  1. Wow: Top 3 Leaderboard after Round 17 Lynden Dunn 241 Nathan Jones 231 Bernie Vince 218
  2. What Tiger? And I hope noone asks me to describe her face....I don't think i've seen it.
  3. I thought Terlich was trying to be Geoff Edelstone myself. But Gabby Grecko could do with a bit more work.
  4. 3 T's from SA: Which 3 out of Terlich, Tapscott, Trengove & Toumpas?
  5. First half of the year - Pederson for me by a good margin, considering where he had come from last year.. Second half - Jetta. Much man-love for this guy. For consistency across the whole year - it's out of Tyson and Dunn. Tyson was an unknown quantity but really became a central pillar in our midfield. And Dunn - thankfully, at last something good has come of all those top 20 picks over the last few years (Dunn, Bate, Blease, Strauss, Cook, Gysberts, McLean, Jack W___s, Grimes, T$, etc. etc.)
  6. A player's skill is not measured by kicking skills alone, or even disposal kills in total, including handballs. If he were to meet the expectations of D'Landers, Riley would need to be a whole lot better in disposals, and would have eyes in the back of his head. On the other hand, several posters have said that we shouldn't judge Riley until he has had a clear and uninterrupted pre-season, I don't know if a clear pre-season will make much of a difference, because I don't think that "skills" in the traditional sense of the word are his core contribution to the team. To me, Riley is reminiscent of a young Nathan Jones. He gets in and under, often pulls out the ball from a pack, has some great evasive skills (far under rated until you see them in action), and dishes the ball off to nearby team mates.
  7. Hope you are very very wrong. That is not the way he has played at Casey.
  8. Right knee. The one that was strapped up. Injured during a ball up. Faaaarrrrrk.
  9. Hang in there jazza. The game might be more engaging than we expect.
  10. That was truly a LOL moment. You still have it OD!
  11. Happy BD, ET. And your likely choice from the menu will be.....?
  12. OK - who has what on the menu tonight? Mine is curry and rice - home made korma and rogan josh. Aperitifs have been a few beers and now moved onto the wine. Decided that the game being at Etihad, I'm better off not being on full alert for the broadcast.
  13. Reckon Riley deserves more than being a sub.
  14. You start going to more Scorps games than Dees games just so you can see who might be up and coming among the newer recruits. Then you find out that the Scorps are as bad as the Dees, if not worse. (both true)
  15. Camel?, not alpaca BBO?
  16. Aren't you supposed to be manning our northern borders or something? Chinese hordes and all that?
  17. Lovely. Do you know what DL posters look like? What I might look like? Can you please focus on DB's argument or lack thereof? Then he can legitimately be shown for the half-wit he is.
  18. Disagree there bb. To my way of thinking Jack has been gifted way too many games for his form, unlike most other players on our list (with some obvious exceptions e.g. Frawley this year).
  19. I just want to see him treated like any other player and see how he responds. Forget the whole #1 pick stuff. Get dropped if you don't contribute enough. Earn your spot back in the side. No kid gloves. Have to fight for a game, and to keep being selected. It seems that Jack hasn't had to learn the lessons of life in the real world of football. That's when we would see if he is worth keeping or should be traded. Have some guts footy department, Roos and selectors. Stop playing favourites with Jack. It would actually be good for his character and hopefully great for his contribution and development on the footy field.
  20. OD, don't want to give you more reason to dread 2015, but yesterday our VFL team had 15 AFL players in it, and they have had similar numbers for most of the year. They played Coburg, a non-aligned VFL club, and lost. They slipped to wooden spooners in the last match of the VFL season. So our VFL team, stacked with AFL players, is not even up to VFL standard. Hang in there OD, our time will come. But we all may need a few more of modern medicine's miracles to keep us aroud long enough to see the day it happens.
  21. Here's my observation from a Casey game, late June vs Williamstown. The action I describe took place within about 20-30m of where I was standing. : #163 bjDee Back on the topic of today's game, I had a good look at Michie at times today. In no way did he do enough to be considered for promotion but gee he shows some good old fashioned footy skills. Saw him shark the ball and look upfield for a disposal option. Hard against the boundary, downwind, kicking against the wind. Willy players coming at him from the left side. He was about to dispose, then pulled the ball in and sidestepped one player coming in from his left. Was about to dispose again, and again another enemy came flying in from the left. Michie at the last minute baulked and sidestepped a second time and then sent the ball forward cleanly to a contest further along the boundary, having no other real options. It happened within the space of about 2-3 seconds but looked so smooth and beautiful to watch. Looks to me like he has some serious talent. Wish he could get amongst it more and really prove his worth.
  22. Welcome to planet Earth. We are your friends. Did you bring any good footballers with you in your spaceship?
  23. Maybe on occasion at AFL level but his disposal was quite good today.
  24. Defence was under a lot of pressure in last qtr. It would take us 3-4 kicks to get up to the wing, then a turnover and Coburg would run and bomb it long into their goals with the breeze. The fact we kept turning it over says we didn't have the necessary skills and class to work it all the way up to our forward line, despite the number of AFL players on the field. They are just playing to meet mimimum standards rather than to raise the standard. At the end I felt a bit like after the GWS game. Just empty. It was a very different type of game , but same outcome. Just so sick of following hopeless losing teams.
