  1. When we consistently put wins on the board from playing interstate teams - away.
  2. The number 31 lost it's value when Barassi went to Carlton. Now another # 31 has turned his back on the club. Burn this number. It has no currency.
  3. One Herald Sun journalist suggested that it would be fair to receive the number one draft pick but in 2012. Sounds about fair. First pick in 2011 is compromised.
  4. I endorse bt's comments. Readers of the book may consider passing their copy of the book onto their local school. This has two benefits: The writer of the book gets a royalty every time it's borrowed from the school library(a handy future earner.) And the good story of Liam Jurrah becomes known. Good luck Liam.
  5. Good analysis Bhima. Prendergast is doing a good job. I would hope Davey is returned to the forward line where he did well in the past.
  6. Another good article from Flanagan. This time there is a very good couple of lines on Jordie McKenzie one of them comparing him to Mitch Robinson.
  7. Jetta will be a long term player. He has a fierce desire to win. Don't underestimate him (and don't get tackled by him!)
  8. Jordie. Courageous and can make a decision. Core player.
  9. It's no easy thing to front the media and apologize. I saw Beamer on the news and I thought he spoke well. Good on him. This in itself showed leadership.
  10. It is unwise to devalue the currency of ANY player on our list.
  11. There's two qualities that I admire in Jetta. He's ruthless. And he can make a decision. He will develop to be a very good player for us.
  12. Martin Pike delivered one of the best legitimate shirt fronts (it was in a Final I think, in the forward pocket) I have seen in the last twenty years. His opponent hit a brick wall. I was sorry to see him go. Quality footballer. Dare I say it; too good for the Club at the time.
  13. It does not matter what they say his height measures. We know he stands tall at the attacking end. And he makes his opponents nervous.
  14. Nothing to get excited about here. He might be just getting a competitive market value. It's Luke Ball, not Ablett, Bartel or Franklin. There's an element of cultural cringe in regard to this supposed need to find leadership. Look within.
  15. Valenti has a good future. He should be retained. In fact I'd say he has more upside than Ball who St Kilda doesn't care for. Remember we've had some good players do it the hard way. Players such as Bruce, Robbo, Davey and Jurrah.
  16. Further to the subject of posters who show disrespect to players of the Melbourne Football Club. Members have "Ignore User function." Go to My Controls once you have logged in. Scroll down to Options on the left hand side. Click on Manage Ignored Users. Click on The person you object to. Presto! Pest is gone. For good.
  17. Grant. In regard to the AFL. The smart thing to do is not to let them know that you have outsmarted them.
  18. Do not underestimate Petterd. He is/will be well worth holding on to.
  19. Brock McLean to Melb . for pick 2. Hold on. We already have him. Let's just forget about trading Brock.
  20. I've seen him play. The X Factor refers to the element of surprise and the impact that comes from an extraordinary display of skill. For instance, coming from "nowhere" across the pack to pull down an unlikely mark. On the other hand I like the way he drills his opponents into the ground with a tackle - much like I've seen Sylvia do. He woul be very hard to compete against.
  21. Nothing ordinary about Rohan. DB is developing a team that plays an exciting brand of footy. Rohan is a very likely type whose skills would fit. I'd be quite happy to take him at pick 2 subject to draft camp results of him and a few others.
  22. Hats off to Martin Flanagan. Embedded with the Dees this year, Flanagan has cast our club in a good light with a bright future. (It is the truth, no less!) Hopefully it will be said that he was witness to the resurrection of a great club and the rebirth of a football power. He clearly writes with feeling. I especially deelighted in his comments on Jimmy Stynes and Liam Jurrah. Good on you Martin. Come back again. Thanks.
  23. Jamar has been under-rated on this site. He should definitely stay.
  24. [quote What are the chances of us passing on Trengove and Morabito and take Gary Rohan at pick 2? Other than Scully, Rohan was the player who most impressed me at the Championships this year. Would be similar to the 2005 National Draft when Collingwood overlooked clear 2nd best player Xavier Ellis to instead take draft-day bolter Dale Thomas at 2. If we did go with Rohan i'd hope that he'd turn out better than Thomas!
