SYDNEY v Melbourne.
-
I think the big problem is that circumstances lead to both Wagner and White being picked in the same team the same week. I had thought (and commented) that making two changes to the defense when they could have got away with one (Hunt staying in defense) lead to imbalance and loss of cohesion. Including Wagner alone may well have worked out better.

Was he employed by the AFL before or after this? Did they not do due diligence? Bugg's action was stupid and off the ball but al least (not excusing him in the slightest) they were both engaged in jockeying for position for a possible ball contest: Fahrour's was just an blatant act of thuggery, by a thug with a history of thuggery. Very different: neither excusable but this was far far worse. Pity Gil is such a weak excuse for a leader who can't make a hard decision (actually should be a very easy one - this guy should NOT represent the AFL in any way, IF they are serious about stamping out thuggery). And WTF is he doing taking leave during the business part of the season anyway, to swan around schmoozing the rich and famous on Le Tour? Can't he take leave in the off season - his is (supposedly) running a multi million dollar business.

Strauss was at best "almost ok" pre injury. The other "elite kick" who couldn't get enough of the ball was Maric. PJ needs to insist on a more equitable "draw" next year, when we are on schedule to give it a real tilt. Bye after Darwin (if we must play there) More Friday nights and Saturday nights

And who the hell is Stevo? Hogan isn't even playing FCS - does he / she / it * know that?

Nobody doubts those words - they are fact. But.....we do not have the fit cattle at the moment, with so many of our top 10-12 out - that is also a fact. And no team (maybe GW$ excepted, thanks AFL) can have depth players who are of the same quality as the first chosen, and no team could foresee, and prepare for, the unbelievable number of serious injuries to so many of these key players. [censored] happens, and cannot be foreseen. Up until this week, our team has adapted and coped admirably, especially over the previous 3 rounds with travel and short changes. But the dam has broken. Hopefully we will be able to find enough players to take the field and win this week and next.

Take Selwood, Dangerfield and Hawkins out of Geelong and see how they go. It is the players who have been injured, not the total numbers that have killed our season. They have done extremely well to cover so far but this latest will probably be terminal for our season. FMD why???
-
Does anyone know his contact status? And, does our or any other club have clauses in there contracts re termination for unacceptable behaviour? Not saying that this is a sackable offence, by any means, but just wondering? Pardon my pedantry, but doesn't loss require initial posession? Has a broken jaw been confirmed? A real one or one of the type that Lewis (allegedly) caused but that allowed the recipient to play unhindered the next week?
-
Why? Because he and BT are the joint kings of cliches

Time for them to step up, full stop. Leadership void after young Viney left the field.

Did Smith do his case any good at VFL yesterday? And the same for the KKK guys.

Isn't Plugger McD the VC
-
Looks like Betts a handy forward for the Blues......oh!

Is surgery the usual treatment for plantar fasciitis? Something else? FCS I hope it isn't something boney Very very low bar to clear.
-
Thankfully not goals.

6. Hibberd 5. Oscar 4. Tracc 3. Tom 2. Frost 1. Jetta -30 Bugg
-
Unfortunately we have seen tonight that they are not, at least not yet.
-
And, unfortunately, not alone. They all looked mentally and physically drained, and though not pivotal, Bugg's brain fade did not help.

A team can carry one or two, maybe three NQRs if their core is intact. Are you really suggesting that any recruiting guru can plan for what we have had happen over the past few months. I will be very interested to hear from anyone who can get to the Casey v Port game this week how in particular Weideman, JKH, and Kennedy go. I certainly hope that Jesse and Jack W are ready to go next week - Jesse in particular needs to reacquaint himself with Rowe, and show him a clean pair go heels.
-
Tyson now limping. FMD. Any Viney limping down the race - not even coming onto the ground Bugg wandering around looking for someone to shake hands with.
-
He may enjoy your efforts ?
-
Yes...that, and our better players look absolutely stuffed.

Zac just shouldered Hannan high. MRP???
