  1. Reminds me of the crowd for the Neitz tribute game, also against Hawthorn. Rubbish but imagine what it'll be like for teams that permanently disappoint when fans can watch every game at home and don't have to waste their day travelling to see garbage like that. Sadly I'm compelled to go and be there for it in person but if I was from the country forget it.
  2. Hope he can find something in the 2's and come back at the end of the year.
  3. If it was on a PSD free I wouldn't say no, but wouldn't want to pay anything. No chance realistically though.
  4. Do they have any non-fragile siblings?
  5. Update to my previous post, Tingay was on the list through 2000 without playing a game and B.Lovett retired in May 98 without playing a match that year. Darren Kowal was out at the end of 99 too. Shanahan and Matthew Febey were end 2000, Steve Febey 2001
  6. We will win this game, the flag, the Melbourne Cup, the Sheffield Shield and the Best New Artist at the Latin Grammy Awards.
  7. Prymke and Charles were 97 Smith, Stynes, B. Lovett end 98 Lyon, G. Lovett, Viney and Tingay (I think without looking it up) were end 99
  8. R21, 1998 http://demonwiki.org/Round+21+1998
  9. All fine if you're talking about the rest of his career, but right now he's adding nothing to the team and seems to be completely shot of confidence. I'm not entirely sure dropping him will help but to suggest you're happy with how he's going right now borders on taking the [censored].
  10. Do you generally have low standards?
  11. I'm a bit disappointed that after clicking on this thread I wasn't presented with an even wackier conspiracy theory.
  12. Agreed. A couple in the final shortlist but nobody in the final reckoning.
  13. I'd pay a tenner to sit on level 3 and actually see the game instead of watching 90% of it on the TV screens. Still, I'm a slave to this club so will be there anyway. God help us if we get thrashed for the next three weeks, there will be 17 people at the ground.
  14. Carlton '00 finals Geelong/Footscray at the end of '05 St Kilda '06 elim North in R2, 1998 is well underrated. That season could have gone anywhere after we lost to Freo, then to run away to a massive lead against the previous year's grand finalist before holding on in the face of a blistering comeback set the tone for that whole year. Pound for pound it's almost my favourite game of all time, probably because I've never seen it again since the day.
  15. Maybe he meant "Male to Male" and he was cracking onto KB?
  16. Agreed that you can't blame a pre-season for somebody not looking like they're interested. If he's not right or isn't confident in some part of his body then send him to a physio/psychiatrist, don't just hope for the best sending him out there to look stupid week after week because that's not helping anybody. We're teetering on the edge at the moment, and even though we're almost certain to be cannon fodder in the finals if we do make it let's at least have a proper go until the season is over and they can afford to do social experiments.
  17. Don't know why they didn't go for an option where you could just show the text overlaid on the player stats - showing the ground counts for nothing considering that it's well behind the text (which is generally impossible to follow because it skips and jumps). As you said the off-field stuff is great (except the trades are a bit wonky. North were very kind to offer me Daniel Wells for the lowly rated in game Stef Martin) but the game 'play' itself is awful. http://www.footyfanatic.net/ is ancient (came out in '07 I think and 2009 as late as you can get for lists) but considering that it's free it more than matches up if you don't want to fork out $25 for something which is badly flawed.
  18. The off-field structure of it is good but the actual gameplay itself is awful (though obviously some don't think so).. The only way I could play it (old and new versions) is to autosim the matches.
  19. Agreed that the clubs agreed to it etc etc.. but there's such a massive gap between what the Bears were given and what GCS/GWS are getting that it's a massive overcorrection of what Rules for the Bears were that you had to offer them any three players you liked as long as they'd played one senior match or a reserves final. Of course they weren't going to get anywhere under that ridiculous system (incidentally one D. Bailey was offered to the Bears but they said no!) but it's light years away from I'd have preferred them to give them the draft picks and if they must the salary cap exemptions but do an expansion draft a'la US Sports. Each club protects 25 players and the new team can draft up to two from each club. Then they'll get a decent spread of experienced players (with the option to pick some young kids from other clubs who aren't getting a game) without having to go through all this toss - and it would make them more competitive straight off the bat, which in the case of GWS will help them get a crowd of more than 50.
  20. Given that we haven't played a premiership match in Tasmania since 1952 I'm not sure that deserves to be on the list... I'm concerned about how rubbish we are anywhere other than the MCG, but there's a big question even there against any Victorian sides other than Richmond and Essendon so I'd like to see that addressed too...
  21. I'm pretty sure it only counts one click through for each IP in a certain timeframe. Otherwise people would be rorting it even more than they are now and I'd spend my entire work day double dipping and clicking the ads on Demonblog.
  22. Surely we'll draft Freddie Clutterbuck from East Perth. That's a living nickname. Forget Jaeger Bombs, if your really want to neck yourself have a Berlin Wall. Take a pint glass, put a bomb in it, top it up 75% with beer and fill the rest with Smirnoff Black. Smells like death, tastes like magic, sends men to their graves.
  23. Stand on the terrace behind the goals. At least if (when) we lose the locals will make you feel better about not being human filth.
  24. I shudder to think what the crowd will be like against the Eagles if we're not still in the finals mix. Hate the joint but will go anywhere to watch my team. Even, god help us all, Geelong.
  25. There goes one of our last remaining chances to win at Football Park. Still, the less people have to go to that Soviet constructed concrete slophole the better.
