There are a few of us now going into our 4th year playing in the Dland Legends League. Your record is very impressive. One GF win (last yr) and a runnerup in a previous year. I thought Mega_Watts was the team to beat. PM your team selection prior to the 1st game lol

With 4 weeks to go before DT kicks off I decided to extend the voting date. I want to make sure more players have time to have a say. Hopefully this limits the complaints... "I didnt get a chance to vote........" etc etc This still gives me plenty of time to send out the invites. The Legends League will be the notified 1st (by PM) what the code is for their league. Just for the record apart from the number of trades used for AFL or VS, there isnt much between the 2 sites. AFL Fanasty so far is the preferred choice. Voting WIll End Sat 15th Feb. after that we begin to process of who goes into what league. Tally so far: VS = 4 AFL = 8 NB: there will be at least one alternative league available (so far its looking like VS as the alternative) for those wishing to play both versions of DT, but this league will have NO bearing on the Demonland comp in 2014.

There are 30 odd days until the DT season kicks off. I want to begin the process of issuing the codes so everyone is able to join their respective leagues.As annoying and confusing etc as it is, with the AFL and Virtual Sports. I am requesting our confirmed coaches to voice their preferred choice. I will add VS has the "Group League" that allows anyone to join. We can track our scores against the other leagues or any non DLand / MFC supporter that wants to join. AFL fantasy doesnt have this feature. This feature alone has added benefits in the future running of our comp.The prizes on VS are better, slightly harder to play, from what I am reading regarding feedback from the bigger DT leagues VS is their preferred choice. Whatever way it swings, I will keep one league available on the opposing site so anyone playing both sites can also join a DLand league.But only one site will be used for our DT Comp. I will play both sites, mainly to get a feel for what ends up being better for 2015. Atm we have 24 confirmations for 2014 and another 35 odd from 2013 yet to confirm. Great report! Not only did I feel like I was there. I feel like we won a final. Got my adrenaline pumping. I'll have a drink of reality later but not before enjoying the positives.

The AFL and VS had to throw us a curve ball, if it wasnt hard enough setting up and organising the players in their allocated leagues. I'm still undecided to what looks better. I'll just go on popular choice. If that doesn't work, I'll have to make an executive descision. All I can say is there are 3 leagues setup on both AFL Fantasty and 3 leagues setup on VS Dream Team. That part of it is ready to go. I cant send invites out yet until a descision what one to use is made.

All I can suggest you do for now is register with AFL Fantasy and Virtual Sports Dream Team. You can select your players etc while we come to a conclusion what site is most popular. From that you play both during the year or just go with the one we decide to use. You have been added to the list. What league you will end up in will be decided in due course but you will notified.

ATM I am favouring Virtual Sports web site. Unless there is an outcry from existing coaches VS might be the way to go. They started DT and I cant see any reason (YET) why they would mess it up. The prizes look good. I'll wait until they open their site and see their layout etc. I'll register our leagues with them once its officially gets under way on Friday. We have 3 leagues registered with AFL Fantasy, so the options are open for suggestions. All I can suggest at this stage is for everyone to compare the 2 sites. You can play both, but our comp will be on one or the other. Virtual Sports have the knowledge and the experience in running fantasy footy. I have registered with both so to keep my options open. In the meantime keep the confirmations and requests rolling in. The database is being updated with every request.

You should be able to use your original name, afaik it allows for coaches with the same name. You could change the "o" in demonland to a zero. Dem0nland.

Thats fine. Choose whatever name you want. As requested in previous posts, just post your name change in here. (as you have done) I'll update the database as we go, with names changes , confirmations coming in, and new requests to join one of the leagues.

NP. But like I said that info was a few yrs ago, today there might be a better and cheaper way to do it. IIRC foxtel passes through the DVD recorder and the recorder to the TV. I used the panasonic not just for recording from the TV, but I edited a bucket load of VCR tapes on to cd /dvd edited out the adverts etc.So it has added benefits. Like anything in life do your research 1st. then make a descision.

AFAIK your best bet is to buy a DVD recorder with 320+gig HD, dump the data onto the DVD recorder then burn to usb or dvd /cd disc. I know a panasonic dvd recorder will do it. But havent tried it with foxtel myself. Some tech wizards on here might know of a better way. I looked into this a few yrs ago. I have a panasonic recorder that I use to record, then burn to dvd from the TV, But never invested in foxtel.There was info on the net about setting this up.

I dont want to confuse anyone BUT we have a choice between 2 Dream Team Sites. 1: AFL Fantasy https://fantasy.afl.com.au/landing/index.html 2: Virtual Sports - .Dream Team http://afldreamteam.virtualsports.com.au/ Virtual Sports are the original creators of Dream Team. Either way we can stick with the AFL and create the leagues from their site, or can setup the leagues in VS web site. I'll go on popular choice amongst our existing coaches to what they prefer. I'm undecided, so I'll go with whatever seems the best choice. You can setup a team in VS now, and fiddle around with your team. as its open to register. To register a league won't be available for over a week so it seems. Anyone can play both, but what is the preference for our Demonland Comp?

I take it your post as posting a confirmation on behave of someone without a Demonland username? If so, thats not a problem until I need to verfiy or contact this person.I dont have a Howezat on my database from 2013. PM an email addy if you can. In the meantime I'll stick him/her on the 2b added list. There looks to be a few coaches without a demonland account, it makes it a lot easlier to organise if they do have one. If I post the codes publically we could have anyone joining the wrong league. Then I have to kick them out and get them in another league.It then gets messy. If anyone knows someone that is in the Legends league or have qualified for another league, and dont have a Dland account, If they can Pm me their email address I'll contact them. There will be a public DT league (Reglegs?) that everyone will be able to join up and play. I'll post this code in this thread. I'll have a better idea once more confirmations come in and crunch the numbers.

Perhaps you might want to give some thought to recruiting from the LFL (Womens Gridiron). I'm not sure if any qualify for Chicks U18's. None looked under 18 to me. And they are not affliated with our own Legends League (atm), although perhaps something can be arranged. Demonland Legends might be in need of a sponsor?

The question remains, can those named in our top league (Legends League) back it up in 2014. If they do I expect them to rattle the top 10+ Confirmation for 2014 are now required. If your name is in one of the 3 leagues then I need to reconfirm everyone is still around for 2014. If anyone wishes to be added, that wasnt part of DT in 2013 just post your intention to play and we'll add you in. Before 2014 gets under way I will post how the promotion / demontion system will work. If any of our 'experts' have some links or advice to help the newbies or those struggling and wanting to improve feel free to share. DT web site is now open to view all the players prices for 2014.
