The intel I have is that Clarry won't be risked next week!

You highlight one of the many issues with the fixture, and the opportunity teams now have given there are a couple of extra Byes - i.e. games against Kangas , Eagles , maybe tiges.  In that players can be rested without too much risk to the game result.

Chris Scott did this last week resting Tom Hawkins against the Kangas, plus jake Koladaschini.  Matt tabener 'managed' by Freo against the eagles this week.

We should do this with Clarry against the Tiges for sure with cats coming up the week after.  We play Kangas once and Eagles twice. Will be interesting to see our approach to players needing to be nursed.

don't forget, laura kane IS part of the boy's club

    • moved into head office
    • groomed into a role in the exec

    nothing changes down in docklands

I have a close contact currently employed inside HQ.  He/she says the team is heavily loaded with staff with long periods of employment and the organiastion is inherently conservative and in dire need of fresh faces.

Dillon is a 20 year man for example. Laura Kane as described above.  etc.

Both are currently in search of a backbone but that's another issue.

Do we think someone like PeterV'landys would take the rubbish the MRO handed down this week. I think not.

dunkley still having nightmares from september 25 2021 annihilation

And digging a bit deeper, closer inspection of the 3rd quarter triumph in 2021 shows that Trac's miracle goal in the 3rd was enabled by a brilliant shepherd on Dunkley by ......KOZZIE PICKETT around the back of the pack.

That makes Kozzie a good bloke in my book and Dunkley jsut a sook as your indicate Daisy.

I'm posting a tin of metal polish today to Jake so he gave give his medal a spruce up.

Jackson's case is also due to the pathetic protection that clubs have with their high draft picks. I have said it many times, 2 year contracts are laughable for top 10 players.

It should be 3 + 1 (club option).

Yep we were screwed, but Jacko got a medal and I'll be forever grateful to him for his contribution.  I even hope jesse gets some success having overcome huge issues. Not against us though, maybe the Pies.

I have reduced the amount of media content I read, listen to or watch in recent years. Far too many morons and sensationalists.

I too have done this. I have KAYO but only watch games and First Crack for Joey. Rets is rubbish and its the best thing Iv'e done lately to reduce outrage at the AFL and media.

However, lets just add this to the list of spineless AFL calls which includes:

The Brownlow effect  - favourites get off.

The Cripps rule - no explanation needed( also called the Pendles rule)

The good bloke rule - Cameron

The media darling rule - Trent Cotchin rule is its correct terminology

The Whately Rule - known as the toe-the-party-line rule. or don't upset head office calling them out

The Robbo rule - see the Whately rule

The Toby Greene Rule - used to be castigated, now loved by everyone so he gets a free pass( but deserves it anyway)

There must be others but I'm avoiding even reading this stuff and will await our thrashing of the tiges next week to look forward to.  Everything else is white noise to me. Its fantastic.

I literally cannot remember a time when all our players wanted to sign up in the past 40 years

The club and staff have to be commended

Poor start to 2024 but he has the aggression and skill to be a 200 game KPF

You nailed the crux of the issue DD.

So proud of a club with leadership and culture that now is a destination club.  All one way to us.

Yes I know about Hogan - but absolute extenuating circumstances to go home , and who can blame Jacko - he became a premiership star with us, so home then became way more attractive.. Understandable.

So where was the great Essendon edge. It was more like watching thomas the tank engine having tea and scones with emily.

    Precisely Dl4e.

As Goody said. You can talk about culture. It's only actions that count. Our team has it in spades.

20th anniversary of no bomber finals wins here we come.

the only way he gets a week is if it comes down as medium contact, and i remain confident we'll try and get it downgraded to low, and a fine

just don't hire adrian anderson as our representative; he's a lovely chap, but i can't recall the last time he had a win at the tribunal

No way will it be garded medium. Low for sure.

I loved Goodys repsonse in the presser .  he mentioned Kozzie was smothering - inferring it was a Maynard defence - and  although not one now was highlighting the irony of the situation.

Yes, I too felt that their players were treating May fairly. Unlike those bloody comentators who complained that they weren't 'testing him out'.  Those blokes really believe in sportsmanship - not.

Interestingly the crows player Soglio has come out strongly just now defending Kozzie.  " Nothing in it"  played on.

The Ch 7 commentators are substandard and no amount of criticism by us will change that sadly.

The addition of betting spruiker Daisy Thomas says it all. Hopeless.

Taylor- don't get me started.  Selwood has also drunk the Kool Aid already judging by his comments re: Kozzie.

Nah no walkovers this week. Getting a win alone will be a pretty good achievement against a mob who is desperate and in their own park.

Spot on.  Flying out tomorrow with two wins from two in the toughest gather round draw for sure (playing both SA teams in a true home ground advantage to them) will be the in-season highlight for me.

A one point win will satisify me.

Our draw BTW is scandalous but predictable AFL stuff up of the important things.

It really did feel like a final.

    ❤️💙❤️💙

I think you something to do with cheer squad wcw.

Can I say what a fabulous effort you put in setting up a mighty albeit surrounded by ferals presence at the goals end at Adelaide.

It looked wonderful on TV and I reckon was hugely appreciated by the players.

Well done on the huge flag waving effort during the faux INXS power pre game anthem too.

That clubs got an inferiority complex imo.

    Great job.

    Go redlegs.

Professional win with some terrific individual efforts and highlights.

Goody looks a genius with his selections.

    Hore replaces may.

And Petty goes back to cover Lever.

Despite losing our two best key defenders for a half, on a perfect day for footy the oppo can't break 50 points.

Hore stays for sure but he's 15kg minimum lighter the Steven.  Not sure how we replace how May playes.  A real test for the coaches to be creative.

Contrary to some on here I thought Petty's last 1/4 looked like he had never left defence. very good, espe in the air.

    TMac great also.

Hawks aren’t as terrible as a lot of people think and Mitchell is a smart coach who will do everything to disrupt our game…:that said you’d expect class to win out in the end and us to get home by 25-35 points

I totally agree but you’ve got to actually kick them not brush your foot against their leg. There’s no force to it and that’s got to be taken into account. Also Robbo thinks he should have been suspended so clearly it’s the correct decision.

Remember the olden days that a player was called "kicker " from the crowd as an insult if they had attempted or tried to kick someone.  That's where Robbo was rightly coming from. It is a low act. (Not Maynard standard mind you)

    It was Sicilys intent.

    He's a kicker.

When Oliver, Trac and Viney are all having dominant games it's hard for our next midfielder to rack up a lot of disposals. They can't all get it at once!!! Sparrow stays in.

This fascination of change for changes sake (or to appease our curiosity - "the grass is always greener on the otherside of the fence" approach), is not conducive to strong team culture. A strong team culture builds belief and confidence - which is crucial for players to be in form.

    Spot on. Leave sparrow alone

He gets full marks for endeavour. Excellent gf contributions. Not everyone is a clarry or trac. He stays imo
