  1. Rogue I don't think they gave up. I think it is a lot more simple than that. Just not good enough One team was good enough in 2010 The Dees were a long way off. In 2011 we are still not good enough. We have a number of players that cannot make the standard for 100+ minutes most weeks. IMO no amount berateing etc will change that fact. Hopefully A few of the young draftees will improve and show the way in the next few years. But until then we have a lot more misery to endure. unfortunately another "melbourne" year lies ahead.
  2. Everything so have said above is true RR. But I would trade almost anything for a premiership Hopefully in the next 10 years because after that I will probably be too old to give a stuff.
  3. consider it accepted
  4. Where in my comment does it mention the word "culture" My comment is about success. WCE have had it in spades we have not simple as that. I said I would trade some success for a loss of our "choir Boy" image. As for the rest slagging me off is not much of an answer.
  5. After 47 years RR I could tolerate it, 2 GF appearances and 1 win then a recovery in a few years. I can tolerate that, it sounds a lot better than a 47 year drought now that "is a really poor show". Give me some success and if that means a couple of Cousins' at the expense of choir boys so be it.
  6. Me too C&B Any one notice a certain played called Darling with another good game and 2.2 goals again. Pity about his naughty boy status.
  7. Not sure why everyone is on your back. I agree with you I have mates who are members of Essendon and Hawthorn When I go with them the atmosphere is totally different. There is an air of "we will win today" even when they are doing badly. people are on edge, keyed up for the fight ahead. The battle of britain is about to start. The best way I can describe the MFC is that "we are going out to do well today boys" Now that maybe a little over stated but I hope you get the message. It is just really different.
  8. yes I know sometimes I think all there is left to do is "pray for a miracle" It will probably work as well as anything else.
  9. you and me and about 35 000 others Akum.
  10. Me too DC but does the FD have the balls to try?
  11. did you pinch ClarkWA's glasses?
  12. Neither am I , I cannot ski and I don't own a RR to get there.
  13. BB I vote for back to the Fuschias' How do we get the process going? Think of the cost savings, we will not need new jumpers the current pink one will be great. monday morning papers will be full of good head lines "Fuschias really palyed like a bunch of flowers yesterday" I am sure there is a big sponser chance here with " Garden World" or "Bunnings" A couple of players could change there names for the Sponser e.g Ivy Green We have got to start thinking outside the square!
  14. I'm tipping you should smash your rose glasses! Just joking, but like your confidence. Wish I could share it.
  15. PaulRB I have been doing exactly as you suggest for the majority of the last 45 years I am getting a little weary of the process. I blame my father if only he had supported Hawthorn, Carlton or god forbid Collingwood!
  16. Where was Bennell's speed on Saturday He came on when every one had played 60 minutes. You would assume he would burn every one off. But did little, he had 3 kicks and 4 handballs. Jetta at least goes and gets the ball.
  17. Yes but is the reason they struggle that they are just not good enough? You can [censored] a poor horse all day but he still won,t win the Melbourne Cup.
  18. Guys are we sure we are good enough! I am beginning to wonder Perhaps the reason we fail is that do not have enough good players to take us above the bottom eight. Perhaps we simply over rate our quality. I have two mates who tell me constantly that I over rate our players The reason we struggle every other week may be that we are just not good enough!
  19. On the subject of junior we are in total agreement. Bloody terrible.
  20. Mate take off your rose glasses. We have lost one of the top three league ruckman for 8 weeks and one of our top three defenders for the season. The first two back ups, Spencer is out for the season and Fitzpatrick 6 - 8 weeks We have lost probably our best defender for at least 6 weeks We have lost one of our few grunt players in Bail for a similar period. Trengove is out for another two matches Scully may get back for the second half of the year. On top of that the form of our captain is so poor that he should be dropped to Casey. I cannot see us improving on 2010 in my wildest dreams. I see no more then 7 wins at best for the season.
  21. So Choko On that basis we have another 6.7 years of DB to go. Not sure I can go the distance. There is of course another thing wrong with your arguement. Malthouse got them into 2 grand finals in a lot less time than 10 years and while they had a few big losses I don't remember anything to rival our disasters.
  22. You have my vote WYL but I think there is very little chance of him (1) leaving collingwood and (2) if he does there will be a bidding war that i think we would lose. I would do whatever it takes but then I do not run the MFC. Yes I know "thank god" I can hear you all say!
  23. Some guys live for the rush Has anyone asked him re the Dees in 2012? if he is not available what do you propose? Please do not say Roos he has said a number of times he is not coaching an AFL team in the next couple of years. Look forward to your thoughts.
  24. So Nasher do we just over rate our players? Are we only a bottom 6 side after all? may be JC could not get us higher!
  25. Then we are doomed to more of the same in 2012. Just a question "how do you know"?
