Dare say that we wouldn't be maximising our value signing deals shortly before the tankquiry finishes and while the heat is on about organised sport allegedly being as corrupt as buggery. By who? I cbf going back and reading all her articles again but has she ever accused anybody individually of throwing games? She's mentioned all the big hitters but generally under the cloak of what's being investigated. The club can't sue for damage done to our reputation, so unless one of Connolly/Schwab/Bailey is going to have a pop at her under their own name it's not going happen. Having said that I'd love it if she had, but not sure anybody involved with this would take the oath and testify under penalty of perjury. Let's just take (hopefully) getting off and leave it there.

Does anyone have any information on the Fourths? I've picked up a little bit over the years (http://demonwiki.org/fourths) but it's seemingly not a competition that had very good records kept. It might not have even stopped at the 4ths, in a mid-50's Football Record I saw a reference to the Footscray Fifths (!).

Did they chuck the maximum number of AFL listed players in one team rule? That used to ensure there were a few randoms in every side. No doubt when our players start dropping like flies ten minutes into the NAB Cup a few spaces will open up for A. Random from Dingley and mates.

Hello all, Demonwiki now has all the MFC information from Footy Records entered on the relevant player/match/etc... pages from 1912-1927 and 1960-1998 with a few random years between 1928 and 1959 also thrown in. Also there's a lot of new 'unknown' players http://demonwiki.org/Unknown%20Players and ones we do know the full name of but often don't have much more information http://demonwiki.org/Other+Players. If you can help let me know, and if you're an ex-Reserves/Under 19's player who gets a mention I'd also be interested in hearing from you.

I agree with you, except I don't think it can be said the punt didn't work out. We got +2 goals a game from a rookie list player. It's disappointing that he didn't go on, but compared to most other rookie list players we got pretty good value out of him. In the end he probably only had a handful more really good games than Morton, but at least we paid peanuts for his brief career instead of a top pick.

NBA, NFL and NHL are a goldmine for outrageous tanking. Even the NBA lottery doesn't stop teams rorting the system and playing utter hacks to try and maximise their chances of getting pick #1.

Good luck to him, I hope he kicks none in Round 1, 15 in Round 2 and ends up avoiding the clink. For me he's not even rating 0.1% on the $cully Scale of treachery measurement.
