He's an offensive brute - yet I cannot look away
-
Why did we ditch him after kicking 77 goals? Any one thing in particular or just the general lunacy?
-
What a lunatic - but an entertaining one who made a couple of good points. The rest of it was gibberish but intriguing.
-
The first step is admitting there's a problem. They never admit any umpire could make a mistake or be influenced by the crowd so it will never be remedied.

If one thing watching the utter garbage of the last decade has taught it's that performance is relative. Gone are the days where we don't even give an effort, we don't spread we don't chase etc. We are finally playing modern footy but have a young team and a dearth of experienced leaders. No one is disputing that. But that doesn't mean I'm happy with the result. I was happy with the effort but the execution and result was infuriating, I was tearing my hair out at times at our disposal and decision making.

Im calm. Your opinion of others feelings is irrelevant. Just because people are able to be more analytical than just spitting the dummy because we didn't get the chocolates doesn't mean they're happy we lost. Things aren't always black and white there are shades of grey. Of course I sport the scoreboard is the only arbiter but looking at the [censored] picture we are trending in the right direction. I

It comes with experience. We are fielding a team of relative babies every week. I know that reason wore thin sometime around 2011/12 but it doesn't make it any less true.

Not all losses are equal - losing by a goal in a game we dominated and should've won by 5 goals is different to getting done by 60, 148 or 186 points... We should be winning 10 games this year, we may fall short. But the other marker is our percentage which sits at 100% and is the best we've had in some years. Losing hurts but we're on the right track. Petracca showed some sublime attack on the footy yesterday and he's played 12 games. Tyson was great. Jones found some form. Oliver's still in the reserves. Hunt continues to impress. It's not all doom and gloom.

Neither did Tippett from memory.

Vickerys a free agent but I would still do that deal - they can have Grimes too
-
Except one just signed a 3 year contract!
-
They were floated and Carlton bought a number of shares as a means of trying to take them over so I don't know? Members only regained voting rights when Brayshaw took over?
-
I guess unlike Fitzroy for example North 1) were successful and 2) had the loyalty of their players. If North saw an exodus like the Lions did in the early 90's they'd be up on the Gold Coast 10 years ago.
-
How is that opinion? Show me evidence of Melbourne supporters being happy to lose.
-
Exactly. Some people forget only 2 seasons ago we had this scoreline against this mob who didn't even make finals that years, on our home turf http://afltables.com/afl/stats/games/2014/111820140330.html No one is happy with losing, it is bloody frustrating/infuriating, especially when we were easily the better team on the day. But only 2 years ago we would've seen getting within 10 goals as a "good" effort, now we expect to win. I can't fathom how people don't get this.
-
No one is "happy" we lost, that's just rubbish.
-
That will change with the natural development of our playing group (the youngest in the league).
-
I agree, would be a better, younger option than Dawes/Pedersen. I wouldn't care if we didn't get him but if the FD thought we could benefit by having him in the side while Weideman continues to develop I wouldn't be against it. He's a free agent so won't cost anything in the way of a trade.
-
None of that has anything to do with the players spirit or endeavour.
-
It was inexperience, lack of polish and footy smarts. It wasn't a lack of spirit. Are you seriously suggesting our players didn't have a fair dinkum crack at the footy. It was a tough game.
-
The one against Gawn was bad - the eagle player just threw his arms back and fell over.
-
Watts tried his guts out and did plenty of 1%ers just had no room to move i50 when he got the footy.
-
A lot of the game was played 40-70 metres out from our goal in a congested mess. It's no wonder when they did manage to break out and go inside 50 it was on a break and they had space to work in.
-
In 2013? Doubt it
-
We should've won by 5 goals- whatever that was it wasn't spiritless.
