  1. Doesn't shut down an opponent, doesn't hurt teams on the rebound, can't kick very far, not very quick, etc.
  2. 5AM at a club, given the circumstances. Not exactly prudent.
  3. When was his first shocker?
  4. Watching the tape of the first quarter I thought Yze started alright despite the outcry over his kick off the ground, and it would be a disappointing way to end his career if he did indeed call it quits.
  5. Unless all tickets have already been pre-booked, yeah. I can't see it being full
  6. We already struggle when the ball hits the deck in the forward line, particularly with Davey being played up the ground.
  7. Better than it's been this season. The comments on Injury Update regarding Rivers and Moloney aren't great though, and seem to raise a query over their return ETA. Very disappointing that Bartram is looking like missing most of the season after having such a great start in '06. I guess that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.
  8. I voted in the poll, but for what it's worth - I read an article in one of the Melbourne dailies - perhaps The Age online iirc - and it mentioned Demonland and Demonology. I thought I'd check them out and I've been lurking - and posting - fairly regularly since.
  9. With regards trading, most players are available if we can get the right deal for them. There's not much point trading guys who are going to be part of our next era at the Club - the McLean and Bates of the list - and there's not much point trading for another Pickett either. If we make any meaningful trades, they need to be for players who are going to add to our flag tilts in 3-5 years time. Ferguson has very little room for improvement IMHO.
  10. Totally agree.
  11. So following your line of argument, these senior players aren't up to it. Logically, we then need to question why they are still here. I have no doubt many of the players you have mentioned - Robertson, Green, Bruce - would have been worth something in a trade before now, but 'we' chose to keep these players. If they are not good enough, who is responsible for keeping them here? To put it into perspective, ND had been MFC coach for a few years before Green debuted, and Robertson was ~19 when ND started at Melbourne.
  12. If you have a membership valid for this game you can pre-book a ticket for the price of a booking fee only. Alternatively you can go to TD on the night and collect a ticket at a ticket booth free of charge on presentation of your m/ship.
  13. Last week I read that the AFL members allocation had already been exhausted...
  14. Don't make the assumption that people are judging ND based on the past 12 rounds. Btw, the guys that are 30 were rookies when ND came to the Club. If there are problems with the team, which is where you suggest people apportion blame initially, I suggest you keep that in mind.
  15. Longer than that
  16. You could have missed the greatest goal/mark etc ever to be taken in the red and blue. It's always worth sticking around IMO, even if it's just to watch closely a player you rate highly/don't rate at all and see how he goes.
  17. Haven't seen Neville play but I'm not writing off CJ and Warnock just yet. I imagine it's unlikely too many of Ferguson, Jamar, Ward, and Godfrey will be around much longer. Pickett will be retired long before we are next in a position to win a Premiership.
  18. Indeed - I created a thread at the end of last year saying the same thing. Neitz has said he'd want to do that, but who's the next captain? McLean has heaps of wraps and seems the likely choice. Will be interesting to see if posters on here are going to take the same line as they did on Bruce & Green re: their performances while Captain.
  19. We have plenty of players approaching or over 30, including a few who are only on the fringes of our best side. In addition, we need to make hay while we can so we actually have a team of decent players when guys like Jonest and Bate reach their peak - there are holes in our list.
  20. You need to stop riding the wave We were always going to struggle to go places this year, regardless of injuries. I have to agree that this has helped put the nails in the coffin of ND's coaching tenure though. If you have trouble seeing the light at the end of the tunnel choose your best 22 and then look at how many of them are young and inexperienced. Then look at the older guys in the team and ask yourself if you think they can be adequately replaced - or still be playing good footy - when our younger brigade are around their peak. There's plenty to look forward to, as we'll be a better side in a few years time.
  21. It's all about the McLean, Bate & co. era. When they're ~26 he'll be be 31, so I tend to agree.
  22. Can't blame him. Hard not to be optimistic that with a new coach and more experience in our younger brigade we might actually go places. Agree with most of the other comments but they've been said time and time again so it's hard to say much.
  23. Playing Davey in the midfield is robbing Peter to pay Paul. We're not quick, and Davey plays up the ground the same reason Ward phas been getting a reasonably regular gig the past couple of years. Funny how people can change their opinion so much after a loss though - I brought up our relatively slow midfield a little while back but no one seemed too keen to agree
  24. Funny how people were talking up our chances this year etc but now think the list is terrible and we're screwed. Anyhow, when guys like Bate and McLean are at their peak is the time we can start considering going places.
  25. Haha indeed!
