Just been told the standout at thecamp is Sam Reid- brother of Ben at Collingwood whom has been a defender for the last 12 months who played CHB for Vic country and Murray Bushrangers-192 -84-(27/12/910 whom excelled in the beep test 14.8 as well as other events.Martin also did well. Full results will be tabled tomorrow. A guy Braydon Norris from Murray Bushrangers- did a beep test of 15.7. Brayden Norris (Murray Bushrangers, VIC) Height: 186cm, Weight: 69kg, DOB: 27/11/91 Recruited from: Alexandra F/C Hard-running forward whose strong hands on the lead are a clear strength. Pace off the mark and sound endurance make him tough to match up on.

Peter German/our relationship with Casey
jayceebee31 replied to jayceebee31's topic in Melbourne Demons
SO SO SO TRUE -IF HE'S GONE -
IT IS RELEVANT AS WELL AS PERTINANT- IT IS RELEVANT BECAUSE IT IS NEWS- WE STILL WOULD LIKE TO PICK HIM UP IN PSD. SO THEREFORE IT IS NOT A FOREGONE CONCLUSION THAT HE IS GOING TO ESSENDON OR HAWTHORN & PERTINANT AS HE IS DAVEY'S COUSIN -WE STILL HAVE A CHANCE OF GETTING HIM.

JUST REPORTED IN HERALD SUN- Essendon ready to pounce on Shaun Burgoyne Finn Bradshaw From: Herald Sun October 01, 2009 2:54PM THE Bombers believe they can lure disgruntled Port star Shaun Burgoyne to Windy Hill despite Hawthorn being the midfielder's preferred destination. Burgoyne has nominated Hawthorn as his preferred destination, but new Essendon CEO Ian Robson today said the Bombers were waiting to pounce if the talks between Port and the Hawks break down. "There are some challenges between Port and Hawthorn to get that done," Robson told SEN this morning. "They may well get it done, because ultimately there's a will and a resolve to do it, but we stand as a very, very active participant on the margins of that conversation, and ready because We believe Shaun would be a great fit for us." "But we also respect that to date Shaun has indicated his preference is Hawthorn."

2009 Player Review - # 20 Colin Garland
jayceebee31 replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Of all the players, I believe we have to make sure he's fit is Col. I think he could turn out to be a great replacement as a Mr. Fix it- for Bruce. Actually I think Garland will make a brilliant winger. However, MFC have to through evertything they can to get him right ASAP. -
It was sad to read Jimm'a twitter to hear the sad news that a small brain tumour has been found. However, the great news , is no other cancer has been found on any other part of his body. Jimmy - for all of us- please God make this the last hurdle you have to come up with. Hope the Dees give you great uplift in 2010. I am sure all of us -Demonlanders send our best wishes to the whole Stynes family. for reference-jimstynes - small bump on recover, little tumour on brain, will know soon.Good news PETscan all clean on rest body.great support everyone xox on 30/Sep/2009 04:44 PM thinking of you.

Sam Blease, as you know-was taken pick 17, Born 19.02.91 Shown as 184 cms tall, 70 kls in weight. Sam is a very good skillful player, however in short spurts- moreover as a winger/ half forward flank. However will develop as he grows and develops, especially stamina. Scully, is a gut busting runner similar to a Judd type. Scully will break some of these other footballers. Will blend brilliantly with Maloney , Jones and Sylvia. I personally think Sylvia, after this preseason will be something special. And after seeing what Fevola has done- will be more interested to give his best as a footballer.

Actually he was stopped at 15.5 doing the beep test- he did not compltete it.

Peter German/our relationship with Casey
jayceebee31 replied to jayceebee31's topic in Melbourne Demons
Sorry , could not retrieve the thread- however, the basis was that Brad Gotch was not going to renew his contract and it was likely German would take the role- it was also highlighted and was critical that the MFC had been slack in not assuring German had signed a watertight contract- actually it claimed the contract was not signed. Hope that enlightens you further. -
It is interesting that the person overall in charge at Hathorn, Chris Fagan-Hawthorn head of coaching and development ,is one person that the MFC respect very much. To me, if Chris does let Beau go- we should not take him- we should go for our own through the National Draft.Hawthorn FC are made up of many ex Dees- Mark Evans-Football Manager, Leigh Newton etc.. Overall, I think their judgement is sound - I respect them overall.. Prefer Talia, Temel, Panos Vardy etc.. over Beau.Although he is only nearly 20 with possible upside.

Possiblity of change to the Rookie list
jayceebee31 replied to jayceebee31's topic in Melbourne Demons
Support your view totally -
Please advise why on earth would be pick Butcher - by your own admission he can't kick- we currently recommend getting rid of Newton and Miller- WHY- because they cannot kick. Why on earth would we pick up an early draft pick, say 11 for a person whom has serious flaws- that is why TEMEL is a better pick- 22 goals in 4 finals.-WOW. And WATTS is so more athletic than Butcher.

Great to see and hear that Scully would love to wear the RED & the BLUE GO DEES Another interesting pioint was from DB whom said they would go for at least one midfielder not suggesting that they would pick up Scully & Trengove.

It is reported 4 clubs will speak to Fevola and or his management. MFC is NOT one. Tim Harrington says he does not suit our youth plans

AFL football operations manager Adrian Anderson said on Wednesday the AFL had written to clubs outlining three potential changes to the rules, beginning with the 2009 NAB AFL Rookie Draft to be held in December. The AFL will consider extending until the end of the 2012 season the current rule allowing clubs to select an additional two rookies. The second proposal is that clubs be allowed to select up to two mature-age rookies until the end of the 2012 season. Finally, it is also proposed that clubs be able to retain a rookie list player for a third season without having to enter the draft, subject to the player being given the option to nominate for the draft. The commission will make a final decision on the recommendations at its meeting on October 19.

News from the camp- John Butcher ran a 2.99 second sprint. Best (I think) was Ayden Kennedy from Eastern Ranges - 2.88 seconds .This has been passed on by Emma Quayle via Twitter. Quite impressive big John.By memory Jack Watts went 2.82.If I am wrong, someone will correct me.

A pity that Morabito has also gone down with a calf injury therefore will not be competing . This means the top 3 by media speculation will not be tested at this draft camp-
