Surely it is our perogative to whom we listen too- we get stuff all from our own MFC webite.Just tell me when we have had an update re our training or injuries or what so ever9usually can read it in the press first)- that is why many of us go to radio stations to try to gleam any info

Could be a reasonable assumption, that the football department added more mature players to the leadership group is, because several of them are not guarenteed a GAME- McDonald, Bruce & Miller are questionable as being the best players in the top 22. This may also be the reason they increased to 7.Still I believe we should have included a younger person to develop. We were very interested in gaining Ball- due to his leadership qualities and hecaptained St Kilda at 22-so to develop one of ours in the leadership for 2010 maybe a missed opportunity.
-
I was a little surprised that one of the younger brigade wasn't included- however,on reflection Davey & Rivers getting a gig for the first time ,others being, Moloney, Green, Bruce & Miller brings leadership all other the ground with McDonald as Captain- we will have Rivers captaining the backline- Moloney- Centre, Miller, if he gets a game- forward with Davey, Green & Bruce wherever. With McDonald expecting retirement at the end of the year, Bruce & Green will be the veterans leaving, Davey, Rivers, Moloney & Miller as the ones to be groomed as the next captain. I'm told Rivers has done exceptionally well with Leadind Solutions- the company we have used to assist in the development of leaders over the last couple of years. No doubt the opportunity in 2010 is for Grimes,Morton,Sylvia to step up to be included in 2011.Miller himself will be nearing the veteran class after spending the end of his 9th season with the club.He was recruited in 2001.

Good to see the leadership group named- Junior Captain- and six other leaders- Davey & Rivers getting a gig for the first time ,others being, Moloney, Green, Bruce & Miller

For once you are half right- Cam Schwab rang me this evening to apologise. He accepts the club is fully to blame. They should have cancelled the training at Casey today and failed to do so- reason- they had to go to MCG- re induction .Also ran the tan. I explained in no certain terms my frustration and certainly the pathetic conduct in not putting this info on the MFC website- He concured-accepted this was twice in a row. I also suggested he looked at this website and in particular this thread to see and read our disappointment. He sounded very frustrated. Jennifer Watts also emailed me with her apology.I reiterate- it is not just today, or last week- this has been happening for years- as stakeholders we should be shown more respect. He heard me.Lets move on and have a Merry Xmas and an amazing NEW YEAR- GO DEES
-
It also pays to read the previous replies to a thread- people did RING.
-
Thank for your explanation- I'm a bit hot under the collar presently. The club just sent mean email- fully accepting responsibility- but I reminded them, this happens year after year-in previous years it was due to a training facility.Actually, another thing upset me was on the way home I went to the Junction oval- I was going to face Connolly- no onw was there from the club- a junior cricket match was being played. Ruddy frustrating- however you brightened up a little with the statenent -Joke JOYCE - I did remember it from the g.k SHOW Showing my age .
-
Where was this reported,as they never ever report training on our website ,read the report on Ology-that said nothing re injuries - I know they went for a run around the tan- must have been arranged some time ago-the only injuries was to us mugs that went to training- both time and money.
-
Thanks for your thoughts- please note I rang & others rang the club as late as Friday evening and it showed training to be at Casey today @ 9am.This was confirmed by Sarah Baker today via phone. However very interesting your comment that they have not trained on Mondays.Very interesting indeed.
-
I am another that went today.I also went last Monday - also no show. I rang the club this morning and as told it had been cancelled. I travelled from Ballarat- to me this is rude and unacceptable conduct to us stake holders in the club as well as setting a community standard in saying they would train at Casey over the last two weeks and it be cancelled with no mention accordingly on our website. As some of you know- I set up a thread - Communication Nework complaining re the attitude of our football club-this is just another poor example- over 30 people were abused this morning and it is indeed not good enough.I have emailed Cameron Schwab with a formal complaint- I believe the least that can be done is to have someone at the club give a formal apology on our MFC website. It just wastes our time and money going and following our team with this pathetic attitude. If they cann ot get the basics right - what hope have we. This lack of respect to us members and supporters has gone on for years. It is about time it is corrected
-
McKenzie know doubt is being groomed longer term, however Dunn is quite good at doing it now- whilst McKenzie develops-another whom could develop into this role and is ideal for it is Grysberts whom seems to be taller than the 188 mentioned.
-
You are correct- however I feel , if he can stand up- we will need him in the ruck- maybe we could interchange him at FF. OR CHF with say Martin instead of the bench.

Over the last 3 drafts MFC have gone for quality players that thankfully cover most of our needs- in particular weaknesses in kicking, Talls and mids. In discussing it further and from your responses- it seems we need to gain extra speed-Blease & Strauss have good speed whilst Watts & Fitzpatrick are the 2 quickest in the last 2 drafts, I believe.I think to cover the list & knowing we have Viney to come in & compliment the mids - I see we require a fast wing type, a covering versatile tall, maybe an existing player like Martin may be able to handle that, however, the most important is a quality maturing experienced tall- around the 23/25 age group-a Cameron Cloke, Chris Dawes, type whilst not over endowed with ability can come in throw their weight around ,look after the younger talls and crumbers and do a job similar to Leigh Brown has done for Collingwood this year. He has played back, forward, ruck and been very servicable- I think we could do with what Isuggested until our list matures further through development.A job that Miller or Newton should be able to do- however have failed us over the last 2 years. It is up to them - this is how I see it.
-
Giving Sylvia a leadership role also would give him responsibility and this may result in more consistency therefore leading by example
-
That is something I did not think of-very good point, similar to what happened to the luckless-Mitch Thorp.
-
Just read that in the Herald Sun that he is to face court. He will be declared bankrupt because of large gambling debts. What a sad day- hope he can pick up his life - like the OX has. Good luck to him, hope he can

Police it is an issue- however a suspension or banning- can be a easier way of letting their voiceheard. You know that....

The ONE TODAY HAS BEEN SENTENCED-Judge sentenced Siegle to 12 months' detention in a youth justice centre, to be served immediately. The others will a greater term. That will teach the thugs.
-
The same way Crown Casino bans people from coming in and the same way Racing clubs do.
-
All should get whipped if you ask me or let Nugget,Moloney & Miller in the cell with them for an hour. Then see who is brave. They will all get jail,in particular the two who has pleaded not guilty. BLOODY COWARDS

As I've pointed out in other topics- Just read in the Herald Sun today- that Bomber Thompson is seriously thinking about a mature aged rookie. He confirmed the Cats were considering the possibility of adding VFL captain and best and fairest winner James Podsiadly to their list as a mature-age rookie at this month's draft. This maybe the way, we may have to balance our young list in future drafts, mature experienced players. We have the money to do so. And well under the Salary cap. Therefore, he must think their is or maybe a shortage of good talls. Therefore in keeping both of these as rookies is strategically brilliant in my opinion. In particular Newton - whom hopefully is a late developer. Actually in watching some replays lately his lack of confidence was a major factor, in particular his kicking.Maybe a good kicking coach could help

It was interesting to read in the Herald Sun today that Geelong may look at a mature age rookie re this current draft-He confirmed the Cats were considering the possibility of adding VFL captain and best and fairest winner James Podsiadly to their list as a mature-age rookie at this month's draft.Maybe we should look at experienced quality footballers whom can balance our star youngsters in following drafts- especially when we have the money to spend- don't forget we were thinking about spending 500K A YEAR ON Ball .Your thoughts?

Martin may become a mobile ruckman- however feel the club may be grooming him for a tall forward position.
