  1. And it was good to see the much maligned Jake Spencer's pinpoint pass setting up the first I can't remember - was Max there too? Did we go tall to stretch the Dogs?
  2. I am surprised that nobody has bumped this thread. I was very pleasantly impressed by Jake's game on Saturday - sure the giant freak from Freo won many of the hitouts, though I must say Jake won more than I expected he would (and I think more than he was credited with.) And kicked a couple of handy goals, the last one with an inspirational high mark. Pith the team wasn't as inspired by that as I was. Did NOT as some pessimists here expected plod around falling over his feet, missing kicks and handballs. 13 disposals at 76%, 2 goals, 5 score involvements, 3 tackles, 15 hitouts Looking forward to how he performs against normal human sized ruckmen in coming weeks.
  3. Fred's not too healthy these days NO CHANGE REQUIRED Has anyone heard anything of how his surgery went? Who did it? Julian Feller?
  4. If we get Lewis and Hibberd back, presumably for Melksham will Bernie still fit in on a HBF? A tagging mid who can break forward and punish the opposition with a few long goals seems to have been his best position.
  5. But no doubt the AFL will reward them with the Easter Monday special again, just as they have the DrugCheats and the underperforming Magpies with Anzac Day. This year's will be an absolute doozie, though no doubt there will be the usual tripe about their boys being like war heroes!
  6. Ahhh....what is it that Tyson Vickery brings to a side? :-))
  7. Slightly off topic, but seriously what use are those "security officers" at the entrance gates? At the Carlton game it meant a 10-15 minute wait in a queue, and then and on Saturday a cursory wave with a wand, not caring that I had pockets full of keys, money, radio, and who knows what - they certainly wouldn't have the slightest clue had i taken in a small nuke!! A total tokenistic waste of time unless they are going to do it properly, like at an airport, which would lead to interminable lineups.
  8. Which means Pedo needs to come in to help Jake with the ruck work. ...for the very disappointing Milkshake
  9. No way, KC. I love you insights, and the audio of the YouTube didn't work for me so I didn't know who was who much of the time. Looking forward to your player by player summation. Obviously Hogan back will strengthen what has been one of our huge weaknesses the past fortnight, a tall forward. But adding Pedersen would mean that Watts can spend most of his time up forward, or plugging gaps further upfield while Pedo shares the ruck work. Either that or miss out on Jack's creativity across half and deep forward. Weed sounds as if he is injured anyway....the bigger question is whether Hannon goes out for Pedo, or even Bull Smith (how did he go today)? Did Oscar do anything to make us happy?
  10. Interesting the Essendon Chief Pharmacist aka Coach is saying the recovering druggies have hit the wall (isn't karma delicious) - is this also Melksham 's problem? Frankly doesnt look up to it right now. Hope they are all still in rehab when we meet them shortly.
  11. Like our uncharacteristic comebacks against Saints, Carlton and even the last Q v Freo to a degree though not quite with the success of the previous two. Last year we would have rolled over and died in all three, and been totally demolished by Geelong. We have improved but still have a fair way to go.
  12. I think we sometimes forget that Weed is a second year player being asked to play in the hardest position on the ground with half a dozen games under his belt, and without big man support at least since the Hogan brain fade. Add to that a leg injury early on in Saturday's game and he was all at sea. Needs some 'down time' at Casey despite the often gruesome conditions . I still hold high hopes for him. As for Melksham, has he done anything (positive) worthy of mention this season?
  13. Of course we are better than recent years We would have capitulated totally after trailing Saints round 1, Carlscum round 2, and been absolutely spifflicated by Geelong and Freo Sure we have lost two that we could have won with more composure, but........
  14. Congratulations Big Fella - a very sound return to AFL. Liked his inspiring mark and goal in the 4th (after JW4's equally inspiring one) -- pity the rest of the tea were not as inspired as the fans were by them. Re the fantastic tackle highlighted above - knowing the vagaries and inconsistencies of the MRP he would probably get 2-3 with an early guilty plea for a dangerous sling tackle.
  15. We also laid quite a few smothers - not sure why but it is looking more common overall. Better defensive pressure /coaching?
  16. You are referring to the Weed - he is struggling and is at best marginal at the moment, then got a bad corker so couldn't run at all. Hasn't shown me anything to get excited about. Hope his mate Hibberd is better. Weed needs at least a month at Casey: recall only if he sets the house on fire. Replace with Pedo to add the second big bodied forward (with Hogan presumably to return next week, unless his emphysema catches up with him of course) who can also provide ruck relief with JW4. Does anyone know if Hogan has been at these two games? Hope he is feeling really embarrassed and comes back with a vengeance attacking the ball. As I recall his break out game was at the G at night v Richmond. The whole capitulation needs to stick in the collective craw -- recall hope it does.
  17. Can someone tell me, do they still do "listen live" ie radio links? Searched and searched today on the live app and couldn't locate it PS iPhone app
  18. Agree with first two Weed looked injured as well as lost - time to reset Melksham ? another Essendon Trojan Horse? Turns over far too much. Hopefully Hibberd may be different Hannan - depends on whom is pressing from Casey. Let's see how Tim Smith goes, and Brayshaw and even Trengove
  19. And release Melksham to Casey too.
  20. One can only hope he IS injured If he is then he needs to be rested to recover. Don't take any macho "I can play through anything" rubbish. The natch committee needs to make a stand
  21. His form is certainly a great concern Is he carrying an injury?
  22. After that 3rd q never deserved to win but did anyone see that Freo player get his foot to that last goal? They review all sorts of BS but not that????
  23. What is the point of having score reviews if They don't use them!
  24. No answers from the box Thanks Jesse - your petulance has cost us two games
