Well this is disappointing. Whately and McLure absolutely savaged us on 774 during the third quarter. Seems like we were just downhill skiing and leaving loose men in their forward line (Riewoldt!) even from stoppages. What is going on? Sounds like we were soundly beaten in the coaches box today. We came out all guns blazing in the first with frenetic pressure and running. Surely we didn't just tire ourselves out? Saints are a young side so no excuses there. They are a pacey side and especially at Etihad- the decision to keep both Frost and Pedersen and leave out Oliver or ANB was extremely costly.

At least when we just bomb it long inside 50 we have a key forward to target.

Spewing I can't make it today, hopefully a big contingent of Demons supporters shows up to support the team though. We really should win but I'm not confident enough yet to go into a game expecting the 4 points. Saints always seem to show up against us as well against and will be disappointed with their last quarter fade out against the Giants last week. Hopefully Riewoldt and Montagna are both underdone. Riewoldt has been playing on the wing so will be interesting to see who goes with him. Would expect TMac to go with Bruce. If we can win the ruck/clearances we should go a long way towards winning here but need to watch out for their pace. I reckon Hogan and Garlett will have good games and Viney and Gawn to roll on with their MVP form. Demons under 39.5

The way the academies are being set up is a disgrace. The draft has long been preached as a key pillar of equalisation by the AFL. That's all gone out the window. Look at GWS. They've sacked their SA and WA recruiters because of the talent coming through their academies that they receive priority pick access to - alleged to be 5 "top 25" picks this year.

Can't blame North for asking - it's the AFL who are the problem. This shouldn't even be a story just a simple "yeah, nah" from the AFL.

Only 2611 to go to break the 40k barrier which would be a massive achievement for the club. Disappointing Oliver's not in. We could probably use him instead of Frost especially at Etihad where a fast track means you can be caught out playing too many talls. I know Frost isnt slow but still

Have to admit I wasn't expecting much from Kennedy, thought he'd be similar to our Michie/Newton pick ups. He has been fantastic especially the last two games. He has added some real pace to the team and he seems to have some mongrel and goal sense about him. He's playing really well and seems to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder with regards to how he was treated at the Pies. Definitely a much better prospect than Howe who went missing far too often and only knew how to run one way.

Agree, the way they are travelling he would be the playing the "saviour of the club" role which is daunting enough but even moreso in a two-club town.

Yep the one downside to being an AFL Member - when you see the northern stand erupt it makes me a bit jealous. Plenty of Demons Southside though but it looks amazing when the northern stand goes up as one.
