  1. Richmond played a spare man in defence against us the whole game and we beat them.
  2. Come to play means putting in 100% effort 100% of the game and playing cohesively. When players are constantly behind their opponents and refuse to run hard both ways, refuse to run hard to create options and spread from a contest, that is "not coming to play".
  3. Saturdays loss was all above the shoulders OD, we had the team to cover the Bombers and simply didn't do it.
  4. Can't bring myself to watch that show (plus Play School is currently on :s) can someone give cliff notes.
  5. Has nothing to do with winning or losing anyway, it's about recovery. People asking the players to wallow in misery because they lose are ridiculous.
  6. I agree but how does alcohol effect their recovery? I don't have a problem with it if the club doesn't (which you would assume they don't if the platers are gonna post these pics) but I can see the point that it's not very professional when they need to keep their bodies in top nick during the season. Having a few drinks is fine, getting plastered might be an issue.
  7. The delivery to our forwards was pathetic not sure how you can put all the blame at their feet.
  8. I agree, although I'd say it's his 3rd bad game in the last month (Pies, WCE and Bombers).
  9. Come off it, how many young kids did Essendon have in today as well?No excuses for today's effort, the only thing that makes it even more annoying is how bloody predictable it was. Was there any Melbourne supporters out there who didn't think "oh [censored]" as soon as Essendon lost by 100 points last week?
  10. I've just had a look and thought the Bombers supporters on there were fine. Mostly responding to other supporters (not Melbourne) trolling them about celebrating too much after the win. None of them really said much about us and are just happy their team won a game everyone tipped them to get smashed in after losing by 110 points last week.
  11. Forget the skills have a look at the effort. If they bought the same effort today as they did against the Dogs we would've smashed the Bombers by 50 points. I don't know what the [censored] it's gonna take to get through these players heads that you can't pick and choose when you want to have a real crack. You need to bring the same intensity every single week in this comp - if you're off by even 5% like we were today you'll lose to anyone. Melbourne teams in the past from Northey to Balme to Daniher teams have ALL been allowed to pick and choose which games theyll turn up for. Hopefully this group will turn the g's around but things don't seem to have changed as yet.
  12. Haha, you [censored] nuffie
  13. Who cares how many hit outs he had? How many were effective? Hit outs is the least meaningful stat in the game.
  14. Part of the issue with the loose man is all our forwards cluster together meaning they've got an extra number at the contest when it's bombed in. If the forwards played smarter and spread out a bit we could isolate a couple of players instead of only having one option to kick to. This would mean the lose man would be in two minds about which player to go to as well.

  16. I can't believe people think Gawn had a good game? What are they seeing that I'm not? Hardly any effective hitouts and too many taps either straight down to his feet or directly to an Essendon player. And this against a second string ruck.
  17. Frost and Hurley have smashed him in the last month by continually outbodying him. He's only played 10 games though he's the least of our problems.
  18. Agreed. He should've had a plethora of effective hit outs today, I'd be surprised if he had more than a handful. Dawes was actually better in the ruck when he went in, we should've subbed out Gawn for JKH.
  19. Yep this. It's been happening ever since I've been supporting this club (28 years). Drop gimme games because they're mentally soft.
  20. Yep no excuses. That was a seriously pathetic effort. Until our players learn that you need to work hard every single week and not just when you feel like it (vs Suns, Tigers, Dogs and Cats) we will never be a good team. Essendon players wanted it more today that's all there is to it. And again, the friggin loose man killed us!
  21. C'mon Dees smash these [censored]. I want to see us put the foot to their throats, it's payback time. I couldn't handle losing today, very nervous. We better win!
  22. Good changes, Toumpas could have got another crack but he was poor last week. I would've kept him as an emergency though, our emergencies are too tall for the weather conditions so hopefully we don't need more than one late change.
  23. Yeah but Carey also kicked 11 on Neitz one Friday Night.
  24. How could anyone not be discontent with what has gone on there for the last 3 years especially if half his team-mates get suspended for a year or two.
