Sad for Gus. Great talent, courage but vulnerable. Needs a very long time out if this latest concussion confirmed. Bugg out, teacher's pet zero tackler still in
-
That is harsh. THE TEAM got ahead of themselves at half time. How many wins since their 10-0 start last year? ?
-
Commentators were talking Rowe up Must be over that terrible concussion

I have just turned it on OMG the inventors of tanking seem to be perfecting the art form CFC may have been fooled by the success Bolton had with a list that maybe even Neeld could have had success with To those who have had the courage to watch it all, are CFC that awful or are Port good, or third option, neither?

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 5

And is Kent injured -- saw him named for Casey. Would be very disappointed if he were dropped especially if (Goody's mate) Melksham stayed. " So Jesse was there then? The whole team needs to learn to play 2 hours, in the one game! -
LOL Yet he is not named in the Casey squad for the weekend, meaning he is either going to continue to occupy 1/22 of our list v Tigers, or he is out with a "mystery illness" or less likely under a club suspension.

1. They get guaranteed 2 years on pretty decent $ for an 18-19yo, regardless of playing zero or 44 games. 2. Do you think that when their footy careers are over they should be able to just go out to pasture at around 30 yo? Nothing in footy precludes them from going on to a satisfying and well paid career or succession of careers like the rest of us, footy related or otherwise. Those who have 'average careers' in footy, maybe 5 Y should have been able to put aside a tidy sum (as compared to 'normal' kids of their age who may have just finished study with large HECS debts etc) to set themselves up quite comfortably.

There are really two very simple messages repeatedly indoctrinated into AFL inductees 1/ YOU are responsible for what you ingest or have injected into you 2/ don't gamble* Melks seems to not take in simple messages: how can he take in a dynamic ever changing game plan? * why would any sane AFL player even have a gambling account?

Carefull Biff Some bored / friendless / money hungry / PC person will claim that you have offended them. Expect a call / letter / email / visit from Ms Triggs shortly

Sound quite simple - we need to be the perpetrators of more of these 4-5 goal bursts than our opponents. That will make us a good team.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 5

Surely not the AFL making crazy rue changes. Could not be. Bet against whom - Jake? Has some unfinished business to attend to. I am starting to agree with this thought - he has been very very ordinary the last two weeks at least. -
Except that those in banking are, generally, a lot more shrewd (and possibly devious) about their forward financial planning.
-
.....and those with prime time scheduling too. The rich get richer and the poor struggle on handouts. Like life in general. But, hey, IF there is a strike how about the keyboard warriors from the various supporter websites (like this and 'ology) show their true skill sets, and undoubted courage, and put on matches at the scheduled times.

OMG I have heard this sort of garbage blurted out on these pages so often over the past decade - "opposition star player "x" is out - how good is that" and almost every time it has come back to bite us in the bum. Last year's Essendon game took the cake for this total myth. How about just going out and beating the best opposition. Far more satisfying and induces far less complacency in our mentally fragile playing list.
-
If that is the case my faith in our list managers has just taken a Lloydish style dive.
-
...and, sadly, after last week's third quarter surrender anyone trailing us by a mere 4 goals at half time will have some confidence. That is something that we must stamp out ruhtleslessly this week. His versatility and strength - forward, ruck, defence make him valuable.

TEAM SELECTION AND MATCH PREVIEW - ROUND 5

Strange Dont they usually announce an extended squad that they cull by Saturday? -
Hard to see what the fuss is?! Serial failure to tell the truth to AFL investigations! What next? Does not seem very reliable and certainly has shown the same trait on the field this season. Must be dropped surely this week A very ordinary footballer and sound like a very ordinary person too
-
Stuff Rance. Martin please.

That sounds like the classic Shorten line re Gillard (during one of his inter-Ruddine phases when he gave her his full support) - "I don't know what she said but I fully agree with it"!

Christian Salem - future position role
monoccular replied to Bobby Clark's topic in Melbourne Demons
When Lewis returns, and hopefully Hibberd replaces Melksham, and even when Die Valkerie returns then it will give an opportunity to have Christian in the midfield, wing, forward line for many more minutes. -
It is clear that our players did drink their own bath water at half time Saturday. It reminded me of a game v Hawks a few years ago when we had a great second quarter, and they strutted off the ground at half time as if they had just won a flag, then just lay down and died in the third. Leadership, both on and off the field, should have anticipated this and stopped it from happening. A mature well lead team would

He would get six weeks for that outrageous tackle this year
-
If Viney does just one thing this week I hope it is to grab that arrogant bikie offspring by his outstretched hand and pull out his shoulder. That would be a big contribution.
-
And it was good to see the much maligned Jake Spencer's pinpoint pass setting up the first I can't remember - was Max there too? Did we go tall to stretch the Dogs?
