  1. Big difference was that there never appeared to be any stationary players v Adelaide.
  2. I will trust the club on this one: not all head hits result in the same outcome, and not all "concussions" are the same. (Dangerfield vs Trengove, and Rowe vs Hogan say hi!).
  3. Thanks for posting that link. Very positive outlook. Go Dees!
  4. Certainly was, and a winning and pressuring midfield and half forward line helped their cause too. Very few "easy" entries.
  5. Fortunately things have come a hell,of a long way since Peter Crimmins' day. Very curable but an awful blow to a young man who has just been through his father's cancer death. All our best wishes, Jesse. If and when you are able to return you will be most welcomed by all.
  6. Interesting on the AFL site no mention of Gus I suspect the club, and he, will be untracautious. If he sat out the year, reflected, did some body fitness work he could still come back and reach his full potential.
  7. MRP are just plain corrupt, or if being charitable just plain incompetent... no doubt. Franklin late hit was ok because it was an open hand but Hogan's was 2 weeks for a first "offence". And Cotchin is clear because .....???
  8. I have said it before and will say it again. An expert opinion is needed: too much inexpert speculation on this site. The opinion of former board member, eminent neurosurgeon Dr Peter Dohrmann, a former regular contributor to this site, would be most interesting.
  9. With the MRP it is anyone's guess, though it is a player in Red and Blue so probably time for them to set a precedent (which they will ignore at their whim later for 'special players') I suspect that some posters like to try to claim inside knowledge even if they don't have it.
  10. Tease! Where did you hear this, and what, for physical or "psychological" issues?
  11. Link? VFL tribunal and match review (do they bother having them?) are a bloody joke. What, the guy who sniped him a couple of weeks ago got one week??? Get the Carlscum doctor who assessed Rowe to have a look at Gus: he would say, were the boot in the other foot, "serious permanent brain damage" and get the "assailant" rubbed out for life.
  12. Cam has surprised many - his intensity and his pressure and second (and third+) efforts have lifted the team. Not the most talented on our list, most would agree, but this year in particular has shown himself to be one of the hardest working and courageous of our rapidly developing midfield.
  13. Wow. Both are seriously impressive young footballers.....and they both are Demons. ? Took Telstra six months to determine that my Internet line was faulty! Complacent Fantastic planning and execution, and must not forget to pay tribute to Pedo too who helped make Jacobs' hit outs less than effective.
  14. Looking at the replay, Weid did a lot of good stuff that wouldn't get a stat. Still raw, underdeveloped, but clearly has a footy brain and footy smarts. In a year or two he should be a solid regulat contributor. To those who somewhere equated him with Lucas Cook, what are you on? ??
  15. Very D&M - sort of Hemmingwayesque The debate re the value if helmets continues Was he concussed again today? Or maybe very cautiously managed after a "slight head knock"? Can anyone inform us what is the background to Caleb Daniels' wearing of headgear - Did he have a history of concussions, or "lesser" head knocks?
  16. Hopefully Hogan, and the team, will learn that Jesse is part of the team, part of the forward line and though I think we all agree that we are (at least potentially) better with him, he needs to be more team focused. What ishis tackle count per game this year?
  17. Great to hear that he is sounding ok. Brave kamakazee type. Inspirational. I suspect however that he will be "cautiously managed".
  18. Very interesting stat that. Certainly our best is far better than it has been for many years, and our worst isn't nearly as bad either.....most of the time. Those very costly lapses have cost us probably 3 wins (+/-) and are indicitative of a young inexperienced team.
  19. Totally different injuries and therefore no reason to compare their career projections.
  20. Finals? What are they? I remember now.....what the Demons participated in every year I was at school, bar the last year, and only a very few times since. To play finals, and to win finals, pathetic excuses such as "not being ready to play" or being "not switched on" must be taken as unacceptable. Until and unless that happens, we will remain also rans, just making up the numbers as cannon fodder.
  21. Milkshake suspended in VFL so no comeback there, thanks I can remember ND saying that way back when he was coaching and every coach since. Serioisly, how can well paid full time professional footballers ever turn up "not switched on" or "not ready to play"?? Any who ever turn up "not ready to play" should be demoted for several weeks and replaced by anyone who "is ready to play "! To use a golfing similie, we have a Normanic capacity to choke.
  22. As far as I am aware, Australia has never sent a handball ?‍♀️ team to the Olympics. Could we perhaps send the current Demons' squad for a real gold medal opportunity?
  23. Except that we never quite reached the jaws of victory ? 1/ far too early to make such a call on a second year KPP tall 2/ Curse of first round pick -- like Oliver, Petracca, etc??
  24. .. and some of the senior players stand up as well. Waiting still.
  25. Every time they give us hope, they manage to dash it once again. A most inept performance. One half left to redeem, though goodness knows from where.
