved all things American to the extent that he missed AFL season matches to schmooze at big US events, was in charge, but really, what is meant by "conference"? Section. Division. Group.
  3. So nobody will attend the lowest "conference" ? Games at all? Once again, Gill planning carefully. How would they cope if Essundone, Collingwood, Richmond and Carlton, maybe with Hawthorn ended up in the losers' "conference"?
  4. Firstly -- PLEASE don't use the American word "conference"! Division, section, but not some word that usually means some sort of talkfest. So, in an even season, if you are 13th and rapidly on the rise after perhaps an injury plagued start to the season, maybe only a game or two out of the 8, with the teams ahead of you struggling, your season is in effect stuffed? Fantastic. If you are 6th and on a rapid decline, rest easy - you are guaranteed a finals spot, so maybe rest a few players and prepare for finals. What a pathetic (again) thought bubble by the worst AFL CEO in history. Please Gil, go and enjoy the polo and hand over to someone who can (i) make decisions eg Jab's Downlow and (ii) really has a feel for the ordinary footy fan.
  5. Gil - not only slimy but clueless and incompetent. Really - no idea what to do with it? Hasnt given it any thought? Hasn't had time to think about it? What has he been doing? Utter incompetence!!
  6. Bont in my mind is unique and ahead of the other two. Can and has broken games (as will Oliver, Trac and Gus for that matter).
  7. I am sure their pharmacist / coach could dispense something to sort that out.
  8. Maybe this re emphasizes the need to insert (player name) instead of (he) when replying to a post that doesn't contain a name?
  9. OMG Trac is a competitive beast.
  10. Shane Woewoden came from nowhere to what was then known as a Brownlow (now sadly a Downlow thanks Gil and Jobe) by similar dedication and focus. I will watch him with interest.
  11. Could that be something to do with the Telstra "outage" or outrage?
  12. With or without stutter?
  13. I agree with you Wiseblood. Cross was (and in a different capacity still os) great for us but he was moved on sideways at the right time. A very different case than was James McDonald, who especially in retrospect was moved on far too early and treated appallingly by those in power at the time. I ticked the 'like' box but would really like to have a bigger option.
  14. We need to learn how to beat St Kilda, North, EssUndone before we can be nearly satisfied and thinking about finals.
  15. It is great that there is competition for spots, and if he earns it good luck to him.
  16. Congratulations. I am neither obstetrician nor midwife, but I guess conception needs to occur about now.
  17. Hey guys Has anyone over the last few pages thought of reading the thread title? It seems to have been hijacked and become a thread on the MFC website. How about a seperate thread? Any thoughts on who is / should / could be the third tall forward, if indeed such a position actually exists, and when?
  18. Wells - you are a pessimist.......but I guess following MFC does that to one. Hopefully times are a changing.
  19. Would I be correct in saying that Trac has ... greater mental capacity than did Beamer? Maybe as others have alluded to, and depending on opposition line ups*, they could both spend time up forward, at least while Weideman is developing. *though wouldn't it be nice if opposition teams had to worry about matching up against us rather that vice versa. Time to set some trends ourselves, and not always respond. I trust that Goodwin may add some creative flair in that regard.
  20. Whilst I choose to have very little interest in this competition, what genius at Gil's AFLHQ dreamed up that absurd name for the competiton? AWFL? AWFUL?
  21. I didn't read it that way.........in fact I perceived irony and read the complete opposite. Yes......EssenDrug fans will see their guys as heroes, and no doubt Gil and his henchmen will go along with that (unless of course a poll suggests they should think otherwise).....but I hope most will be, to use an awful Americanism, rooting for Roughy.
  22. Or 426 like our ex Nick Smith.
  23. Wouldn't that be Harry O'Seagull?
