The Next Decade; Would you take this if it happened?
Diablo Deemon replied to Bobby McKenzie's topic in Melbourne Demons
I would take one I just want to be around to see it. -
Phil Scully offered GWS gig in November 2010!
Diablo Deemon replied to bing181's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is no chance that the brat will play us next season. If he does i'll be highly surprised. I propose instead of booing this prat. 20K plus MFC supporters stand up and turn their back on these flogs from GWS when they run out onto our hallowed turf. These cretins aren't fit for existence let alone recognition. The symbolism would be perfect. -
Phil Scully offered GWS gig in November 2010!
Diablo Deemon replied to bing181's topic in Melbourne Demons
There is absolutely no moral integrity in what occurred in anything that occurred. No revelation would surprise me except that his mum hasn't signed on as well. MFC is the winner out of this. Integrity intact, acted in good faith, supported its player, offered a sensible reasonable contract for what he deserved. It's a sad, pathetic sordid tale. -
Why?

Really unfortunate story we were never able to see him at his best which is sad. What is it with stress fractures and this club Grimes, Garland, Meesen. Hope he makes a career in coaching.

Training - Monday 7 November, 2011

What's/how is Gysberts going How is Evans going How is Grimes going Just for good measure how is Howe going What was the session ie skills or endurance any game plan work Who is designated to what groups eg forwards mids backs Pictures would be good Thanks in advance. -
Sounds like a few could take head of their own advice which is so oft pontificated. Much ado about nothing the hand wringing is rampant. Humiliation to the order of 186 Bailey should of been publicly flogged. That was laughable but my distaste for that coaching performance doesn't adress the sacking. Bailey knew of the emergency board meeting in the interest of expediancy and wanting to know where your chips lie a phone call I reckon would of been welcome relief for bailey He was obviously subsequently debriefed for the press conference to go ahead. His position was untenable the news of which any thinking person would realise was inevitable. Regardless of Jim's health Bailey would surely of wanted to know by any means possible The boards decision.

I wasn't going to bump this again but someone from the club has got To hold this turkey Denham to task. He has claimed this morning that Jim was unprofessional in spruiking Neeld at the detriment of Bailey. That we are the worst run club That we didn't look after Wonnamerri or do enough to get him to come back to the club. That we should of flown up there and to bring him back. This guy is running the dirtiest of agendas at the moment

I can't see any GWS has beens making it through a season. They will be the walking wounded next season soft tissue injuries will be chronic. I respect Junior he was a great servent but getting caught up in this farce is a cruel mistake. I give it a minimum of 2 years and a maximum of 5 before they ask and get further concessions. An NRL obsessed state and league heartland will massicare this farce and I think Grubby might get Committed for being the lunatic we all suspect. GWS needed to be immediately relevant to create a Relevancy in their market. Everything about GWS smells of a junket

The Age sheds a little more light on The situation "Wonnameari returned to Darwin and then home to the Tiwi Islands after the club best and fairest a month ago and has not been seen since He was due to return to Melbourne on October 10 to consult the surgeon who operated on his ankle, and then to join pre-season training that began yesterday. He is still yet to return."

From a purely football sense he needs to be fit before he gets on any list

Cliches that need to be banned on this site.
Diablo Deemon replied to ...'s topic in Melbourne Demons
Identifying cliches and putting said cliches in a cliche banning thread to complain about cliches on a public forum is cliche. Cliche is cliche. -
Your right about the tanking ultimately being a waste we went through hell for nothing To sing the club song 3 times in a season is just gut wrenching. MFC got the following Equalisation Funding - multiple millions of dollars no questions asked we wouldn't of got the 9 million or whatever it was if we had of kicked up a stink we were pantsed and put over a barrel 2 compo picks
-
It's ultimately speculation in absence of proof but there is too much that has been wrangled to believe the official line and this new piece of the puzzle hasn't been cooked in advance. multiple deals, inducements for family this I don't think was done during the end of season others indicated that the approach was earlier than stated. I think the fact the father was given a job with little credibility or credentials further lends credence to deals being sorted long before the official line
-
If your not convinced by now you never will be Look at the situation in it's entirety every facet has been orchestrated from maybe the outset this is another domino in a long line that indicate there was never any doubt he was going maybe just maybe the fact everyone who said he was signed back in February/march were right How can you possibly have any faith in this guys integrity when the facts all point elsewhere?
-
The fact that his dad has to be included under the salary cap indicates that it was an inducement for the Merc's signing This indicates that there was an approach before what was stated this deal was hatched during the china trip or even before. Guarantee it. We have won in this one we have cut loose a guy and family with absolutely no integrity. Hopefully the ex CEO is disgruntled and spills the beans on this farce. MFC next time make a stand and show that we will not act like wet nurses.

Patrick Smith is on line stiring up this Kennet approach on sen call up and rip into this looser.

Looks like he is out of the international rules. AFL_PKeane Patrick Keane It was AFL view that his preparation for series was not appropriate and he should not join the team. Aust squad will now stand at 23 players 14 minutes ago AFL_PKeane Patrick Keane AFL and Australian team management have determined that Colin Sylvia will not join the team for IRS series v Ireland.

MFC confirms the news http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/7415/newsid/125411/default.aspx Not much to say confirms what we have heard. Now a police matter so club wont make any further comment.

Hopefully a team mate wasn't the driver ! I will watch closely and reserve judgement till more is known.

You have identified the last piece of the jigsaw an elite midfield. I think the club has decided finally to get serious about development I think bringing in all this 1st round talent has been great. But our development of kids compared to the best has been poor. 2012 mini draft - is too far off cant play in 2013, have to wait till 2014 to get them out on the field that's a long time to wait to see an investment come to fruition. I wouldn't use next mini draft unless there is an exceptional option. Trade for an elite mid - I think we need 2 more elite mids aged under 23 ideally. I look at Hawthorn, Collingwood, Geelong they have 4 to 5 each. I think we have Maloney who is inconsistent but a good clearance player. Trengove will most likely make it to elite staus then the rest are honest but they're no certainties. Pendlebury is a fascinating one only signed for a year which is unusual I think he may be lured to GWS for money we cant compete with. Otherwise I don't see him leaving a team which is competing for premierships in Collingwood to come to a club that wants to compete in MFC. Goddard is too old for where we are 27 he'd contribute to make us a bottom 8 side and would be too old by the time we were ready to be a top 4 side. I also think Goddard is overrated as a midfielder he really is a rebounding defender HBF. Gaff is in the same case as Pendlebury. I would start with the following hit list: Boak - 23 Dangerfield - 21 Gray - 23 Caddy - 19 Hartlett - 21 Rockliff -21
