Nothing wrong with being realistic. We are NO chance against the Hawks and the Pies. If we don't get flogged I'll be pleased. We are 50-50 maybe 60-40 to beat the Tigers. After that a surprise victory is our best chance. Based on our record over the past 2 years we are no chance away from the 'G. The reality is, we are not going to win a lot of games this year. 5 or 6 wins will be OK.

Sacre Blue! Melbourne must have the record for the most number of injuries without even playing a regular game. Let's see ... they have now had SIX months since last season finished. We have injuries of one type or another to: Watts, Bate, Morton, Johnson, Green, Garland, Moloney, Meesen, Bruce, Wonaeamirri, Davey, Spencer, Blease. Gasp

I wasn't at the game but if the injury was due to a collision rather than lateral movement he is a chance to escape without serious injury. Mind you, if DB says it 'looks bad', that's a very concerning sign. It's in the lap of the Gods.

Perhaps I can help. Dunn was an ordinary footballer in the worst side in the AFL. Sadly, it matters little whether he plays or not.

I wasn't counting the really young players. I'm sure Watts is a very good kick. Grimes is a good kick. Dunn is a good kick but RARELY gets the pill! Maric!!! gasp. He is a LONG way from convincing me he can kick a footy well.

Game plans are only useful if players are consistently executing the 'basic' skills. Very few of our 'better' players have above average kicking skills. (Green,Davey, Sylvia and Bate are the only four I can think of.) Many have 'adequate' skills and, indeed a number have below average kicking Skills.(Bruce, Warnock, Bartram, Jamar are all poor.) Keep recruiting guys that kick well. Keep delisting players with below average skills.

Help me out! Dean tells us that Davey is "sore". What does that mean? LJ is wearing an arm bandage that makes him look like WW1 soldier waving to his girlfriend from the trenches. Is he injured? Did Sam Blease break a leg or an ankle? Has Jack Watts got a sore back or a hamstring problem? Is it "sore" like Davey or "sore" in a different Way?

Bartram, Miller, Johnson, Dunn, Bell, Jetta ... would get a game at ... ?

There's a quatum leap needed to go from 15th to 14th. Pick any side other than Richmond or Melbourne, they are miles in front of us at the moment. Its going to be another VERY tough year. Don't play the known hacks. Keep playing the young blokes.
