  1. How about being the standover man at the club? His influence on the media side of things allows him unfettered influence with absolutely no responsibility to the club.
  2. Ws quite a gracious mea culpa but I agree he became somewhat prickly when Gary Lyon was brought into the discussion.
  3. As with everything else Collingwood and Carlton always seem to things better than us. Even tanking.
  4. We are Melbourne supporters. We all fantasise. I'm sure this is on the back of every supporters mind. Not many will admit it yet.
  5. If Clarkson hasn't signed an extension with the hawks then he is AVALIABLE. Question is have we the will and determination to sway him to us?
  6. If we could pinch it will a great coup. There are indications he is not happy at the hawks. But if he is stalling for more money there then we should match it and up it ala Scully at GWS.
  7. Denis Pagan has struck out in a similar situation at Carton. Also too long out of the game. We should be throwing bucket loads of money at Clarkson. A contempory of Stynes, Lyon and Viney at the club and has the aura of requited success.
  8. I get it now. The club is not spending enough on bananas.
  9. This kind of behaviour in facing a disaster or adversity is a reaction of one who is helpless and defeatist to do anything in the situation. Not the behaviour of a leader.
  10. The biggest stink at this club has been the passing parade of champions of highly paid mediocrity who had to be dragged out kicking and screaming from this club. Their ungraciousness at having undeserved long standing and highly rewarded careers have set the example for the new generation.
  11. So where are the facts? Are we paying Bailey enough? Or do we need new exercise bikes?
  12. Tend to agree, but anyone will do. It is not a coaches responsibility anymore. Only the players can repair the damage. Its up to them to restore pride back into the club for the remainder of the season.
  13. The most bizarre aspect of this shambles of a season it has been is that we still have a chance for the finals. Mathematical it may be but it is real. Will it be enough to make the players wake up? There is a final chance for redemption for those who have let the club down. The only big change I can see for now is the coach
  14. Contriteness from the biggest apologist on this forum.
  15. Feel that way too and I've copped a few whacks for asking all the wrong questions. They will be back. They just need a few days off to dream up some new excuses.
  16. The supporters will get there first.
  17. Bailey will be sacked ASAP and we are going to get a better coach for the rest of the season. Be patient.
  18. The whole coaching department should go. They are all tainted. If Bailey is clueless so are his assistants.
  19. Well 3/4 of our players cant. Brock rarely could hit a target at any distance. Our deficiency in this aspect of the game has been exposed time after time and continues. Just watch our last game replay and compare the Hawks kicking efficiency against ours.
  20. The last thing we need is another player who can't kick the ball to add to our collection. Never sinks in does it.
  21. These TS threads were always going to be an ordeal by fire for all. Not of our making but thats reality. But it is clear to me the powers that be on this forum favour taking the MFC spin line on this matter. Fair enough, it helps to protect the club for the short term but is not conductive for rational debate thus allowing the lunatics to take over the asylum.
  22. Not me. You can count me in he's already [censored] off faction. When this charade is over there will no left to fight with but yourself.
  23. I tend to think we might have a good game. My reasons are we tend to play better after a post Hawthorn shaming. Where there is life there is hope and we still have finals incentive. Geelong have been slightly off the boil recently and no doubt would have penciled this game in as a certainty a long time ago. A lazy performance by them is not out of the question. Of course I'm placing faith that our boys are going to go in a 100%. If we do play at our best, the large ground will suit us unless wet and/or windy. And why not, we have nothing to lose. Plus strange things can happen when there are crazy odds like I'm seeing on places like Betfair. I still think it will be difficult to win but I anticipate a good effort from us. The optimist in me predicts a 17 point win for us. Now you can all laugh.
  24. Agree, there would be quite a few "I rate" players in our team that would look far more accomplished and complete if they played for Collingwood. But I like his character.
