I love this selection. Did we go “needs first” over “best available”? The hell would any of us really know…?
Currently, we are screaming out for a bit of pace and precision on the outside. I personally thought Hunter was bit of a downer and Langdon was nowhere near his best.
Also, to those bemoaning the non-selection of Curtin… Lever. May. I think we prefer to recruit our key defenders once they’re already hardened and seasoned and I am totally fine with that.
Best of luck Caleb.

Remember when Lindsay Thomas came sliding in and broke Gary Rohans leg? At the time and by the letter of the law that was a “football act”.

They tried to intimidate us verbally and physically and you'd have to say it worked in their favour.
A tactic that’s worked against us for a very long time. We are lovers not fighters.

FFS umpiring didn’t cost us that game.
Carlton were hungrier for 99.9% of the contest. Facts.

As a footballer weid is “above average” in absolutely nothing. To say he is vanilla is an insult to the spice itself. There is nothing “spicy” about Sam Weideman. Every singly movement the guy makes is unconvincing. He’ll kick 3 or 4 on any given occasion yet every mark is kinda fumbly. Every set shot hooks hard. Offers absolutely nothing defensively. Pack his bags, spare us the cap space, my god I’m so done with this half assed footballer.

Lest we forget North in 2016 - if we play like this after the Bye then that’s exactly what will happen.

Not wrist slitting time, but definitely if you’ve got a heavy bag, I’d be giving it a decent workout.
Ooh I’ve already given my heavy bag a pretty good workout so far this season!

All things considered, we’ve had a pretty bloody good start to the year. Let’s just chill out a bit, forget about today, enjoy the week off and then go out and win a flag. Woo go dees.

Well that was predictable. A total failure of all involved from coaches to players. We certainly know how to embarrass ourselves on the big day. All we will hear for next week is Buckley Buckley Buckley !
I feel like all I’ve heard the past 30 years is “Buckley Buckley Buckley!”
we lost the game of footy, but today was a win for footy.

Apparently the guy behaved inappropriately with Riolli's GF, Rioli remonstrated, the guy punched Rioli in the eye and Bolton stepped in to defend both Rioli and his GF. Your assumption was pretty much trash.
Whoah easy there big fella!
My assumption was that a violent incident occurred and Richmond are choosing to justify it and not hand out any sanctions.
I say their culture is trash because over the last couple of years there has been a number of incidents that that club has been involved with. A lot more than any other club. And because it's Richmond, they are trash. Always have been, always will be.

So... You're allowed to throw a few punches if a girlfriends being harrassed? What happens if the bloke who wears the punches ends up in an ICU?
Regardless of their success, richmond are trash. Their culture is trash.

This morning, on Gerard Whately's segment, the "Means Test", David King suggested that Melbourne need to start looking at strategically resting players, with a view to cranking up again, in the last 3rd of the season.
Given that many of us on here, think that Maxy is either carrying an injury or is just tired, Fritta, only just recently had surgery on a broken hand and by his recent standards, was ordinary against the Swans. Gus is not going particularly well. Both Kozzie and Dogga are young and almost certainly need a rest before the home and away is over. Despite word from the club to the contrary, Trac must be sore after collecting a corky right on the siren
Is David King right? Should we tank.... sorry..."manage" our core group now, or wait a bit longer? I want to beat Carltank more than anything this week.
After that, let's see. Your thoughts?
I currently have every bit of faith in Burgess and co to appropriately manage each individual's workload throughout the season.
David King suggests we need to start looking at resting players based on what information? He hasn't any access to players GPS data, medical reports, anything at all. Trust the club to make good decisions and not get spooked by this d-bag.

Why?
Personally I thought Petty has a looked a little shaky in both games he has played this year. Which is fair enough, players need time to settle in and find that confidence.
Mitch Brown, i dunno... He is a bit of journeyman and has that experience under his belt. Has spent time down in the backline at points throughout his career and whilst he doesn't do anything spectacularly well, I think he has a solid footy IQ that'd compliment guys like Lever and May.
Happy enough to see them persist with Petty, I think he obviously has far more upside going forward. I just figured Brown to be an interesting left-of-field alternative

It ain't gonna happen, but how would we feel about Mitch Brown replacing Petty down back?

Aknowledges that the sides been going really well and all he's gunna try and do is "fit in to the structures".
We got a seasoned, 60+ goal a year key forward just casually and calmy entering the line up.
Goddamn, we really are flying right now.

For a Sunday game, the squad on thurs night and confirmed team friday night as per usual for decades. Not sure what you mean by truth/best guess, it was fairly rare for someone to be replaced in the 25/22 after they were released
how about you ignore my posts and let me have a rant.
Cheers
Completely agree with ya. I miss the momentum the thursday night announcements created. Makes for good water-cooler conversation on the friday.

Would you wanna be a lead up forward on two cooked legs with the way our midfields going tonight?
