  1. Not related to this podcast but on the Junktime podcast last week they had Tim Harrington on as a guest (former MFC List Manager) - he didn't talk that much about MFC (maybe 5-10 mins max) more about his time as a player (North, Pies, Dogs) and as an assistant at North but worth the listen.
  2. You too? I tried that when I signed her and my son up for AFL memberships, I put it down as Melbourne club support - when she got the membership in the mail she cracked it. I tried to explain she doesn't even go to many games and we need the cash more than they do but it didn't fly so I had to change it to a Cats one
  3. I agree and I'd love to but it's the 10 tonne elephant in the room. It will keep popping up whether we like it or not.
  4. I'm in the same boat as most others I think - I'll enjoy watching Hogan (the first legit superstar I've seen at the club since I've been following) as a Demon until he's not because the alternative is just too sickening/depressing to contemplate.
  5. Theyll give them priority picks instead.
  6. What? Why? I love it - when the games in the bag, especially if they get the bugler involved as well.
  7. 148 Not for me - we owe them. I too am worried about losing this one but if we're well on top, I don't want to just win. I want to pulverise and demoralise them and give our percentage the massive injection we may need to play finals in 5 months time.
  8. I can't believe this is even a debate! If there's a chance we can get him to the club, we go for it. It's not even a question. Essendon and at least one other Vic club (Hawks?) were into him last year as well. I can't imagine him going to Essendon now so we would have to be in with a chance. If we can't get someone with Prestia's family links to the club we're doing something wrong.
  9. Yep can't carry two guys with minimal game time. So either he would come in for Oliver or he waits til he can run out the game. Can't imagine he'd be too far off that though probably needs to prove it for Casey.
  10. Assuming he can run out the game I'd get him in asap. I know Roos generally doesn't make many changes especially after a win butgettibf Petracca and Brayshaw back in is a must.
  11. And aggression.
  12. Great win if not a bit sloppy. Very good to see the young Demons have confidence in themselves to steal the win after going down by 20 points in the last. Great to see Hogan take the game by the scruff in the last and boot 3 after a dirty game. Watts was great as we're Kennedy and Oliver. Matty Jones was pretty good too. I didn't notice Bugg so much but Tyson seemed to have a dirty day. Our backline is still cause for aneurysms...
  13. It's not about who he would replace in our best 22 - it's about adding another quality player to our best 30 or so. How often does a clubs best 22 actually get out on the park? We've got triers like M Jones, Kennedy, Newton, Grimes still getting senior games - we've got others like Terlich, Stretch and ANB on the list who are either not good enough or not quite there yet. It's not like we're trying to fit him into the Hawks here, he would definitely be an addition to our list if he can get fit for senior footy.
  14. Who gives a stuff? This kid's not Scully and the circumstances are completely different. Hogan can't just up and leave, there'd have to be a trade worked for him and I can't imagine what we would expect in return. I reckon he's ours for the next 4 years at least and if we're any good he'll stick around after that.
  15. Yep - and he's ours!
  16. Once he gets on the park it will be forgotten - the publicity will all be about how much of a beast he is.
  17. Wouldn't put it past them - Maric and Deledio out destroyed them in 2014. Carlton's mids are too underdone though I think and Richmond will probably run over them. The tension will be palpable if the Blues are in front late in the game though.
  18. All this confidence makes me uncomfortable...
  19. 40k should be our baseline - we need to achieve that this year and can with some decent showings early in the year. From there we can build to 50k in the years to come with some consistent finals appearances and should really consolidate those numbers so that 40k is seen as the bare minimum we should achieve each year.
  20. Would Stevie J have become the player he was if the culture at Geelong didn't set him on the right path? Same with Gary Ablett Jnr. Talent is one thing - discipline is another.
  21. Does the club have to specify every single risky activity a player should not be doing in their contract?
  22. Which is why we'd have to smash them. For the good of the game.
